We've been going there ever since it opened. It's our "go to" place. Everything is great, especially anything with brisket. We have come to know the friendly staff and feel more welcome there than any other restaurant. My favorite is brisket tacos. read more

We ate dinner at Frankie's tonight and were so displeased, we will never go back. 1st of all, it was midday, there were maybe 4 other tables seated, and we had a waiter with an attitude. Seemed like he didn't want to be there at all. Secondly, we told him it was our first time there, and asked if he could explain the menu or recommend anything, and he said, "what do you want to know?" After that, my mom ordered an enchilada dinner as did I, but they were two different ones. The meat tasted so bad. I could barely get it down, and the cheese in the enchiladas reminded me of string cheese I ate as a kid. It was cold cheese, not melty and gooey at all. We did get an appetizer teaser, three little chips with beans and meat on them. While I do appreciate the free teaser, the meat again tasted so bad. We won't be back at all. I was sadly disappointed. We were hoping it was good, since some of the reviews were good, but it was not. We'll just drive the extra few miles to El Fenix. read more

The high rating is well deserved for Frankie's. if you are looking for a good Mexican food with good flavor, this is your place. If you want something bland, continue on down the road. I had the quest dip, which was flavorful. The complimentary appetizer was nice. I wasn't crazy over it. I got the chimichanga and boy was it tasteful. Never had one with rice inside. Very filling and tasty. The margarita has a kick and a nice lime taste. Well go back for sure and recommend that you do. read more

We have eaten at Frankies four times already. We ask for Jessica everytime. She is a fantastic waitress.The food at Frankies is to die for. The chips and salsa are good and so are all the dishes we have tried so far. Last Friday night we took friends there and got the Fajitas for Four. Our friends loved them and so did we. They served us chicken, beef, shrimp and sausage on our fajita platter. We ate all we wanted and then still had leftovers for the next day. Yummy. Wylie and Sachse are lucky to have the BEST Mexican food this close to home. Great job, Frankies. Good food and fantastic service. We will be back many times. read more

We just moved to Sachse & noticed Frankie's was ALWAYS packed! Couldn't wait to try it. One night we stopped in to look @ the menu & decided to order a couple of to-go plates. The place was packed, as usual. I had chicken flautas (I am very picky about my mexican food & always go with the safe choice when trying out new places). He had the enchiladas. The meal came with chips and salsa (a plus). We got home and were so ready for this meal!! We just knew it had to be delish since there were always so many people there. My chicken flautas were fine, which is to be expected. Not much to mess up with those, also, of course they won't be phenomenal either. we were both very surprised with the enchiladas, however. They were dry, not much sauce inside or out. They weren't cheesy, or saucey ( Is that a word --you know what I'm meaning). They were just dry, rolled up tortillas with dried up meat inside. The rice was dry, not much flavor either. We were very disappointed. I don't know if they sent out the food too early, forgot a step or what, but it was NO BUENO. read more

My family and/or co-workers eat at Frankie's at least once a week. The waiters know us and they are so attentive. They know what we order and drink. The management is excellent and always stops and asks how our service was for that day. The food is fantastic and always delivered quickly. I recommend Frankie's to everyone I meet! I've been to quite a few restaurants in and around Dallas metro, and this restaurant ranks as one of my top 3 restaurants because of the food quality, quick delivery to our table, and great waiting service from beginning to end. From the outside, you might get the impression the restaurant is just a bar, but its a family restaurant and they have two seating areas. The seating area on the right is nicer, but you soon forget about where you sit after trying the chips and salsa. They have a top notch salsa. The chips do come slightly warm. Overall, everything we ordered (vegetarian meals) was excellent. The beans are vegetarian, but the rice is not. Just be clear to communicate your needs, and they will accommodate. They made no mistake on my custom orders, and it was amazingly fast turnaround. Impressive they can do that with custom orders. Flavor is phenomenal. They pay attention to your water and chip and salsa refills. They asked a number of times if we needed anything, and if I wasn't so full on the dinner, I would have tried some dessert. Oh well, another day :). In general, most restaurants in North Dallas are not much to talk about even when the ratings are high, but this is truly a good place. I'm from DC, so I know what quality restaurants are supposed to be like. They have large screen tv's also in case you don't want to miss the game. Their flour tortillas are awesome and they even offer queso and guac with your chips on request. All around, it was a great experience. My only suggestions would be when its cold, not to sit on the left side because the windows are more like plastic barriers, and you can feel a slight breeze, and seating is less comfortable. A name like Frankies doesn't do justice for the quality of the restaurant, so I would suggest a name change to something more authentic. Besides that, no other complaints. read more

I don't know what to make of this place, we started going here in April when we moved to the area. First couple visits (both on busy Friday/Saturday nights) were excellent, service was fantastic, margaritas delicious, food was very good. Last couple of visits were definitely subpar to say the least. One visit I would over look cause might have been a fluke but next visit same indifference from server ( different servers, both lousy, looked like they would rather be anywhere else)! Margaritas did not even fill-up the glass and where very watery compared to past. We always order Patron top shelf on the rocks with limes. (no it was not happy hour) and no limes? had to ask server to get them, they go oh? don't you even check what you are serving?. Forgot our appetizer on second visit. We mentioned but they said food would be up so we said don't bring it. Food was blah, brisket taco's no flavor this time. Husband had a shrimp dish that he has ordered in past and said something was off. I really liked Frankies at first but I hate being disappointed when paying for food, service and drinks. We eat out several times a week so this would have been nice and close to home. Being new to Texas and real Tex-Mex food I guess I have to look for new places, read more
