I recently stopped by Trader Joe's in Kirkland, just to see what they had, and it turned out to be a great visit. The store was nice and clean, well organized, and every shelf was fully stocked. While browsing the shelves, I came across Ube Pretzels! One of my favorite flavors, so I grabbed a bag. Late morning seems to be a great time to shop here. Checkout lines were short and moving fast. My cashier was friendly and genuinely interested in how my day was going. The only downside here is parking. It's always packed since it's shared with other big stores like Nordstrom Rack and Whole Foods. Still, once you're inside, the shopping experience is smooth and enjoyable. ***German translation for all the world travelers*** Ich war neulich mal im Trader Joe's in Kirkland, einfach um zu schauen, was sie so haben. TRADER JOE'S @ TOTEM LAKE This is one of my favorite Trader Joe's to go to! It's always clean in here, and I love the way they organized everything with little dividers and baskets. Everything at this Trader Joe's is always great to see, all the new items and the old mostly in the same areas you can easily find. I also love the decor and the signs of the streets they put on in each register, makes you want to go to a specific one. Overall, the place is always great to drop by. Parking can take a bit to find on weekends since it's busy. Service is great, always good energy and workers around if you have any questions! read more

This Trader Joe's is located in a busy and crowded shopping plaza. Wow, crazy busy. Well stocked shelves, fresh produce, etc. They did have a type of grape, that was new for me. Trader Joe's - Grocery Near Me - Kirkland, Washington

This Trader Joe's location I'd say is probably my main store. It is very close to one of my work sites, so while finishing up work I can stop in here and get all my Trader Joe favorites. Because this Trader Joes is in a strip mall, it can expectedly be pretty crowded as is the parking lot. This Trader Joes is well kept up with workers keeping things stocked and even had a worker approach me to ask if I needed any help. As friendly as the staff are usually at Trader Joes, that was a first. They've brought free samples back at the location too, I assume that's the case for others as well, but I've seen it more frequently at this location that helps it stand out. Also, I appreciate that this Trader Joes has not 1, not 2, but 3 bathrooms! Checking out is usually pretty good here. Even with the afternoon rush of people in here, I haven't had to wait too long. Of the trader Joe's I've visited I'd have to say this one the best so far. read more

I love Trader Joe's. It has the best selection of items. I also like that it has many Asian stuff. I would usually give it a 5-star, but this low rating was due to the poor service by a particular staff member. Trader Joe's has this policy that allow customers to sample any item. I went with my sister that day. We asked a staff to sample the ube cookie because I haven't seen this item before. Upon trying, the staff asked, "so, are you gonna buy it?" My sister said it's too sweet, and the staff replied, "well, it is a cookie" in an unfriendly tone. First of all, I didn't think the staff needed to ask that question in the first place. I asked for a sample at a different location before, and the staff member simply told me that if I was interested, I could get a new one from the shelf, NOT the one that's been opened, and left without pressuring me to buy the product. Secondly, I don't know why the staff needed to comment on my sister's opinion at all. That's none of her business, and we as consumers have our own tastes and interests to decide what WE would like. Cookies are sweet, but each brand has a different level of sweetness. Anyway, the staff was just SO pushy and asked, "is it a yay or a nay?" I've never felt so pressured to purchase something at a store. I also didn't like that we had to decide right at that moment if we wanted to buy it or not. Zero-star for this rude service. The staff at check-out though, was amazing. He was quick, and gave lots of stickers and lollipops to our little kids. read more

This is a relatively new Trader Joe location, it was moved when they redeveloped the Totem Lake mall into Totem Lake Village. The old location was huge and had plenty of parking in an admittedly run down center. This seems a little smaller and parking is a scrum in a part of the mall with a Whole Foods, Barnes and Noble, and many eateries. Until recently this was a well stocked location with everything I'd expect at a TJ, but recently there been a bunch of shortages of my standard items - Kalamata olives, roasted sunflower seeds and cashews, and the frozen organic chicken breast disappeared months ago, never to return (?). The Redmond or Bellevue locations usually have when I need, so while further away I end up alternating between locations during the month. Staff is phenomenal, as expected at a TJ. Always willing to check stock and offering a cheerful conversation at the register. 5 stars for staff, 3 stars for parking and 4 stars inventory. read more

