I just had to say that the employees at this location are great. They are all hero's for working during the Covid-19 crisis. My nephew just moved to the neighborhood and we had a lot to buy. Our carts were full and I was ready to deal with attitude, but I was pleasantly surprised. Our cashier Dustin was awesome. He was very polite and friendly to us even though our final order was over $900.00. Additionally, we were tired from shopping and a little scattered, he was patient with us and very helpful. This is the closest grocery store to us but I don't like shopping here mainly for two reasons. I think that the layout of the store, particularly the grocery section isn't the best. There's a middle aisle between two sections of the rows that is always packed and people can't get through. I've also found that half the time, the items aren't scanning correctly with the advertised sale price. It looks like a few times this happened because the wrong items were placed in that section but I wish they would figure this out. I have to tell them about this whenever I do the self checkout. read more

When we first moved to Kirkland over 17+ years ago, there were 5 supermarkets all within a few miles from our house: Safeway, Albertson's, QFC, Grocery Outlet (over the hill in Kenmore) and Fred Meyer. Since all of the markets were relatively close in proximity, we would shop all of the weekly ads to get the best prices. As our lives got busier and time moved forward, one market always had the most consistent lowest prices: Freddie's. A few years back, they remodeled the entire store. A new phoenix rose out of the ashes as the premier one-stop shop in Kirkland. During the remodel, Freddie's added a much needed gas station! Prices are often competitive with the low prices at Costco gas. Use your Fred Meyer rewards card and depending on how much you spend, you can accumulate fuel points and get cents off your gas per gallon purchase. The FM rewards card is useful for uploading e-coupons directly to your account and the aforementioned cents off gas per gallon purchases. Every few months, I get paper coupons mailed to me based off of my Rewards tracked purchases. Recently offered with the Rewards card is a "Free Friday" item promo. Each week, they offer a pre-selected free item upload to your card. I appreciate that Fred's has a grocery store, deli, butcher, bakery, plant nursery, floral, electronics, clothing, jeweler and home goods/decor all in one place. Everything you'd need all under one roof. For the most part, the market is easily accessible with a huge parking lot, except maybe during the busy holiday season. Inside the store is also a Starbucks and Chase Bank branch. Super convenient. Freddie's is one of the best markets in the area with the most bang for your buck and value. Lots to grocery items to choose from and a large variety of product selections from high-end to budget friendly options. You can find most anything you're looking for at a great price. And, if you ever have trouble finding anything, be sure to look for Dean supervising the front end.....he's a long time manager and knows his store inside out! read more

Fred Meyer is like a regular Safeway. All of the customers and staff socially distance and wear masks usually. The inside a kinda clean and organized, not too clean. Do better...i get systems an fail and cash may be the only option but A. Announce more often people deserve to know you are wasting their time. B. Managers should be at the ready for store club cards for thise of us who use our phone numbers..even the regular sale price you know the everyday low was not coming up. I have mixed feelings about Fred Meyer. First, it is a huge place. I feel like I can usually find what I want if I look hard enough. That being said, the "goods" area seems like a disaster to me. The isles seem so random and I don't even know how they are organized. I tried finding 9V batteries once... and I found a ton of places where they had AA's, AAA's, C's and D's... I even found the specialty battery area (the little circle ones for hearing aids and other non-standard sizes)... but it took forever to find 9V for whatever reason. On that same trip, I was looking for pressurized air for cleaning a computer. A helpful associate showed me where it was, but it was $9.00. I bought it, but that seems crazy. You can get them for like $4.50-$6.00 anywhere else. The grocery section seems to be more reasonably laid out. One weird thing is that they put all the "hippie/organic" food in one area, separate from everything else... so if you want regular old pasta, but organic, Annie's, Mac'N'Cheese, you'll find them 7 Aisles away from each other... Seems stupid to me. I never touch their product or meat section. Trader Joe's just has SO MUCH BETTER stuff... like, times 100. However, there are some things I just have to get here. Their liquor is relatively inexpensive. The beer section is half-way decent, but doesn't change very much. I wish they had a good craft beer section (with rotating/seasonal/limited releases) -- then I wouldn't have to go to BevMo in Bellevue. The bulk spices section is pretty cool. You can get what amounts to 2 jars of Chili Powder for less than half the price of 1 jar - which is always awesome. I also buy some frozen food, Cheez-Its and a few miscellaneous items that I just can't get at TJ's. Over all, this place is a necessary evil since it is so close to where I live, but I would rather go to Trader Joe's and/or Target any day. read more

