Here is the menu that was posted when we got there, outlining specials, soups, and desserts!

My wife and I stopped here for lunch, while our motorhome was being repaired over at Bergy Truck. What a pleasant surprise! We were met by a very pleasant host, and then again by a very pleasant waitress and things only went up from there. The salad bar was amazingly fresh, our food was delivered quickly, very hot, and everything was very fresh. The rolls were light and fluffy, and the soup out of this world. The restaurant was nicely decorated, and meticulously maintained. We would highly recommend this restaurant as a wonderful family experience.

Absolutely disgusting, do NOT come here. Go to the Franconia Cafe across the street, the food there is better.

This historic location was a rest and play stop for literary and theater New Yorkers in the 20s and 30s and probably beyond -- check out the famous signatures and notes in the albums in the main living room. The owners keep a handful of rescued farm animals (pot-bellied pigs, mini ponies, goats), and it is clear they are well cared for. It is a busy place for big wedding events now, and so we like to stay during the week. It is very relaxing to walk around the grounds. We saw a giant heron in the pond and deer strolling. There are so many nice places to sit outside with a bottle of wine and a book or snacks. Rooms are very unique and comfortable. You have a lot of different personalities to choose from: lofts, cabins, barn spaces, etc. Many have jacuzzis which can provide your evening entertainment, lol. We have not eaten in the restaurant because our top restaurant on earth is very close by, but when it was closed, Josh gave us great recommendations. And he made a lovely tofu scramble for breakfast as a special request. One sweet touch: despite checking the room, we left without my spouse's expensive phone charger. Housekeeping found it and ran after us before we could drive off without it. She did not have to do that. Always tip your housekeeping staff. The extended Covid months have been very hard on inns, restaurants, and event spaces, and it must be stressful for them as things come back to life when so many events have been postponed. It is wonderful to be back out again. We will return -- a lot.

The Barley Sheaf is very serious about pandemic precautions, so masks are in full effect, and they'll walk you to your socially-distanced table in a beautiful, outdoor gardening setting. The inn itself is an architectural delight, as well, so you are surrounded by beauty on all sides. Service was pleasant and forthcoming. I wouldn't say that this is the finest level of dining, of course, you're not expecting EMP in the middle of Bucks County, but this is a good attempt, and people are pleasant and quite dignified. The guests were all well attired and the crowd is polite and kind. Food is of the adventurous character, which I enjoy. A lot of different flavor combinations (they like to do salé and sucré), beautiful plating, interesting textures, and good cooking techniques. My favorites were the octopus appetizer (so buttery soft and tender, which is a rarity) and the pheasant special, which was a pleasant and apropos surprise in this outdoor, country setting. Finally, this is a BYOB restaurant with perfectly selected wine glasses, fine silverware, and other special touches such as a freshly starched linens, etc. which elevate the dining experience.

It puts every diner to shame. The food is absolutely fantastic! So fresh they overdeliver they even have fresh turkey sliced every day to put on their sandwiches. We just moved to Frenchtown and do not have a workable kitchen yet so we've eaten every lunch there for two weeks and try something different every time. I can't recommend a single sandwich or salad because every single one was just perfect including the soups. Don't even get me started with the staff. They're so good. They are attentive, fast, kind, everything you would wish a waste to have to be when you're tired and hungry. They just deliver. So standing ovation to the kitchen and the staff. And the atmosphere is quaint and simple, not overdone and too cute. They have outdoor seating in the warmer months and there seems to almost always be aligned so going to yelp and getting yourself on the waiting list is probably super smart. We love the Frenchtown Cafe. XO Nanci and Michael.

I also tried the soup of the day which is the chicken corn chowder and I highly enjoyed it. It's a very small cafe and not much room to move about so when it's packed it gets pretty noisy. The couple things I want to note are around how long it was to wait for a table and food. We arrived in the area around 1125am and I called to place my name on the wait-list. Upon answering, the hostess informed me you have to place your name on the waitlist in person. No issue, I walked over to do this. Only to find out that the waitlist is monitored by Yelp, which can easily be done online. So that was very frustrating to see at the start. We then were told to wait 15-20 minutes. When we got to the front of the list, they then informed us that we needed to wait an additional 20-30 minutes as the kitchen needed to flip. This was very confusing and a big turn off. Eventually, I spoke with a woman who allowed us to come inside and sit down instead of waiting outside for over an hour. It would have been nice to know at the outset of this whole interaction that breakfast wasn't going to be an option and then it would be an hour before we could order and eat. At the end of the day, we ate our great food and enjoyed being able to dine at this place. I will just look into a few more places on my next visit here.

A saltier interpretation is also easily possible, but this is a family website. The corner store on North 7th Street, Perkasie, is large, bright and airy. Windows all around make for a pleasant room to sip and chat. Additionally, the floor space is taken up with cute household goods and accessories for purchase, from honey and jam to mugs and glitchy signs. Their pastry display is mostly locally sourced or made in-house. Very attractive in a down home way. I ordered the Breakfast Hash and large Java. The La Colombe was great and the meal was served in an aluminum foil lined plastic to-go box. It was composed of diced sweet potato, onion, green pepper and plenty of chopped sausage, with rye toast wrapped in foil. It was delicious with mix of savory and sweeter flavors and two over easy eggs on top slowly leaking into the mound of veggies beneath and adding their smoothness and subtle taste to everything. I sat at the shelf in the front of the store eating and watching kids with Easter baskets searching for painted eggs. It was obvious that Perkasie puts effort into being a family town. They put a smile on my face and made my drive up county even more worthwhile.

Our server was very friendly. He seemed to care about making sure we were enjoying our meal. Actually everyone who worked there had a smile and were pleasant in their interactions. The food was good. I had a fried duck stir fried rice which was a good sized portion. They used duck fat for the stir fry. The rice tasted even better the next day when I ate the leftovers. She had the Chicken and Waffles (Belgium Waffle, Fried Chicken, Bourbon Spiced Pure Maple Syrup, Bacon Butter). The waffle was very light and fluffy. The chicken was excellent. I had the Smoked BBQ Pork Chop (house smoked bone in pork chop, sweet potato mash, brussels sprouts, BBQ sauce). It was very delicious. The restaurant is worth the almost hour drive.
