If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Our 20yo daughter took her truck here and Frank took care of her like she was his own daughter. Not knowing anything about cars can make it difficult to know who to trust and what to believe. Frank made sure her car issues were resolved without charging her an arm and leg. Frank was honest, transparent, and authentic. Highly recommend! read more

There are auto repair businesses that know how to minor-service your vehicle and replace OEM parts to perform repairs, and then there are are businesses owned by mechanics whose passion is working on cars and fixing them when it requires real knowledge and creativity. That's Frank! I've taken two cars to him with outstanding results. Frank is very knowledgeable, responsive, polite and honest, he is one of a very few mechanics I would return to in a heartbeat. Frank was recommended to me by my good friend Doug when I asked for recs for a good car mechanic business. I have had several transactions with Frank and he has always been friendly, honest, prompt and kind. The last time we took our car to him, I was just about to give birth and my car was leaking oil. Frank was kind enough to fix the problem and drop the car off for me as I was in the hospital the following day giving birth and after that could not have time to pick up our car. The world needs more people like Frank. We are loyal customers for life with him now and will only trust him with our cars. read more

Frank has been working on cars so long I can describe the symptom of my truck and he will say "See, it is not supposed to do that". The speedometer on my truck would drop when I turned on the blinker. His shop fixed it, but also did other work and replaced worn wires. Driving it home, I was so impressed with the difference of the experience of driving my 30 year old truck, I had to call him and tell him, "Thank you" one more time over the phone. read more

Just do yourself a favor and take your car to Frank's shop. It's rare to find honest, professional and trustworthy people like Frank these days. You know what I hate about relocating to another state? (Besides all the packing and unpacking, of course!) Finding a dependable/trustworthy automotive mechanic! It is right up there with finding a reliable/honest HVAC tech, electrician and plumber. Thank you to all the other reviewers for helping me choose Frank's Import Repair Service. Frank looked at the car on Friday afternoon, gave us a ride home, and immediately ordered parts and worked on it Saturday afternoon. YES -- you read that right! He is open on Saturdays and got the job done. Not only that, but he agreed to drop off the car at my house and take a rideshare back to his shop (of course, I covered the rideshare since it was for my convenience). The old car is humming smoothly again, thanks to Frank! read more

I've been having Frank work on my Toyota since since he worked at another local place. When he started his own business nearby I happily followed him because he provides good value, and I trust his honest assessment of what my car needs. He's recommended several other businesses to me over the years for specific things that he doesn't do, like auto detailing, and I really appreciate his knowledge of the car community. read more

and I am back. Restaurants sure have changed in Concord!! Frank saved me some big money. I am a self proclaimed shade-tree mechanic. I am juuussstt knowledgable about car stuff to be dangerous and to be usually safe from some unscrupulous car repair shops. I recently found myself at one, and they were telling my car was doomed unless they could fix this stuff. I thru up the "Bat-Signal" and Frank responded. (okay, I called him with my phone; he answered). he told me to stop the other shop and it did indeed sound like theater. I knew it just sounded all wrong. my wife and I figured out how to get my truck to Frank. Which was a Saturday, meaning my truck wouldn't get investigated until Tues. fine by me. drop off truck and we ate Laotian noodle soup, and drove back to Sonoma County feeling full and knowing I was gonna get the straight honest info on Tuesday. Wednesday..truck is done!!! some repairs needed, but not the open heart surgery the other shop told me I needed. I happily paid Frank. we talked about dogs and family..and the wife and I went for some Sushi. hahah.. Franks did talk a bit about retirement. when he does, I am buying a new truck with extended warranty. go Frank!! read more