Have I told you how much I love Fred Meyers? They have a free fruit section for kids while you're shopping, they give out free cookies and today the gal helping us brought Chester a free balloon. They always have what I want, they have great brands, and the employees are the nicest. I you Freddys. I see others saying they have bad customer service but I've been regularly shopping there for 6 years and I have never had any bad experiences. Starting with the Starbucks barista who denied a promo (happy hour) and later a cup of water; and ending the bad experience with the cashier, Jerome, who had the worst attitude I've ever experienced at a Fred Meyers. I would rather start ordering at Amazon Fresh than to deal with these type of employees at the local Fred Meyer. This is specifically regarding curbside pick-up. The quality of food is horrible. I ordered a filet of salmon, intending to grill a whole filet and received little bits that will go into the garbage and it was very mushy. I have tried curbside pick-up 4 times (starting in November) and it never gets better. Last time, I waited over 45 minutes to have my food brought out to the car. *** DO NOT SHOP HERE *** Absolutely horrible customer service. I bought hot dog buns two days ago, and arrived home to find that they were completely moldy. Came back to return them, and waited more than 30 minutes for someone to help me at customer service. Six employees, including a manager, standing behind the customer service counter... Only one person helping customers, and he was working on a money order. The rest were talking to each other. When I asked them if they could open another customer service window as there were six people waiting in line... they were visibly annoyed with me and the manager told me to just wait in line and they'd be with me shortly. Ridiculous. 30+ minutes to return a moldy product that should never have been on the shelf in the first place. No one even apologized for the bad product, the inconvenience of multiple trips for me, or the ridiculously long wait to return the item. I was treated like I was the one who had done something wrong. This is the opposite of customer service. DO NOT come to this location. Spend your money elsewhere, they don't deserve it. read more

I came into the Fred Meyer Store in Kirkland WA on Saturday night at 8:00 PM the night before Mothers Day. I was shocked at what I observed. This place is a breeding ground for COVID-19. Systems are not efficient to protect the workers or customers. Floors around registers were not marked for social distancing. Clerks Plastic shields were not set up correctly to protect the Clerks. Clerks were receiving cash but not using hand sanitizer between customers paying with cash. It was clearly obvious that no one was wiping down refrigeration cases or door handles to maintain sanitation. Grocery carts were not being wiped down in between customers. Customers were in the store with out face masks on. One man a couple lines over was consistently coughing with no face mask. Never again will I go back. I understand that this store is heavily shopped. That is no excuse to not protect the employee's or the customers. Kroger your doing things half way or not really making a good attempt. read more

And from what little Ive seen during this ridiculously drawn out process, the finished layout of the store is going to be an awful maze focused much more on appearing "snazzy" and absolutely nothing else. Feh. I don't come here often, but it is the nearest Fred Meyer to me and the closest thing to a 'one stop shop' store in my general area. Nothing spectacular. Freddie's quit being a great deal store when they were bought out by Kroger (or just started admitting they were always owned by them? i don't know) years ago. Don't judge a book by it's cover. Cliche I know, but c'mon. Freddies is NOT. THAT. BAD. I mean, just because the "shell" is older, & overhead fluorescent lights are a little offensive- does not mean you should write it off. Let me offer some Pros' to support good ol' F. G. Meyer: + diversified check outs! One for "family friendly", 8 or 12 items or less and 8 DIY automated check out. + great produce section with loads or organic options and a whole "stir-fry" inspired section + hardware, greeting cards,gardening (great floral and watch for great selection of good priced Christmas trees soon) pet food, silverware, Rx, and a Chase bank. + constant sales + Salvation Army drop off in the parking lot (drop off the kids outgrown school clothes and shoes, and that dumpy lamp) + clean public bathrooms You got one 30 min. to run about 8 errands right? My guess is you can check them off all your list at Fred Meyer. Lastly- skip the yogurt parfait @ Starbucks and get a REALLY good one at Freddies; loaded with fruit and for a $1.00 less. read more

