I loved this place. We met up with some friends here and had the place almost to ourselves. The…read morebartender was great and attentive. The lighting is pretty dark. The drinks were so good there was not one drink we got that we did not love. Lots of cute decor. Tons of seating. The pool table was free to use which was nice. There is a lot of street parking and parking lot in the front on the bar. Would come back for sure.Great service!

Gotta love a good Tiki Bar!…read more We had an hour to kill before an appointment so we Yelped unique bars in the area and found The Monkey's Paw in Springfield. The profile looked pretty cool so we decided to go there for a drink. Once inside, it was pretty dark which is typical for a Tiki Bar. The decor was very good and there was a lot of it around. My fave was the mermaid skeleton above our seats. The drinks options were plentiful and they even had jello shots for a bargain price (we had a few of these for good measure!). I had The Monkey's Paw classic drink and another in our party had The Invisible Man drink. Each was lovingly prepared by the bartender who was super cool with the prep and conversations we had with him. I loved walking around and looking at all the decor on the walls and ceiling. There's a lot to see. There's even a door that leads to a courtyard with several food trucks ready to serve you. There is a stage near the entrance for bands and a small dance floor. I would love to return one evening to check out the atmosphere and do a little boogeying! Give this place a try. It's a well done Tiki Bar and one of the better ones I've been to.

I recently stayed at the hotel and I really enjoyed this spot. They have some great items on their…read moremenu, like the shrimp and grits, which was great, cornmeal breaded oysters, which was also good, and for breakfast they have an incredible acai bowl. Their clam chowder was surprisingly awesome though! I'd give it a 3.8/4, it's certainly among the best I've had. The service is also great, the staff that was working when I was there was fast and friendly and they all seemed to enjoy working there. Try everything!

This was the surprise of the trip. We stayed at the Adobe a couple of nights and weren't…read moreoriginally planning to dine in-house due to my familiarity with sub-par hotel/resort food. Perhaps my low expectations led to my enjoyment of dinner so much. The rules around reservations was a little annoying, but I'm assuming it's due to staffing issues to make sure they can provide timely service, which they did. After multiple seafood meals, I was considering a "turf" meal. When I asked the server about the Curry Scallops and the Chicken Marsala, his response to the Marsala confirmed my decision. I was already leaning toward the Marsala based off another photo on yelp. I was not disappointed! The chicken breast was aggressively seasoned in a perfect way. Leaving the chicken on top rather than smothering it in Marsala sauce meant the texture in the chicken stayed slightly crunchy the entire meal. Although there weren't nearly as many mushrooms on my dish as the other photo, but had a great mushroom flavor that went so well with the chicken and mashed potatoes. The "veggies" in my case, was a bean medley that appeared slightly odd at first, but was actually pretty tasty. My wife ordered a grilled cheese/salad/French onion soup special. The sandwich was super cheesy, with multiple style cheeses. The salad was good, and we both thought the French onion soup was really good. I spoke to a staff member who said they've gone through a few chefs in the past year and that the current one is her favorite. Whatever she/he is doing is working because our meal was a great conclusion on the final night of our stay.

People who came without a reservation were told that there's about an hour wait or they could sit at the bar level on the first floor. There's also a second bar on the second floor where the main dining room is up a flight of stairs. Service was great and we were lucky enough to sit by the window overlooking the sea lions, the water, and the Yaquina Bay Bridge. Food wise, it was mostly 5 star. I'll start with the thing that wasn't, and that was the deviled eggs (you get 3) with a lightly fried shrimp. The shrimp was overcooked, lukewarm, and didn't really add anything. But other than that, everything else was really good. The highlight was the Umpqua oysters on the half shell. We went through a dozen and a half. The oysters are sweeter, no briny. They're not huge but not tiny either like Kusshi oysters. It came with 3 different sauces. Another highlight was the whole dungenous crab...so fresh. Poke salad, garlic brussel sprouts, Yellowtail Hamachi, and Lingcod were also pretty good. If I'm ever in the area, I would definitely return.

The wife had a bowl of Clam Chowder which she said was excellent. We shared a Brownie Sundae a la Mode which was also just okay. The picture looked much better. The brownie was way under cooked and wasn't very good anyway. The ice cream with the toppings was okay but not special. The place is very nice with great views as well as excellent service. 3 1/2 stars.
