Wow, this is a neat park. This was my first time going to this park. This park is located right in the south city area and it make me feel like I was somewhere else, away from the city life for the time that I was here. The middle of the park has this pond that seems peaceful and pretty. There was a place to buy food and there was one food truck and a stand that I saw selling food and drinks when I was walking here. This park has quite a lot to offer.

One of my favorite places in STL! There are so many reasons why I love Francis Park. 1. It's super close to my house, and it has such a neighborhood feel. It's a perfect rectangle right in the middle of St. Louis Hills. It's not too big, but definitely not small either! So many things can be happening here at once. I came here daily during lockdown and it truly helped with my wellbeing! 2. The lily pond! It's so well taken care of, and adds such a peaceful feeling to the park. It has a bunch of different sculptures and statues in and around it. Very artsy looking and so unique. 3. Lots of fairs/ festivals happen here! Art in the Park, Brew in the Lou, Grub and Groove, Christmas tree lighting. The list goes on. It definitely gives a strong sense of community. 4. Rockwell Beergarden! It has been such an awesome addition to the park, and I love walking there for happy hour. I'm looking forward to getting pizza next time I'm there :)

Laying here on a blanket in Francis Park as we speak. This is my third annual Labor Day weekend visit to the park for the a Gateway Cup bike races. The reason I love this park? So much shade! Trees a'plenty for this redhead to throw down a blanket and not worry about baking in the sun. I also enjoy weaving my way through the neighborhood to see all of the beautiful architecture and overflowing window boxes. There are also several picnic tables and benches found throughout the park.

We love a good park. It was a great place to eat our ice cream and hangout in an open space with friends!

This is a truly awesome park. If you had to hand pick all the best things to put in a park, I am pretty sure this place would have exactly what you are looking for. The most important thing to talk about, clearly the lily pond. The lily pond is in the middle of the park and it's gorgeous. In the spring and summer, it's filled with flowers and pads and people just sit around reading and chatting. It's beautiful, and the fact that I have seen more than one wedding party have photos taken in front of it, prove how gorgeous it is. Also, this is one of the best running parks in the city. There is a designated 10 mile loop for runners, but there are shorter loops for less athletic runners, such as myself. The paths are just hilly enough to be challenging and kept in pristine shape. Otherwise, this park has a ton of other amazing things to offer. They have a roller hockey rink, handball courts, a playground, racquetball courts, a soccer field, tennis courts, and a whole series of summer concerts at your disposal. Also, I always feel safe in this park, even if I am cruising through late at night. I can't say I feel that way about most parks in the world, so that's really saying something.

Probably in the Top 3 of the BEST city parks of all time. No debate. I absolutely adore Francis Park... · Outstanding neighborhood. · Beautifully manicured. . Easily accessible. · Child-friendly. · Family approved. Francis Park is submerged in the St. Louis Hills neighborhood, backdropped with historical and art deco structure. There's mounds of greenery, like none other. The rolling hills and clean pathways can make any workout realized. You can't help but to gaze and engage all your surroundings. The neighborhood and park is very low-key and crime is unheard here, so no need to be on high alert. Authorities are always circling around. Man, this park is breathtaking. Especially on a beautiful, sunny day. Don't believe me? Take a gander, yourself. And if you see me, say "Hi!"

A park made up primarily of rolling hills and depressions, it is one of several square parks in this part of St Louis. It adds to the scenery and is worth walking through if you happen to be around.

It's hip to be square. This park is in the middle of a neighborhood in St Louis. It sports a few tennis courts, a walking path and a coffee shop right in the middle. I stumbled upon this park at a Yoga Buzz event. Plenty of street parking, and very safe because everyone in the neighborhood is in the park.

    Nice evening for a walk

For 12 years, my husband and I lived in South Hampton neighborhood so Francis Park was definitely a place we frequented when our kids were little. Recently, my friend and I have enjoyed walking here. The sidewalk surrounding the park is a nice 1 mile walk. The park features tennis courts, handball courts, a large playground, soccer and baseball fields and plenty of space to play, sit, relax or exercise. The interior path has a lovely water feature and small art sculptures that add to the beauty of nature. There is a concert series in the summer and the park is the sight of many local festivals like Grub n Groove and Art in the Park. It is also the home of Lanai Coffeehouse. Beautiful, old, brick, city homes border the park on each side. So no matter where you are in the space your view is charming and lovely. It's easy to see that Francis Park is the heart of the St. Louis Hills neighborhood.

    Great Park!

But- parking... Brentwood Parks And Recreation needs to align with the city to help with signage for parking. The lot is not large enough (maybe 60 spaces not positive) to have two directions. Even with it being clear to many that the natural flow was counterclockwise, a few felt the need to go against the natural flow. Then the streets around the park were full causing the streets capable of only allowing for a single lane of traffic. Even with a clear flow and literally no room for cars traveling in opposite directions... some attempted to push in, causing longer stand stills. It's like trying to go to the zoo/forest park on the weekends. But the park itself is fun!!! I do wish there was more shaded areas within the park itself. Parking needs to be fixed... there is no way an emergency vehicle could have gotten in to help if help was needed. That is a big concern.

Also, it's very open and I can see all parts of the park so even thought it's not fenced, it just feels safe. The kids love that part of it is a tree that you climb inside. Bathrooms are close so great for potty training toddlers who have to go RIGHT NOW. There are 4 picnic tables in the pavilion, 2 drinking fountains and some sunshades with benches. We had our kids' birthday party there and it went extremely well. Super affordable to rent! The only downside is one parking lot is a flat trek to the playground but a longer one and the other parking lot is fairly close but you have to walk down a big hill and so then also back up. So anyone who is more limited with ambulation or someone who fatigues very quickly may not find this playground particularly accessible. Otherwise it is a super fun and simple playground!
