    what should be illegal pricing!

you finally did a Fred Meyer you've pushed me to move away from using your store at all. First off today, I was blown away. You had a ton of employees working on a Saturday, which is fantastic, but it would be smart if the shelves were stocked prior to having a store full of people. The manager that had all the time in the world to sit in the electronics department talking with the one employee while everyone else is working must feel really good for all of the employees. Especially the employee in line at customer service. I have to let you know. I absolutely hate your BS coupons that I have to do all the work for to get discount. Why do you advertise something at the discounted coupon? Only price? Why do I have to enter my phone number? If I still have to click the coupon. This is such a stupid system. But you say it's so easy just go through and click the coupons that you need. do you know that you have over 400 coupons per week in the app that's almost a full-time job just to click coupons to get 2 to 3 dollars off per item. Part is you advertise that price and I assume that it's the Fred Meyer use your rewards card price. Because obviously they're clearly labeled. That was sarcasm. They are never clearly labeled half the time they haven't even taken the sale price down from the week prior. I'm frustrated and agitated that the only way for me to find out if it's a digital coupon if I was unsure to hit total, then go back and look at all the items. Or scan all of the items that I purchase in the app to see if there's a coupon. Then scan them again at self check out because I am an employee of the store who hast to work as well. I wish they could do something about the music in here. also, am I allowed to take my 10 minute break? It's frustrating that the majority of the registers open are the ones that are self check out. You have somehow convinced the world that it's convenient for me to do all the work. What are you gonna ask me if I would like to tip my cashier? I want to give you some quick and simple solutions. To the manager, if you have time to lean, you have time to clean there are 1000 things that you could be doing other than flirting with a girl that you are interested in. To whoever created the digital coupons. I hope you meet the demise similar to what Garfield used to say. I shouldn't have to go through 400+ coupons every time I come to your store to make sure that I'm getting a good deal I should be able to put in my phone number as a record member and it should go on automatically. The same BS that you did what I just stated above because it's the right thing to do. you should never advertise a price that is only for special customers willing to go through your BS. The girl working customer service I am sorry I was agitated when I called. I'm probably more agitated that you are the only person with that many people in line and not a manager in site to help you instead they are too busy chatting it up. Security check section 3 security check section 3. Is it just me or every time I hear this it makes me want to steal even more. I don't but it's such a joke. Be better Fred Meyer. I don't know what you have become, but it's agitating. You were trying to make everyone do everything independently self check out, self coupons what's next you're gonna ask me to come unstop the truck put the groceries I want to purchase on the shelf? I have tried several times to use your to the best of my ability when it tells me it's on aisle 17 and it's not there it's frustrating. Then I go to employee and ask for help. They tell me it's on aisle 17 because they're using the same app. then when we walk back and check aisle 16, 17 and 18. They say it must be out. It's strange because I am able to order it for in-store pick up or delivery. How do you not know where the items that you stopped are in your store? I am typically not someone who likes to write anything below two or three star, but today you truly hit a nerve. care more about profits. and confusing your customers than you do about taking care of your customers and your employees.

I have started shopping at this Fred's location more regularly now, and not just when I am heading back into town after visiting Potter Marsh, for example. Even though I live in Anchorage's awesome eastside, I take the drive to this store since the Fred's on Muldoon has become increasingly disappointing these past several months. This store on Abbott Road (found easily via Elmore Drive) is well organized, bright and decently stocked. I especially appreciate the fine job done in the produce department and in women's apparel. And get this- I about fell over when an employee came up to me at the self scanners as I was ringing up my good stuff, and asked me if I had found everything alright. I actually stopped for a moment, rather stunned, because there ain't no way anyone would hear such a thing at the Muldoon store. So, I told him- yes! I found everything I was looking for, then added in my two cents sharing what a nice store this is, especially compared to the Muldoon store. Seeing the smile on his face helped to make my visit all the more worthwhile.

This is a solid grocery store, as a tourist from out of state it was a nice reliable place to visit where the locals shop and pay non-tourist prices for basic items, including some souvenirs too. This is a super market, I think part of the same ownership of Ralphs (here in So Cal), so the pricing is fair and competitive to their peers with good deals when you know what to look for.

