They came during the time slot quoted, and moved quick to pack and move my apartment, which had a lot of stuff. Also, for two workers and a truck, 160 an hour was a fair deal. We moved a 2 bedroom 1.5 miles within the city. Everything went wrong, from the back and forth to get the insurance requirements satisfied for the condo association (one of their employees left midstream and no one followed up), to the movers showing up with a truck that did not meet agreed upon building specifications, thus blocking a busy downtown street on a Friday afternoon, to the movers not completing the move in the day. Halfway through the move day, 2 of the 4 movers that came evaporated, leaving the other 2 unable to complete even half of the move. Not only did the remaining 2 leave our items sitting on an open truck in the middle of a downtown street unattended, they spent nearly 12 hours loading the truck and unloading only bare minimums, in such a way we didn't even wind up having a bed to sleep on that night, and we have a small child and I'm 6 months pregnant myself. They came back in the morning only to assemble the bed and get everything remaining off the trucks, and left all boxes without unpacking, even though we paid an extra grand just for unpacking. I made the mistake of going with a "discount" mover and wound up paying probably double. Worse, they damaged my kid's closet, dinged our mirror and our door along the way. Avoid! read more

This moving service was so good that I was inspired to Yelp again. They were able to help my company on short notice. They only had a full sized truck available for moving a one bedroom apartment but Franklin was able to handle the truck flawlessly backing up into a extremely tight loading dock in a busy downtown/SOMA building. They did a great job protecting this very heavy and decorative armoire and moving it down an L shaped staircase. I HIGHLY recommend Franklin's moving services. I moved from NOPA to the Mission. Franklin was able to do my last minute Memorial Day weekend move. He showed up with his team of three men right on time, conducted the move in the time period that was quoted, and was even able to accommodate an extra two hours, moving my boyfriend's belongings as well. I packed all of my boxes, and Franklin wrapped all of my furniture. Nothing was scratched or broken. Franklin said he could have helped pack/unpack if I needed help. He has boxes he can provide. Wow. I can't say enough for Franklin and his guys. They worked their asses off and hustled through our difficult move. We have large, heavy furniture and moved between two bedroom, second story walk ups in SF. The guys did it in a little over 6 hours total and only charged me for 6. They even came early per my request. They worked so hard and still were very accommodating. Franklin was extra attentive, assisting whenever they had to move through tight corners. They covered and packed our stuff well to ensure minimal damages. We moved 2 years ago with the same stuff and the movers were much slower and complained that we didn't have ikea furniture so many times. Not Franklins Team. NO-SHOW Franklin's Moving agreed to perform a simple move in San Francisco of an exercise treadmill from a gym to my home 10 blocks away. They verbally confirmed the move in the morning and said they would arrive at 4 pm. I confirmed the 4 pm arrival time by email and they acknowledged my email changing their arrival time to 4 - 5. I thought that was OK and let it slide. Later in the afternoon, I went to the bank to get the cash payment that they wanted. Then I went to the gym (in the rain) to reserve a parking spot for their truck. At 4:15 I checked my phone and received a message from Franklin that they were down the Peninsula and delayed on a large move and wouldn't arrive until between 7 and 8 pm. I texted and called them to ask that they arrive before 7 -- the time the gym closed. I asked then to call me. They didn't call. I went home, and sent an email cancelling the move with Franklin. Since they were not available the following day when it fit with the gym's schedule I estopped working with them. I then spent a few hours arranging for another moving company for the next day. Because most outfits were booked, the move cost 65% more than Franklin. CONCLUSION: They 'over-scheduled' themselves or didn't have enough movers. And maybe the rain slowed things down a bit, but trucks move in the rain. But the rain didn't slow down telephone service. They could have called me back but they were to busy to bother. I heard from them later in the evening. I was only moving a piece of gym equipment. I sure would NOT trust them with an apartment move. Not even a 'sorry' from them. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. read more

Four and a half stars for sure. I needed to hire a company for a long distance move on fairly short notice and Franklin was the guy. His prices were reasonable and he was good at answering my 7000 questions. On moving day, he and Felipe showed up right on time and got to work. No slacking off or lazing around, these men hauled ass! We made the long journey to the destination and they worked quickly again. They showed no sign of tiredness or slowing down. They were excellent at the destination, even pausing long enough for me to decide exactly where I wanted the furniture. Half star deducted because two of my saucers were broken but Franklin agreed to pay for them. I noticed I had not written "fragile" on the box so it was mostly my fault and I didn't deduct the cost from the total bill. Franklin and Felipe were professional, quick, and fun to talk to.
