Horchata

Service incredible. I placed a to go order , I drank an horchata as I waited. When the food was ready and it was my time to go, he offered me a refill. Amazing! Salsa verde perfectly spiced and consistency. I could have easily eaten 10 more breakfast tacos. Will be back very soon. It was a nice aesthetic inside, friendly people, fantastic food.

Breakfast with my sister. The food was delicious. The ambiance,Walking in the restaurant they had little painted murals of a lot of things Mexican, from dolls to cartoon characters. The staff is very welcoming. It's definitely a casual atmosphere.

Green chicken enchiladas

A hidden gem with delicious authentic Mexican food and excellent customer service. Gorditas are a must try.

DO NOT COME TO THIS PLACE the server are too nice and polite and the art work is just to good looking and the food don't get me started it's so bad like the tacos have too much flavor and the meat is too juicy so don't come here(btw this is sarcasm the server with the tattoos is so kind)

La Cubana Súper Torta was a ten out of ten.

A quaint restaurant with very welcoming people. We ordered (2 of us) La Cubana Super Torta. It was huge and delicious.

Caldo de res

If you've forgotten what it's like to get great service at a restaurant, you must come here! From the minute you walk in, you are treated as family. The employees are friendly, and they actually smile when they talk to you. This is become so rare these days that I wanted to mention that first. Now on to the food... It's really, really good. I'm pretty sure there's not a bad dish on the menu. I had the Caldo de Res. I ordered a small bowl and it was a very large portion. Typically, the Caldo I've ordered at other restaurants has a flavorless broth. But this one is delicious and even has a little bit of a spicy kick to it. The bowl was packed with meat and a variety of vegetables. It came with a side of rice and a basket of tortillas. My husband had the enchilada plate and it came with four enchiladas, rice and beans. The only thing they don't serve here that is typical with many Mexican. Restaurants is tortilla chips. But, they do have 2 different homemade salsa's and corn tortillas. Our server checked on us at least three times while we were there, and seemed very eager to please. They really wanted us to enjoy our meal! We will definitely be coming here often.

Great authentic Mexico City menu items. Not TexMex like chain "Mexican" places. Love it!

The food has been consistently hot and fresh, of good quality overall and tasty! My wife's go to meal has been the Tacos al Carbon, which she really enjoys. The portion size has always been adequate. I've had the El Combo Plate, the El Lopez, a mixed Enchilada Plate, and Birria Tacos. I've also enjoyed everything I've eaten at El Rodeo. Recently, we opted to return to our previous go to Tex Mex restaurant (El Fenix), because of the price increases at El Rodeo. Probably the biggest advantage El Rodeo has over El Fenix is menus choices. El Rodeo's menu is more extensive. However, El Fenix has a full bar and better atmosphere. Whereas, El Rodeo does have somewhat of hole in the wall ambiance, with much simpler furnishings. As far as overall food quality, my wife and I both agree that El Fenix has the edge over El Rodeo. Interestingly, both restaurants have almost the exact same salsa recipe. Both taste fresh, but both are also fairly watery, which, for me, is a fail. I prefer a salsa with I guess more of a tomato base. I mean, I still eat the salsa at El Rodeo, but it's definitely not the star of the meal! The chips at El Rodeo are better than those at El Fenix. (I did not intend for this to be a comparison to El Fenix, it just worked out that way, because I'm a little delayed on submitting this updated review on El Rodeo.) I do very much appreciate the large drink mugs at El Rodeo. I've would have to literally chug one's drink throughout the meal to even need a single refill. The mugs are HUGE! So, we'll be back to El Rodeo despite the pricing increases, but probably not as frequently as we would like. Times are tough and value shopping, even for dine out spots, is paramount! If you try El Rodeo you won't be disappointed, so do give it a try! Eat well, Be well. Cheers!
