I have a few neighborhood favorites when it comes to pizza, but these guys have officially earned a spot in my regular rotation. They've gone through several changes over the years, and I genuinely feel this current ownership has done the best job revamping the menu. The space is always clean and well kept, and everything on display looks fresh and appetizing. What really sets them apart is their use of pepperoni cups instead of the typical thin-sliced style. Whenever I'm in the mood for that crispy, cupped pepperoni, this is where I go. While I'm usually loyal to classic thin slice New York pizza, I was feeling adventurous and ordered their "deep dish" style pie. I was not disappointed and will order it again. read more

Helped my best friend narrow down a decision on which neighborhood restaurant to cater her family event. Franks Pizza won that decision. Decided on six items with a mix of one full tray plus halves. For the half trays she chose Eggplant Parmesan, Baked Ziti, Mild Buffalo Wings, Mixed Green Salad plus Fusilli with Garlic and Oil. And a full tray of Chicken Cutlets. The disappointments were the unseasoned chicken cutlets and the underwhelming buffalo wings. The mixed salad was good. The Fusilli with Garlic and Oil was a hit. Followed up by okay Baked Ziti and Eggplant Parm. The catered items also included an assortment of breads, accompanying sauces plus a bonus bag of pizzeria dough Zeppoles. You have many choices on this Avenue but Franks still ranks up there. They had to downscale due to COVID but the pizza is still delicious. Nice crust with a tasty sauce and plenty of cheese. They have many food options on their giant writable wall. Stop by if you're in the neighborhood. read more

My family and I had drove down to The Bronx from CT for a sweater I left in her friend's house. My boys were hungry so we decided on pizza. Franks pizza was open it was late and they were very welcoming. Food was spot on. Nothing like a NY pizza I tell ya... Also had their boneless buffalo wings and chicken strips. Kids destroyed it. This Throggs Neck gem steals the spotlight when it comes to garlic knots. And in comparison to the dull ones I get from this pizza spot by me on North Broadway in White Plains- these right here are money. For 4pm Friday, all I picked up were these fantastic garlicky "Twists", plain slice for my Mom plus two cans of Orange and Grape sodas. These guys didn't mock the idea when I asked for a Vegan slice- in fact- they were cool about it and said they couldn't just make a slice-hey......I tried. Frank's may not be the flashiest when you first walk in- but further in towards the left, you'll see a small- but inviting dining room. Seems like it's a decent spot to pull up a chair and catch up on life over pizza and pasta. I really don't know if portions are large here- but the service is pleasant. I'm also unsure if Frank's has a perpetual line of people at the door- but it's the local pizza joint vibe that keeps some folks coming back. I can't be the judge on how good their regular slice is because I've been detoxing from Dairy- but from the looks of it when I got to my Mom's house, it seemed legit- plus she enjoyed it. Definitely not my first choice of the pizza joints in the area BUT it's the most convenient walking distance for the area. The pizza is alright, it's never great. The prices are definitely higher than just about every other pizza place I've been to. Typically a specialty slice should be about $3.75-4.25 tops but these guys charge $5 for some specialty slices. Buffalo Chicken Slice: 2/5 Regular Slice: 2/5 Bruschetta Slice: 3.5/5 Chicken Bacon Ranch: 3/5 White Slice: 2.5/5 Meatball Hero: 3/5 Garlic Twists: 3/5 The problem is that the pizza isn't consistent. Sometimes the CBR slice will be amazing, and other times it's garbage. Always a gamble coming here which is why it's usually a drunken choice or the easy walk choice. Frank's is definitely better than Tommy's down the street, but Emilio's is by far my #1 choice. read more

This place has great service and their pizza is good. The crust is just the right amount of crunchy but not overdone and they don't skimp on the toppings. They have other dishes on the menu as well but we normally stick to pizza and the beef patty's. They keep the place clean and enforce masks as well as social distancing. read more

Ok pizza. Very good pizza rolls- particularly their buffalo chicken one. Im giving 2 stars because in the two times I've ordered pizza for delivery, they have consistently made a mistake in my order and took over an hour and 45 minutes to deliver....and I live a block away. No exaggeration. I let it slide the first time there was an error, but when I called the second time there was an error in my order, it sounded like I was talking to an inept high school kid who didn't know how to problem solve or talk to customers. Good dough, if underdone. And it's clean inside, so that's good. They also have complete dinners and deluxe seafood chalkboard specials, stuff like that. This is right across the street from 2 other well known and great pizzeria's. Its seems that each place does well because all 3 have been in business for a while now. Franks offers a larger menu then Tommy's Pizza across the street. Although, Tommy's pizza is better then Franks, but Tommy's doesn't offer to many choices on the menu. Mainly pizza only.
