Boardwalk - longest in St. Louis
    Gregory S.

Chesterfield's true hidden gem. Not too many people. Great for walks with your family and dogs. They have bat boxes on trees to attract bats and keep insects out. Great view of the river and the lake in one place. Contains the longest boardwalk in St. Louis.

The looping path is about 1.9 miles long, but you can add an extra tenth of a mile if you head off trail to the Missouri River. It's pretty clear when you need to leave the path to get to the river lookout, worn from many people heading off path. The path is flat, so it would be a great place to put some miles in. The view around doesn't change much, so you aren't going to get a change in scenery. However the number of trees the beavers have chewed up was fascinating! Every direction you look is another stumpy tree trunk or evidence of fresh gnawing. It was absolutely incredible. We didn't see any actual beavers, but we did see potential dens/holes on the bank of the lake. You can also see evidence of flooding if you look closely at the tree trunks. Well, maybe not closely. You've got to look out into the distance and you'll notice the trees are lighter at about eye level, showing the the water was once that high. Again, nature is pretty cool at to what it can overcome. Parking is at one end of the outlet mall. You should see a sign before you even get to the outlet mall. If you pass it, you can always go behind the outlet mall and circle back. The levee trail separates the parking lot from the trail, so head over the levee trail and down the the River's Edge Trail.

One of my favorite parks. Very serene and tons of wildlife! Easy path to walk around the lake - about a 2 mile loop

This is a nice park in the heart of Chesterfield. However, despite being in the heart of…read moreChesterfield (close to the interstate, the amphitheater and library), it was very quiet and hardly anyone was there. We came to see the Sculpture "The Awakening" which is a massive sculpture of a giant who is struggling to get out of the ground. It's not a single sculpture but five separate sculptures that make up "The Awakening". Great park to visit - not only for the sculpture but for some peace and quiet.

My husband and I came here when we came to St. Louis last week initially because I wanted to see…read more"The Awakening" sculpture, but overall, we loved it for many other reasons, as well! When we first got here, we noticed the park is in a pretty secluded area, and not many people were around unless they were going to the library that is connected to the parking lot. There are so many different parts of this park, including "The Awakening" sculpture, an amphitheater, a walking trail with a waterfront, and a Veterans memorial. The park was very clean, and we loved everything we experienced. The sculpture was so cool and is basically a steel man broken up into different separated body parts, who looks like he is trying to free himself from the ground. It's unbelievable how big this is in person, and we loved it. The Veterans Memorial was gorgeous and included significant quotes, a fountain, and American flags with every branch of the military included. The waterfront and trails were gorgeous, and we saw many HUGE ducks, cardinals, and wildlife. We loved the isolated walking trail because it had such beautiful views. Homes are being built around there, too, and the water would be such a gorgeous view to have every day from a home window. We weren't able to go to the amphitheater because they were getting ready for a summer night free concert event, but when we left, many people were gathering to go to the event. You can bring your own beer as long as it's in a can, so that's awesome and unlike many other public areas! Overall, if I lived in St. Louis, I could see myself regularly coming to this park and the surrounding area often. It's definitely a tranquil place where you can be one with nature and enjoy the views and entertainment.

Even though it was a…read morelittle slick on the downhill with all the leaves on the ground, the trail was well-maintained. This trail is a linear trail so you're either going to do an out and back or your can opt to walk around the rest of the park via sidewalks and road. It is labeled as a black diamond but I would call it a "Missouri black diamond." The hills can be steep for some but the trail is plenty wide enough to step to the side and catch your breath, if you need.

Subject: Request for Date Change - Faust Park Reservation (04/04/26)…read more I understand and respect that policies and regulations are in place for a reason. However, I am respectfully requesting that an exception be considered in our situation. Our family hosts an annual Easter event each year at Faust Park, and we currently have a reservation scheduled for April 4, 2026. Unfortunately, the forecast is showing a 95% chance of rain for that day, which would significantly impact our ability to safely and comfortably host our gathering. We have already begun exploring alternative options, including moving the event to a family member's home, but this presents challenges given the size of our gathering. Instead of canceling outright, we reached out to request a date change to August 8, 2026, which we understand is available. We were informed that changes or refunds require a 30-day notice. However, it is difficult to predict severe weather conditions that far in advance. Our request is not to cancel without cause, but simply to move our reservation to another available date so we can continue to use and support your facility. As returning customers, we value hosting our event at Faust Park and were hoping there might be some flexibility under these unforeseen circumstances. We sincerely hope a reasonable solution can be reached. Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to your response. Sincerely, Lashawn Lee