Well staffed amazing store with the best return policies in grocery. I love this place! I am amazed that they can employ so many people and keep the prices so low. Favorite things include: fruit flavored yogurts (especially lemon and raspberry), orange chicken, unexpected cheddar cheese, Indian paratha bread, pimiento cheddar cheese dip, caramelized onion dip, all tamales (beef especially), gnocchi with gorgonzola, green/red salsa in the jar, and soy chorizo! They also have beautiful long-lasting flowers (especially peonies, when they are in season. ) I wouldn't recommend the pre-made sandwiches and most of the meat. Although it is all super well seasoned, the cuts of meat are too tough. read more

I was down in Kirkland scoping out the local apartment $cene and needed "a couple of things" from TJs before I made the long trek home to Bellingham. So I figured, why not stop before I hit the road? This almost brand new TJs is located in The Village at Totem Lake, a densely-packed urban village boasting such notable names as Lululemon, Nordstrom Rack and Zumiez. The nice thing about sharing its digs with other retailers is that the parking lot is MUCH bigger than your average Joe's. Of course, it also means you might have to park pretty far from the store. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find a nearby parking spot right as I pulled into the parking lot on a Sunday afternoon. (True confession: I think I just got lucky!) I emerged from my rock star parking spot and headed for the store. There was a small, socially-distanced line to get in, but it moved quickly and I was soon inside. Even with limited occupancy, it was still pretty crowded inside, but it seemed like the majority of shoppers were trying to maintain that 6-foot span between their fellow TJs compadres while we all navigated the aisles of goodness. Since I was just there to grab "a few things" I "only" spent about an hour in the store filling my cart with "other things" I surely needed - such as many of their fall-themed products. I mean, if they're there you may as well buy them, right? And who doesn't need a tempting jar of Cinnamon Bun Spread sitting in the fridge...At. All. Times. All in all I found the Kirkland store to be pretty much your average-looking TJs - I had thought it might be larger to be honest, being in such a densely packed area. But it was clean and (thankfully) very well stocked, and the employees were super friendly and helpful in navigating me to find things like crackers (spoiler alert: they're in the liquor section). And that's what pretty much elevates any Trader Joe's experience: the people who work and (most of) the people who shop there. I sure do miss the samples counter though! read more

What's not to like about a TJ? This location is just as likeable as any other if not more because it's relatively new, about a year old. I haven't had any problems locating products in this store. The staff is friendly and helpful. As always, there's a sample area in the back as well as coffee. My favorite TJ foods: produce in small quantities, pre-made salads, sour cream and onion corn puffs, "Inner Peas", sulfate-free dried mangoes, frozen tri-color pre-cut bell peppers, frozen riced cauliflower, and frozen seasoned mushrooms. The biggest complaint most people have about this store location is the parking lot, that it's both crowded and driving routes can have blind/tight/dangerous angles. Just be aware. It's a few more steps away, but I prefer to park on the north side (where Ross is) and walk to avoid the chaos. read more

Trader Joe's Totem Lake in Kirkland WA.....This store has the friendliest and most helpful staff! I am so impressed when I experience excellent customer service. As I was checking out with the cashier, one of the item I purchased was a dozen eggs. The cashier opened the box of eggs to ensure each egg did not have a crack. She noticed one of the eggs had a small crack which I hadn't noticed and therefore she asked her helper to get another dozen that has no cracks. I was pleasantly surprised that she did this .....ensuring that her customer has the perfect product. Thank you to that female cashier who was so helpful. Wish I had gotten her name. Also, as I was about to return the cart back to the store which was a bit of a walk back, all of a sudden a male employee from Trader Joe's came to me to take the cart. That was so kind of him. I really appreciate all these small acts of kindness from these Trader Joe employees. Thank your so much! I just love shopping at your store! read more