I come here a few times a month because I need to get from A to B in a vehicular transport. Place usually has water and a sponge thing to wash windows, room in the trash bins(a plus), and enough room to get in and out when it's busy. There is a retail section to buy oil, window washing fluid, smelly trees, etc... Sometimes there will be firewood during the summer. Recently, I refilled my little propane tank for the grill and had to get it from the person manning the little island check-out kiosk. It was really busy at the time, so it was a bit of a wait, which is unfortunate for the person since they had to leave to fill it up and other people waiting weren't as patient as they could have been.

Been out of Brown Cow for over a MONTH, other than this chocolate flavor. Whoever does the organic dairy really needs to get on it.

That's the price if you don't have the loyalty card and, thus, don't get the discount. The sticker then went on to show the "price with card," i.e., the discounted price, i.e. the 20% off price. And that unit price showed as $20.69/lb. That's a discount, yes, but it's not a 20% discount. To simplify, let's say the un-discounted unit price was $25/lb (a penny more than the actual un-discounted price). What's 20% of $25? Five dollars. So the discounted price with loyalty card should have been $20/lb. Another sign at the kiosk advertised 20% off Murray's Aged Manchego. Same problem: Fred's system didn't calculate the 20% correctly. The un-discounted unit price was $26.99/lb., but the same sticker showed the price with card to be $23.59/lb. Twenty percent off $26.99 is $21.59, not $23.59. So, I was being charged $2 more per pound than the advertised price on the sign right there at the kiosk. The nice young woman at the cheese kiosk seemed to understand what I explained to her in person, but she said she couldn't change the pricing; all the cheese sales staff does is weigh the portions and their system spits out a label. So I spoke in person to the man at the customer service counter, who also told me he couldn't change the pricing system and he didn't think anyone else in the store could, either. He noted that the PLU number on the sign didn't match the PLU on the sticker affixed to the hunk of cheese. I phoned and spoke with a grocery manager who did not listen, tried to say I misunderstood, then hung up on me. Then I phoned the 800 number and, once I got past the automated answering system and spoke to a person, she listened, seemed to understand, and said she'd pursue it. Bottom line for you, other Freddie's patrons, is: Check the math on the advertised discount. Make sure that the discount shown on the label agrees with the advertised discount.

Review of New Sagaya City Market - Anchorage, Alaska…read more Five weeks ago, I moved from San Francisco to Anchorage, settling near the downtown area. One of my first missions was to find a coffee spot that felt like home--a place with not just great coffee, but genuine people behind the counter. After trying a handful of cafes, a neighbor suggested New Sagaya City Market, just two blocks from my house. What a win. The market itself offers high-end, quality products. Yes, prices are a bit higher than what you'd find at Walmart or Target, but coming from San Francisco, I was prepared for that. What truly sets this place apart, though, isn't just the products--it's the people. From the very beginning, the baristas here have shown me the most consistent and heartfelt customer service I've experienced since moving to Anchorage. They don't just serve coffee; they connect with you, listen to your stories, and make you feel like part of the community. Today was a perfect example. I slipped in the parking lot (rookie mistake--no spikes on my shoes for the icy ground). After two kind gentlemen helped me up, I walked inside with my spilled coffee. Annie, a new barista I hadn't met before, immediately offered me a fresh cup with such kindness and care. That small gesture meant so much--it wasn't just about the coffee, it was about feeling seen and supported. I also want to shout out Monica and Shea, who I met when I first arrived five weeks ago. They've been consistently amazing--funny, charming, and genuinely interested in conversations about life, community, and even my adventures back in San Francisco. Every time I come in, I leave feeling lighter, happier, and more connected. Thank you, Annie, Monica, and Shea, for making New Sagaya City Market my go-to coffee spot. You've given me more than great coffee--you've given me a sense of belonging in a new city. --- Would you like me to make this version short and punchy for Google/Yelp reviews, or keep it longer and more storytelling-focused for something like a blog or social post?
