Had an amazing time at our SUP lessons! Thanks Jess for a great ride! It was hotter than s*** the day we went so the water felt great...not that we were in it much Jess even taught our crew how to do a head stand on the board and 2 out of 4 succeeded. Those are pretty darn good odds. Our crew was in STL for work and we were so lucky to find this gem of an adventure!

Another great find in St. Louis!!! I love, love, love SUPs! When I saw a Groupon for 45 minutes of Yoga and then 30 minutes of open paddling, I knew I had to give it a go! The Groupon was $34 for two people, which was awesome. With that said, their regular prices aren't bad either. This class is only $25 a person without the Groupon. They also have SUP fitness classes for $25, which look great based on the pictures I saw on Facebook. Finally, they have an intro to paddle boarding (SUP 101) for $40 (1 hour and 45 minutes). You can also rent paddle boards if you've taken a class with them before ($15 for an hour and $25 for 2 hours). I've never done Yoga before, so I didn't have a lot of expectations. We spent the first 10-15 minutes focusing on our breath, and then the rest of the time trying foundational Yoga poses (e.g., downward dog, plank, etc.). I thought it was really relaxing and Christy, who was our instructor, was very friendly, encouraging, and calming. After her instruction, my husband and I freely explored Simpson Lake, which was nice. I thought the lake was a really good size and super still. A few other notes....in addition to Simpson Lake, they also do classes in Chesterfield at River's Edge Park. I can't say much about Chesterfield, but I found the Simpson Lake location relatively easy to find. Your GPS might be off a little (mine was), but the sign for the lake is pretty big and hard to miss on the side of the road. After you turn into the parking lot, it is pretty easy to spot SUP St. Louis and their paddle boards. In terms of apparel, you can either wear workout clothes or a swimsuit. Just be prepared that you might fall in so don't wear anything you don't want to get wet. Also, if you are uncomfortable leaving your phone/keys behind on shore since there aren't any lockers/secure storage options, make sure to bring something waterproof that you can take out on the lake. Be sure to use the restrooms before you paddle out! I made the mistake of paddling out with a full bladder and was very regretful that I did not take advantage of the relatively clean ones right by the lake. Finally, I think this class is good for anyone, although it helps if you have experience either with a paddle board (like my husband and I did) or with yoga. Overall, a pretty reasonable price for a very enjoyable afternoon. I will definitely check it out again!

Friendly professional staff. They are down to earth and know their stuff. The equipment is top of the line and so is their operation on lessons and events

SUP StLouis board on gorgeous and mellow Simpson lake.

Called Shane last minute to ride today and even though he was teaching a camp in chesterfield he made it happen. Thanks Daren for gearing us up today... it was a gorgeous day to paddle and swim. Shane always responds quickly to my calls and texts. He and Deron are professional, friendly, and helpful. Much appreciation guys.

    Some paddle boarders!

First time paddle boarding and I was not too thrilled about it, however, it was the best two hours of my day!!!

Kelley is an amazing teacher and I'm excited to try more classes. Also, the wooden floors in this studio smell so good! which is not something I normally notice at a business but when youre exercising on the floor, nice clean floors make a huge difference! I've been to two classes, both included the celestial lighting on the ceiling which is beautiful.

I love everything about this studio...the owner is fantastic, the instructors are varied but all are top-notch, the space is inviting and they have all of the props, their class schedule aligns well with my schedule, and they are less than 10 from my house. What's not to love about all of that?!?! The coolest thing about this studio is that all of their classes and instructors focus on helping students improve on their practice. There is always space in the class that allows students to personalize their practice or work on focus areas. There are also all kinds of events and pop-up classes that are included in membership - I'm pretty excited for the celestial flow class this weekend! Would I return: Yep, so much so that I bought a membership Would I recommend: YES - I LOVE THIS PLACE AND ALL IT STANDS FOR Service Dog Grade: N/A - have not yet tried this with Piper. Kelley is open to the idea but I'd need to work with Piper to make sure it didn't unexpectedly turn into dog yoga

The general assumption at both Yoga Six locations I attended was that if you were new to Yoga Six, you were new to yoga, which was...odd. The studio is beautiful, and ultra contemporary, if that's your style. Some of the instructors do a ton of talking when they could simply name a move (eg, they'll say "now lower your left heel, now raise your left heel, now lower your right heel, now raise your right heel," instead of simply saying "walk the dog"), which may be an attempt to be new-yogi-friendly. It's a small thing but I found the amount of required listening to be exhausting. My favorite instructor was Dana. She's very down-to-earth and encourages you to listen to what your body needs in that moment, rather than being concerned with performance or fixating on the technicalities of a pose, which I appreciated. Buti with Traci was also super fun! What turned me off (in addition to their prices) was that this location wasted no time in soliciting to my emergency contact. (I expect this from a used car salesman, but my yoga studio??) To me this was pretty inappropriate, and a violation of boundaries/my developing trust. I've cancelled my membership.
