Stopped by the Safeway in Kirkland, and the large parking lot was a plus, especially for a store in this area. Inside was neatly arranged, and things felt efficient from a layout standpoint. However, I was disappointed by the amount of trash around the parking lot and I was kind of aurprised given the otherwise clean interior. The flower display at the entrance was a welcome touch and added some charm to the visit. Checkout moved quickly, but the staff didn't really engage beyond what was necessary. Overall decent, but the parking lot cleanup would go a long way. Efficient: Yes First-Time Friendliness: Yes Would I Return: Yes JY review

Woooo - the ready to eat section is on point! I stopped in today for food options to grab/go & bought $130 worth of options bc they all looked bomb. I tried the Aloha Bowl - tuna, Avocado, red cabbage, lettuce, onion, green onion, sesame seeds & jalapeño dressing & will never give another poke spot my $$$. It's waaay cheaper & packed with flavors!

Can't say I'm a fan of this Safeway (or most Safeways really). I can't put my finger about what it is that turns me off. Their offerings are 'fine'. This is a Kirkland location, which is a higher end zip code so to speak and they don't offer much to draw the bucks. I like mixing normal tier food with higher end products, and they don't offer much on the latter. Their sales are 'ok' but not practically attractive. There's a decent chance they'll have what I want at the normal tier, so I'm not complaining there. It's a thinly staffed store. If I can't find something, it's difficult to find help. The only people I see are around the perimeters, i.e. the registers at the front, the meat/seafood case in the back, the hot foods at the corner, and the occasional florists. No one in the middle. Their lack of staff is really the only ding making this store feel like a straightly self-service supermarket. So hey, here's a bonus. If you're introvert and want to avoid people, shop here!

It's a Safeway. There's a big parking lot, and a decent selection of stuff. The store actually doesn't have a weird layout that some Safeways have with the half aisles. It has a lot of the standard stuff you'd find in a Safeway, and the produce isn't too bad. I would like there to be more organic produce but that's not a huge issue. Service was actually pretty good, considering we came here pretty late at night and the staff were still chirpy and friendly.

While shopping for groceries and enjoying a coffee with my friend Jane at the store, I politely asked for a cup of water. To my surprise, I was told -rather curtly- that water is only available for purchase. This was unexpected, especially since during a previous visit, I had been offered water with my coffee without any issue. When I expressed my confusion, the staff member (a woman of Far East origin) continued to be dismissive and rude. I found the interaction unnecessarily abrasive and not at all in keeping with the welcoming environment I had experienced before. Another Google review also describes a similarly combative attitude, perhaps from the same individual. If she remains on staff, it could seriously impact the business's reputation. I'll be steering clear of this location." It's unfortunate that a thoughtful concept--one that Stephanie clearly put care and intention into--is being undermined by poor customer service. Experiences like this can have a lasting impact on customer loyalty. It felt as though the staff member would have rather been anywhere else--and unfortunately, that lack of enthusiasm came through in the way she treated paying customers. I support sharing this feedback, especially since Stephanie--the owner--isn't likely to witness these interactions firsthand. Multiple honest reviews about the staff may help paint a more accurate picture of the experience customers are having. On a more positive note, my friend's sons really enjoyed everything she picked up from the store. She sliced up some cold roast beef and sautéed it with green beans and Stephanie's stir-fry sauce - it turned out great. Stephanie's concept of providing curated meal shortcuts really worked for them!pre

Have been stopping by this location more recently on the way home from work to pick up a few things. While I have only walked to the store, they do have free parking in the building garage. Not a bad thing if you like shopping in a less crowded store. And I will say the store interior is an improvement from the old store which looked dated. It is not my favorite PCC to shop at, but I will continue to frequent it when I am nearby and looking to pick up some groceries.

Amongst the sweets, the Polish Wawel Mieszanka Krakowska chocolate covered jelly candy is a welcome treat. I enjoy wafer treats, so the Roshen wafers from Ukranine is my choice. I haven't had much luck with their produce; I skip them. (FYI: The business uses the Yelp photos to post the latest produce that has arrived, which is perfectly legitimate. But because they don't delete the previous photos, the Yelp photos suggest they may have a bigger produce section than they actually have at a given time. I was confused the first time I stepped in.) The shop is located in a strip mall with plentiful parking. The space is older, which I honestly don't care as long as it is clean. I don't require much service since I only need to pay and go. For me, this store doesn't serve the deli or the produce function in its name. But I do enjoy exploring their different items and choosing something new-to-me to try. That is good enough.

Today, 06/26, I went down the drinks aisle and there were various vendors and/or employees (hereafter "vendors") putting away merchandise. Most were to one side so as to not block traffic. One idiot had a cart on one side of the aisle and then merchandise directly next to it on the floor thus completely blocking traffic. When I approached, it appeared to me that he was quickly picking up the merchandise on the floor so he could move the cart and thus allow traffic to flow. Oh, what a fool was I to believe he was removing his traffic block. He looked up to me and said something like, "Oh, I didn't see you there. YOU should have said something." Examine the situation. 1) He did not apologize for creating the block to begin with. 2) And of course, he failed to prevent a block to begin with. 3) He says he didn't see me. Let me try that when I get in a traffic accident. Would my failure to see be a defense? Or the reason for the accident? 4) He then blames me. The whole issue is apparently because I didn't say something. Apparently, the burden was on me to tell him not to block traffic to begin with. And you know why he blocked traffic to begin with? Because he can. Because no manager at the store manages. And you know for how much longer he will do it? Until the day he is fired. He is not customer oriented; he is task oriented. He doesn't the see the customer as the reason for his job, he sees the customer as a burden to his job. He likely arrives in relief at the store knowing that the manager is always nowhere to be found. No vendor in a properly managed store would ever attempt to be so stupid as to have merchandise across the floor to completely block customer traffic.
