This is a nice park in the heart of Chesterfield. However, despite being in the heart of Chesterfield (close to the interstate, the amphitheater and library), it was very quiet and hardly anyone was there. We came to see the Sculpture "The Awakening" which is a massive sculpture of a giant who is struggling to get out of the ground. It's not a single sculpture but five separate sculptures that make up "The Awakening". Great park to visit - not only for the sculpture but for some peace and quiet. read more

My husband and I came here when we came to St. Louis last week initially because I wanted to see "The Awakening" sculpture, but overall, we loved it for many other reasons, as well! When we first got here, we noticed the park is in a pretty secluded area, and not many people were around unless they were going to the library that is connected to the parking lot. There are so many different parts of this park, including "The Awakening" sculpture, an amphitheater, a walking trail with a waterfront, and a Veterans memorial. The park was very clean, and we loved everything we experienced. The sculpture was so cool and is basically a steel man broken up into different separated body parts, who looks like he is trying to free himself from the ground. It's unbelievable how big this is in person, and we loved it. The Veterans Memorial was gorgeous and included significant quotes, a fountain, and American flags with every branch of the military included. The waterfront and trails were gorgeous, and we saw many HUGE ducks, cardinals, and wildlife. We loved the isolated walking trail because it had such beautiful views. Homes are being built around there, too, and the water would be such a gorgeous view to have every day from a home window. We weren't able to go to the amphitheater because they were getting ready for a summer night free concert event, but when we left, many people were gathering to go to the event. You can bring your own beer as long as it's in a can, so that's awesome and unlike many other public areas! Overall, if I lived in St. Louis, I could see myself regularly coming to this park and the surrounding area often. It's definitely a tranquil place where you can be one with nature and enjoy the views and entertainment. read more

This remains our favorite park to bring Teddy for walks. Things that make this park work well for us include convenience near our place, the maintenance of the park including the multiple trash cans available along with waste bags easily available to the public. Also good walking path for Teddy due to him being a senior dog and he gets tired easily and we like knowing there are multiple benches / seating options throughout the walking path. We continue to make this a place to bring Teddy when we need more outside activity time with him. read more

On the other side of Chesterfield Pkwy W. Taste of St. Louis was held here a couple times a few years back. Looks like they're gearing up for the Turkey Trot, some things were blocked off today. I had no problem finding parking and a place to eat though. The hard part was picking a spot. Winter will arrive eventually, but it's not quite here yet. If you're looking for a place to enjoy some outside time before it gets really miserable and cold, I'd suggest giving this place a look. Don't wait too long. I like to walk to stay healthy and this park is close to my work. A friend and I met up there last week after work. There is a lot to do at this park. I typically bypass the playground and follow the walking trail around the lake. I do enjoy the art around the park. This is also a good spot to relax and do a little fishing. read more

Plenty of parking and a very nice walking trail around the area that goes around the lake and past the amphitheater The amphitheater has events coming up so check out the Chesterfield website so you won't miss out on the fun. Came here for one of the summer concerts after taking a walk through the trails behind the amphitheater. Great venue, super organized, and semi-decent concessions. The theater is clean and well manicured, and the stage is beautifully designed for projecting the acoustics to the upper tiers where we sat. Bring blankets, chairs, any food or drink, even, but no glass containers. Aside from the lack of decent parking, my only complaint is the lack of garbage cans placed strategically across the many levels. My sanctuary! This park is absolutely beautiful. Not too big where you'd get lost inside but big enough to spread out and enjoy a tranquil seat on an isolated park bench overlooking the waterfront, walk the 1 mile trail, jog the amphitheater stairs, bring your kids for a joyful time in the designated full playground area, have a gathering under the covered picnic table area or go fishing in the attached pond. The restrooms are the cleanest I've ever experienced in a public park. The one's up top are usually unlocked all day but the lower level restrooms are typically locked for some reason. So if you have to use it be prepared for light travel depending on your current location within the park. Across the street is the monument of a man apart; arm, foot, leg, head made of stone. It's amazing and makes a pretty dope photo-op. Kids love to climb on this thing. read more

Beautiful, scenic, and tranquil park that engages visitors with nature. There is a nicely paved walkway that wraps around nicely landscaped lake. The walkway winds off into the woods in certain parts, and even turns into a natural dirt trail for a short stretch. There are numerous bridges that cross over a few streams that feed into the lake, as well as a large main bridge that crosses a large portion of the lake. The park sits right below the Chesterfield Amphitheater, and despite being a short distance from Chesterfield mall and highway 40, you get the feeling that your in a peaceful place outside of town. I visited Central Park recently and was accompanied by my Siberian Husky, who seemed to enjoy the park as much as I did. This park is definitely underrated! This place has everything that kids or even adults might need. Recently it hosted the Taste of St Louis. Which was a honor to be honest for a place like chesterfield. They do host regular concerts in their amphitheater. Opposite to it is the famous dying man statue (or whatever it is called) The part features a nice mile or less long loop, very good for walkers/joggers. It's asphalt so easy to get those baby strollers. Beautiful fountain and small bridges do make it a nice place for a photoshoot. I do see people come here with photographers. Btw, if you are lucky enough you will encounter a deer. And if you are not that lucky you will definitely see the geese! Watch out, they might bite :-) read more

My niece loves this place. The park is located of Lydia Hill, and houses the Chesterfield Amphitheater, the Chesterfield Family Aquatic Center, the Chesterfield Pavilion, the Chesterfield Gazebo, as well as a hiking trail and lake. In addition, it is home to The Awakening, you know the cool art work with the hands and face coming out of the ground that we all climb on. The park was a play area geared for 2-5 year old as well as 5-12 year old. It is doggie friendly and they have baggies so that owners can go for walks and take care of Fido's business at the same time. The paths are awesome and my daredevil nephew loves to ride his bike on them and all paths loop around the lake. :) Kudos to Chesterfield. read more

I've been here twice now, both for free concerts at the pavilion. This place is great! I couldn't believe I was in Chesterfield! Nice manicured terraced lawn and covered seats down front for concerts. Beer runs about $5 a bottle and the bathrooms are clean. Nice photo ops for the evening shows that feature gorgeous sunsets in the background. I can't wait to explore the rest of the park. It looks like there is a walking trail that is partially wooded. They just opened a new amphitheater in Central Park. My husband and I went to opening nght when Edwin McCain was playing. It was a really nice evening. The amphitheater and grounds were very nice.