In response to Frank's response to my review on his service, that response is such full of lies. When I first called and asked if he could fix this part, and he knew what was wrong and how to fix it. For the window motor, he took off the whole door to fix the window motor. After he replaced the window motor , he had to have mess up the door lock cylinder, because when I brought my car in, I had NO problems with it what so ever. After he fixed the window motor, I couldnt even put my key into the key door slot. I would say he saw 2 young kids looking for service and decided he could scam us. He charged us $1,000 for a simple window motor fix ( only to fix one problem and make another), and to fix the MAIN problem which was fixing the trunk door that could not open. For the trunk door, he fixed the latch, but as you open and closed the trunk door, you could hear parts rattling inside. I called him up after we picked the car up in the evening after waiting all day and told him these issues, he told us he could take a look and fix it. So not only did we waste a whole day, we had to bring it in AGAIN, and wasted another whole day for him to "fix" the problem. If he claims to be the expert he was, he should not have made more problems, and fix it correctly the first time. So 2nd day, we brought the car back for him to fix everything that we paid for, and fix the problems he caused. ONLY to return to pick up our car at the end of the day, to NOTHING fixed, same problems. Its like he kept our car there, and did no work what so ever, and gave it back to us claiming everything was fixed. Trunk pieces rattling inside the trunk, driver key hole was still not fixed, couldnt even insert key. Such garbage service, and scam, like preying on 2 young kids just to scam them, lie through your teeth, upcharge for the service just to break more parts, never fulfill the service that was paid for, claim that he could fix it and break more stuff than fix the actual problem paid for. You can tell he used some cheap parts to try to make the trunk door handle open, because 1 month later, the door handle broke, and we were unable to open the trunk door again. All an owner can do for replying to some peoples bad experiences is that it will " help them learn to improve". But really, he is full of himself. this guy knew what he was doing originally when he knew he couldnt fix the main problem, and how much he was charging us. He had the nerve to tell us to come back to refix his mess, just to waste time and pretend like he worked on it. To people reading this, this a real life experience of 2 days wasted and $1k down the drain. I don't recommend this guy's business to anyone around. If you can't fix it, be truthful and dont say you specialize in these vehicles, and when something breaks on your behalf, don't go blaming saying cars are very complicated. Its one thing to lie about the job that you know you cant do correctly the first time, its another thing to waste peoples time, and another thing to cheat money out of people for such bad customer service and a bad job. read more

If you're looking for a knowledgeable an honest mechanic Frank is your guy! He repaired the starter as well as the hydraulics for the brake system on my sisters 92 Honda Accord she has over 300,000 miles on it and Frank's helping me to keep her going, he did a great job very quickly on the spot, and for a reasonable price. I just recently had him do the serpentine belt, radiator hose's, and clutch kit on my 2008 350Z Nismo (this car is my baby and I make sure that she is meticulously maintained) everything came out feeling like new! He took the time to make adjustments and make sure that I felt the car was running exactly the way I wanted it to feel! he really stands by his work, and has a good rapport with his customers. I am a picky customer and have three different cars that I maintain, and I trust Frank with all three! read more

Frank's Import Repair Service was wonderful! My husband has been going to Frank's for a long time because his service and repair knowledge was outstanding. It's a 2007 Toyota pickup and had over 280,000 miles on it, because my husband loved that truck and kept very good care of it. I hadn't really used it much since his passing. A friend recommended Frank's Import Repair Service a couple years ago and my family has been taking our cars there ever since. Frank is a great mechanic, fair, honest, reasonably priced....With my personal car, my husband's truck, 2 kids with cars and a construction company with several vehicles, we have never had an issue with his service, have never felt overcharged or that he recommended work that was not necessary. Very family oriented business, professional, courtesy, honest and gives you a fair price. His shop is clean. He works on my husband MR2 with the utmost care, because I told him this vehicle is his baby since we can't afford his true dream car. I recently, needed work on my Volkswagen Cabrio and he said no problem for the basic care. (Road trip). He pointed out item on my car that needed work on which I was surprised since I came from Wheel Works for tires and no mention of brakes which he showed me and was able to replace my brakes. Also, Wheel Works told me I had another problem and Frank said to get another opinion and I did and found out it was not an issue. Frank and son do their best to accommodate your car needs.