Prices have gone WAY UP! Trader Joe's must have thought they couldn't stand by and let all the other grocery stores price gouge their customers while they continue to offer reasonable rates for this would mean trader Joe's is losing out on profit. Finally they have joined the bandwagon. Example: frozen lunches used to cost apx $3.00 - $3.50 but are now selling at $4.00 - $5.00, and shrunk the portion. Way to go TJ's... Now I can feel properly taken advantage of by all our greedy grocery stores. read more

It's the new location for Totem Lake. It's new. And it finally has restrooms that are easily accessible. Otherwise, it's not much of an improvement over the old location. The 40% additional space mostly went to the new restrooms and the new liquor section (which is overpriced). Produce may be a little bigger too. Hard to tell. But it doesn't carry nearly enough organic produce. There are 2000 parking spaces being added in the shopping center. They are needed. Right now, between new stores and construction workers, parking is not easy. Hope that changes. So, it's a decent TJ's location, but it's not my favorite location by any means. But it is the closest to my home, so I will continue to frequent it. read more

I came one morning before store open and watched their store huddle, the energy and smiles I saw - the leaders here are rockstars. I overheard from a supervisor or manager of this Trader Joe's saying that this specific location was the busiest in the region. The place was pretty massive and was constantly busy while I was there so it's quite believable. Considering how busy they are, the store was very clean and stocked. Nothing we were looking for was out except for two items that has been not available for a long time. Based on how long they haven't offered it, I believe it's been discontinued. It took us awhile to shop because I was buying some gifts for friends back home in Hawai'i since we don't have a Trader Joe's there. I was also picking up some coffee for my brother-in-law back in Thailand. After a filling up a cart and a half of snacks and other miscellaneous items, we were on our way. Great location with lots to do in the area. Ample parking but you will probably have to circle around a few times during the dinner rush. Aside from that, another awesome Trader Joe's store. read more

I wish this location got more of the seasonal items. I know currently there's supply issues, but sans that, I feel like this location never gets the featured stuff. There is a good alcohol and hard alcohol section, as well as a large bakery section. The staff is friendly. Parking is a bit of a nightmare, but it's a shopping center so that's kind of expected. read more

Pretty decent TJ's location. They are always kept well stocked. Only negative side here is, sometimes the staff seem annoyed when you try to get around them for a grocery item when they are restocking. Fairly good space in the aisles (except the fruit/veggie aisles, which can be hard to navigate because of the layout). Sample area is nice too. Otherwise, the actual check outs move quickly enough. Lots of parking (if you don't arrive during major busy hours since it's shared with the overall totem lake mall). read more

This is a great Trader Joe's location in the new and improved Totem Lake shopping center. I've come here a few times and the store is always well-organized, fully-stocked and employees are happy to help. The Trader Joe's here is a decent size, with all the items you'd find at any other Trader Joe's. In fact, I find that this TJ's doesn't run out of items as quickly as the central Bellevue location, which is nice. Because of it's location, parking is plenty and it's easy to get to, as the exit is off of I-405. When at Totem Lake, it makes doing errands all the more easy, as I can just quickly get my items from TJ's and other items from the neighboring stores. It's convenient more than anything, which is why I'm a fan of this Kirkland Trader Joe's. read more

I also love their plant selection, they usually have interesting selection of plants for a really good deal. Everything is always stocked and if it's not, they're happy to help you out One note I'd say though is for them to keep an eye on the produce especially the ones near expiration dates. Trader Joe's seems to be one of those places where I consistently overpay in terms of the food quality but their staff are always so pleasant and polite and I really enjoyed the experience We can usually find quality food and ingredients that we need that is tasty. Parking can sometimes be hard but this is a new store so it's easy There are some specialty items that are only available at Trader Joe's. It's like a compromise between QFC and Whole Foods so I get the good quality products but I don't to pay an arm and a leg and take out a mortgage on my monthly groceries. read more