I usually wouldn't rate a grocery store but honestly this store and the staff there are the best! They are ALWAYS friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The store is always clean, tidy, and well stocked. When rating the store I tried to consider if there was any reason why they shouldn't get a 5 star rating but, couldn't think of not one reason. About a year ago I was shopping there when my 2 year old daughter fell ill very unexpectedly. She threw up all over herself as well as the floor. I was 7 months pregnant and was quite overwhelmed. Before I could even ask for help I had two employees there cleaning up, and transferring all my groceries to a clean shopping cart. One ran and got her clean clothes in her size which they just gave us then ran to Starbucks to get her a water, then sent us to be checked out right away........I was blown away. I will honestly never forget their kindness and just how completely efficient they were in that situation. BEST Fred Meyers around! read more

Normally I would rate locations like this three stars, but now that I know this Fred Meyer well I feel it merits the four star rating not for the services it offers but for the secrets it holds. Secrets: There is one parking spot that is not restricted (handicapped, reserved, or electric only) on the side near the garden entrance. Super close, rarely used, and gets you in easily. The garden entrance has multiple separate checkouts; they work really well when the rest of the store is busy. The pet cleaner can be found in two places in the store, so when the primary location (pet aisle) is out, search back by the vacuums and you can find a secondary stash. The cafe can actually make large containers of soup to go for an event even though they don't offer that size of soup normally. They have fresh humus (not just the prepacked stuff). You simply have to ask as the display is not always out. To rent a rug cleaner quickly, go to customer service rather than the checkout lines. They can process the transaction there. This Fred Meyer sells stamps, Good to Go passes (toll lanes), event tickets (for things at Marymoor or the Kirkland waterfront) at customer service. They don't have a listing that they have them so you'll have to ask. One of the cashiers ran for Kirkland City Council this last election. His name is Jory. If you see him tell him you voted for him to make his day. No gas points? The self checkout lines always spit out a survey request that if completed can net you 50 or 100 points. If you use your card at the station attached to the store, you'll always at least get 3 cents off a gallon even if you have no gas points. Lastly, during the Halloween season, this location does a charity event where they help underprivileged families get school and winter gear (Fred Meyer gives the families $500 credit). It gets really crowded during it, but it is really generous and kind. read more

In an era where we see century-old brick-and-mortar stores closing (Sears!) and especially the decline of big department stores, Fred Meyer is doubling down. They have been remodeling their stores all around the Seattle area, updating their grocery sections and adding competitively-priced organic food sections; one even has a sandwich counter in the middle of the grocery section where you can get an nice craft beer! Freddie's really has everything you *need* for general suburban living: clothing, furniture, groceries, plants, auto supplies, hardware, fishing gear, electronics .... Sure, you can get better quality for some items, but you have to go to a more specialized store. Sure, Target has groceries, but they're all packaged, and the selection is limited. And Target is lit like a 7/11 (the light! It burns us!). I just wish it was closer to my house. I'd be in there for 90% of my day-to-day shopping. One thing about these old-fashioned department stores: they're BIG. At least you get a good walk in. read more

I think this store is hurting pretty badly. They do the hole charge for paper bags thing. Witch is fine that's the City's dumb law. But the bags no longer have handles and are super cheep. As in when you try and hold on to the bag form the top it disintegrates. And everything drops breaks and thus the one star review. Store is awesome other than the cheep bags. read more

Very good selection, especially of cosmetics and beauty supply. In fact, their selection is far better than even the nearby Sally's Beauty Supply in Kirkland. Fred Meyer has a far greater selection, and charges far less! On top of that, they have never sent a Mr.Magoo type character to harass me and demand to search me after I left their store, which is something the nearby Sally's Beauty Supply in Kirkland seems fond of doing. read more

I love this Fred Meyer. I just recently found out about it, and was wondering why there wasn't a grocery store close to school (LWIT) but turns out it's just on the other side of the freeway! Apparently this store is newly remodeled, and it shows. It's so bring and clean and laid out well. (It doesn't hurt that there's a Starbucks up front, either.) Checkout is never too long, either. Bulk, bulk, bulk! My nutritionist had this plan for me: Lose body fat by eating a number of things I wouldn't have otherwise touched. Fine. Fred Meyer's bulk products made this challenge easier. Not much easier, but easier. Lots of options, and cheaper than some other stores. Also, like some other stores (::cough::TOPS::cough::), I wasn't reprimanded for not grabbing a pen and jotting down the item # on a twist-tie. You mean you can't tell the difference between steel cut oats and organic steel cut oats?! Psshhh. Their organic section has Earth Balance coconut peanut butter, yet another win! (unfortunately not on the diet!) Fresh produce makes me happy (love their asparagus here!). Meats are a little lacking in comparison with most other stores though. read more
