Our yearly visit to Pennsylvania is not complete until we visit Frank's, at least once, if not more. This past week eight of us went there for dinner. We ordered ravioli and meatballs, veal parmesan, ribs, scampi with pasta, and several other meals (can't remember the individual dishes). Very happy table all around. It's so easy to make bad Italian food, and so hard to make great Italian food - - the Italian food at Frank's is great, based on family recipes - - that makes all the difference in the world. The portions are staggering - - all of us took home half of our entrees. Our waitress was quite efficient and very courteous, creating an atmosphere both pleasing and relaxing - - not an easy task when handling a table of eight people all talking to her at once! The restaurant is almost 50 years old, and is wildly popular for many reasons. The place is far larger than it looks from the road. One goes through the original bar/restaurant area, then into a small dining room, then into a large one that looks like it can be closed off for conferences or large groups. New (to me) since last year is a very pretty al fresco restaurant at the very back of the restaurant. Maybe we'll try that next year! read more

We've eaten here before a few times and gotten takeout as well. The food is always great with a HUGE selection to choose from. Yesterday was the first day we used their catering and I could not be more pleased. My party for 50 people went off without a hitch thanks to Franks. Food was delivered hot and fresh and set up by their staff. The "rolls" were actually the most delicious garlic bread I've ever had and the salad was huge and crisp. The leftovers (and there were tons since the portions were so generous) are just as good today! read more

Generous portions. Great value. Calamari appetizer was huge and very tender. More than enough for 4 people to share. Salad was full of good ingredients, not just a bowl of lettuce. The Veal Parmigiana was a very large portion. read more

I have lived in this area for a LONG time and this was always a nice place to go. The place has been renovated and the ceilings made higher to give it a bigger sense because when I used to come there it felt very cramped and dingy because of the amount of regulars there. I love the place and it's food but they have to tone the menu down. All the food is delicious and priced well, but only if you can actually find something you want because the menu is the size of an encyclopedia. AWESOME!!!! Whether we go just for appetizers and drinks or out with the whole family for a special occassion, we always leave smiling...with a to-go box in hand ( due to the very generous portions). The staff is excellent in making sure you are 100% pleased...Frank assures this by walking by and saying "Hi" and checking on the table. One of my favorite local places to go for dinner! They have a GIANT menu and nothing on it disappoints. They truly have something for everybody. They have the BEST prime rib you'll get anywhere. Their buffalo nachos make a fantastic appetizer - but be prepared to share because it is a huge portion. They make everything great, from burgers & wings to steaks & seafood or even pasta dishes and salads. Always excellent service. My only complaint is that their takeout is not nearly as good as their in house food. For some reason the quality isn't as good and something always seems to be forgotten. I wouldn't recommend ordering out, but if you have the chance to go in - don't miss it. read more

The turkey dinner is great. Made with real turkey, not lunch meat like a lot of other restaurants. Super hot boneless wings are great too.

You always get great food and great service from Franks. The servings are huge enough that u will have dinner for at least 1-2 dyad later. They have been in business for years and there's a reason for that. A great formula. Great food+great service+great prices = success for years. read more

This place is so odd! It's in -- what feels like -- the middle of nowhere. It looks like a house. It smells like a bar. The menu is overwhelming. It looks like it is stuck in the 1960s. AND I LOVED IT! I had a prime rib sandwich that was incredible. How can one slice of meat topped with peppers, onions and cheese be so good? Delicious. I then had a peanut butter pie for dessert that made me weep. I am giving this four stars because of what it is. I mean, come on, it's not really fine dining! But the food was SPOT ON. very dissapointed called ahead for reservation in old section specifically asked table not booth told had to wait 30 -40 minutes for table not to be an ass settled for booth waited 50 minutes for appetizers and salads bus girl and waitresses walked by table with plates piling up on and bottles didnt pick up unless asked them main meal came out table was still not bussed my 16 oz t bone was about 1/2 inch thick and full of grizzle every one elses meal was satisfactory will go somewhere else for steak next time read more

Last night was our first time at Frank's Place. What a great choice it turned out to be. Sometimes you find a restaurant with generous portions however the food is mediocre at best. Not so with Frank's. The food was excellent. Even better, the service was quick, the prices were reasonable and the staff was friendly. The menu is quite large so choices are plentiful. Well I have a new favorite restaurant. I have lived in numerous places in the U.S. and this is by far the best restaurant I have eaten at. It is also so reasonably priced! I had the tuna steak, mashed potatoes, and veggies. My mother had the salmon and my father had chicken and pasta. All the meals were amazing. I can't wait to go back to try more! read more

The staff and service was great. I would give them a 4 or 5. The room we sat in had a banquet hall feel with sliding panels for when they need to make part of the room private. Because of all the great things we heard online and from others in the area, we went there expecting a great meal and everyone tried something different and we shared the appetizer sampler as well. The best anyone could say was the food was average. Steak, Prime Rib, Short Rib, Burger, Hot Wing Hoagie, regular wings and Buffalo Shrimp and nothing stood out as good to anyone, just average. Maybe they were just too busy. Between the 6 of us we had to share 2 menus because they ran out of them. Went to Frank's Place tonight for the first time. I was pleasantly surprised. Here is this restaurant in the middle of nowhere with an amazing menu and very good food. We arrived a little before 4 pm. They open at 4 and they were nice enough to let us in early. My husband and I ordered 2 shrimp baskets, one jumbo and one coconut. They were both delicious. The portions were a nice size and we were allowed to substitute broccoli instead of French fries. The service was great, the prices were good. All in all it was a good experience. We will spread the word and will definitely return. I couldn't get over the crowd of people in there for a Monday night. read more

Definitely get the pierogies! Yes the menu is huge BUT DON'T CHANGE IT! Everything that comes out the kitchen is spot on. The Texas fries are excellent. This place is SO MUCH better than any chain down in Dickson City if you have the time it is worth the drive! read more