Love this location! Parking ain't too bad and they're generally stocked with what you need and want. Good selection of cheese. Somewhat limited selection of sweet white wine, but plenty of red. Meat is fresh and we've never had an issue with any protein or produce we've bought from here. They do not carry dried mushrooms, which we were searching for, but apparently really few grocery stores do. Staff is always friendly. read more

This is the closest Trader Joe's by my house. I always love the people who work there. George helped me out today with a spilled grocery bag. My boyfriend was carrying the bag when the handles broke. The contents had a large glass bottle which shattered inside. Without me even fully processing what happened George was coming over and assessing what was lost in the bag (due to the glass) and REPLACING all the contents with glass on it. I haven't seen such warm hospitality since visiting Japan. It really made my week, and I'll definitely be returning here every time I need groceries. Thank you TJ and thank you George! read more

I love Trader Joe's. They have all sorts of good things! Especially when it comes to things like bagels and frozen food. The only thing that has bummed me out about this particular TJ's was their ready-made food section. I was there a couple of times last month for quick on-the-go food and I was rather disappointed by the bland-ness of the Turkey (Pesto?) sandwich and the Lentil Wrap. (That lentil wrap had some kind of dipping sauce that smelled good, but was super liquidy and therefore dangerous to eat in the car.) The Gorgonzola flavored crackers and the 3-layer hummus, however, were quite tasty on their own AND together. Yum! read more

As far as TJs goes, this is a pretty small store. But what it lacks in size it makes up with in personality! I seriously have never seen happier employees at a grocery store; when I come here they seemed genuinely happy to be working here, and as a customer you can really notice this. I'd like it if they had a greater selection of non-cow cheese, especially since now they've discontinued selling buffalo mozzarella. The produce is for most part fresh, although I have seen the occasional overripe or slightly squished fruit. The store is behind the mall on the end of a strip, so parking can be a bit chaotic, but I have never been unable to find a spot. read more

This is our weekly grocery shopping locale. This particular store is wonderful staff. Trader Joe's is known for the quality of their products, but this store takes it to a whole new level with their customer service. Their staff is very welcoming and helpful. This store has a diverse group of staff (I think it could more diverse but it does appear that they are working on it). I love that they compost and make an attempt to be environmentally friendly. I like their sample station, items always seem to be fresh and coffee is always warm. read more

So impressed with Totem Lake Trader Joe's staff and management! Always friendly and efficient. Since the Covid outbreak, they have been a Godsend. Getting out of the house to see a happy face from the staff always gives us a moment of 'normalcy'. After leaving the store with a bag full of awesome food and snacks, lights up our day. One night my husband picked up a few items and did not have his credit card with him. They told him it's ok, come tomorrow. The next morning he returned to pay, and the manager said, it's ok, it's on us. Wow, who does that? A neighborhood store like Trader Joe's in Totem Lake Kirkland! Also we witnessed a clerk running out to give a nurse a bouquet of flowers... Heartwarming. Love them! read more

HORRIBLE experience at this location! The last 3 consecutive visits, they've been out of basic items that they normally carry. The first time they were out of lemons. Yes, OUT OF LEMONS!! Second visit, no persian cucumbers, no individual shallots - only consumer packs. I was told "our warehouse keeps shorting us." Sounds more like a problem with whoever is doing the ordering to me; because I don't have this problem at other local TJ locations. Third visit, no Israeli couscous. I'm highly disappointed that I'm now stuck with this location as my local TJ's. Guess I'll have to remember to do my grocery shopping right after work when I'm still in Bellevue rather than after my workout in Kirkland. Hard pass on this location whenever possible!! read more
