Advising something like this goes against ASE recommendations where depth on both tires sharing the same axle are similar depth. This is why I asked if they happen to have a used tire that had a similar wear pattern rather than replacing it with a brand new one otherwise I would have to replace at least two on the drive axle in order for the differential to not suffer unnecessarily wear and tear. It is my understanding that they do not sell Used tires which from insurance standpoint makes sense. I was about ready to purchase all new tires, but because of this unnecessary interaction, I'm taking my business elsewhere. If he did some homework or actually went to mechanic school like this particular potential customer. He would be aware that the differential is housed in the transaxle of a front wheel drive vehicle.
