We haven't quite lived up to the Italian tradition of the feast of the seven fishes; I usually manage four or five fishes, but this is where we get them. This year the menu was shrimp bisque, shrimp cocktail, crab cakes and scallops. Plus a few Fran's salted caramels as a stocking stuffer. No photos this time. You have to use your imagination.

I do my best to stay calm and collected, but being profiled like that--humiliated without cause--can push anyone to their limits. It nearly did. And that's what I'm trying to avoid. I'm not writing this to stir drama. I'm writing this because everyone deserves to be treated with basic human dignity, regardless of how they look, talk, or dress. If you're serious about serving the community, QFC, you need to take this seriously. Your staff need training--not just on customer service, but on bias, respect, and how to de-escalate, not provoke. I just don't think the people that work in that department are happy to be there. I got screamed at one day when I asked when a fresh chicken will be out and he told that there are still chicken out there with anger when there was only two pieces of dry chicken setting there. The store is on the smaller side compared to other Eastside PCC locations. Store interior feels a bit sterile and usually quiet when I shop here. Not a bad thing if you like shopping in a less crowded store. And I will say the store interior is an improvement from the old store which looked dated. It is not my favorite PCC to shop at, but I will continue to frequent it when I am nearby and looking to pick up some groceries.

It has however changed over the time, the staff don't seem friendly, I've walked in a couple times and just been fully glared at by staff in the front. Bathrooms are dirty and it's pretty sticky floors. There is also workers smoking on the side of Safeway outside right by the Handicap, no issue with smoking, but they are ALWAYS lingering around where customers are walking to the car. There is also homeless people always out front where you enter 124th street. Other than that, the selection is great, there is a Starbucks in the store as well, and the produce is fresh. Parking is plentiful and easy. And the location is right on a busy stretch of NE 85th Street that is close to I-405. The customer service was great. I had mistakenly picked up the wrong box of berries that were not on sale and told the self-checkout clerk that I would run back to the produce area to grab the right ones. When I came back, the clerk offered to ring my groceries up herself. I really appreciate how she went above and beyond. Little gestures like this help to rebuild customer loyalty.

I've been to this Fred Meyer multiple times, and I always enjoy coming here. The store itself is gigantic, you can find everything from clothing to fresh fruits, veggies, snacks, and so much more. A lot of items are usually on sale, which I love. They always have great deals like "buy two, get one free," and their fruit selection is especially my favorite. They even have a Starbucks inside! The staff is really friendly, and I like that they offer multiple checkout stations. There are two different entrances, and both sides have checkout lanes, plus self-checkout options. When someone finally showed up, they made direct eye contact with me without any acknowledgment whatsoever and just started stretching dough. When I walked over to them and asked if this is where I put in a pizza order, the rude response was, "I guess I can do that" but just awkwardly stood there continuing to stretch pizza dough. When I finally asked, "Are you ready?" he said, "well I was.." Then proceeded to get the order completely wrong (at no point did I say I wanted broccoli on my pizza - pretty sure I'd remember that, and I can't imagine anything that even sounds like broccoli that someone would want on a pizza). I would've just picked up some pizza slices if they hadn't looked sad and dehydrated from sitting under the heat lamp all day. There were about 5 other customers waiting in the deli area also needing help, with no one to be found. 2. Twice, I've attempted to pick up an online order, and each time the designated pickup spots have had a vehicle parked with no one inside them. This wouldn't be that big of a deal if the parking lot wasn't a complete DISASTER. 3. Look, I'm a dog lover, but really the last straw was the entitled customer whose dog peed on the floor in the grocery aisle as she meandered through the store. Not one employee even noticed, and this dog wore no service vest. Never mind the outrageously high prices at this store, the customer service is either rude or non existent. I absolutely recommend going to a different WF store.
