Nice park with a butterfly house, historic homes, carousel, and trails. They have great summer concerts too.

We took advantage of the warmer weather and hiked the Thornhill Trail today. Even though it was a little slick on the downhill with all the leaves on the ground, the trail was well-maintained. This trail is a linear trail so you're either going to do an out and back or your can opt to walk around the rest of the park via sidewalks and road. It is labeled as a black diamond but I would call it a "Missouri black diamond." The hills can be steep for some but the trail is plenty wide enough to step to the side and catch your breath, if you need. read more

Subject: Request for Date Change - Faust Park Reservation (04/04/26) I understand and respect that policies and regulations are in place for a reason. However, I am respectfully requesting that an exception be considered in our situation. Our family hosts an annual Easter event each year at Faust Park, and we currently have a reservation scheduled for April 4, 2026. Unfortunately, the forecast is showing a 95% chance of rain for that day, which would significantly impact our ability to safely and comfortably host our gathering. We have already begun exploring alternative options, including moving the event to a family member's home, but this presents challenges given the size of our gathering. Instead of canceling outright, we reached out to request a date change to August 8, 2026, which we understand is available. We were informed that changes or refunds require a 30-day notice. However, it is difficult to predict severe weather conditions that far in advance. Our request is not to cancel without cause, but simply to move our reservation to another available date so we can continue to use and support your facility. As returning customers, we value hosting our event at Faust Park and were hoping there might be some flexibility under these unforeseen circumstances. Faust Park is a beautiful park, simply put. It has so many different areas to take a hike, it has one of the best playgrounds in the county, and it also has a butterfly house and carousel on site. The Sophia M Sachs Butterfly House is one of the coolest exhibits I've seen, and everything is very affordable. I appreciate all that Faust Park has to offer. read more

Faust Park is really at the top of it's class. This park spans nearly 200 acres in Chesterfield, MO. Do not just stop at the playground, be sure and walk behind the newer buildings and enter a time warp into the 1800's. There are multiple parking lots at Faust Park. Restrooms and water fountains are available in three locations. Large trees provide shade during the hot St. Louis summers. The playground area has benches under sun shades. The playground has slides, a rock wall, swings, crawling and climbing areas, and tunnels. Faust Park offers visitors nature walks, The Butterfly House, St. Louis Carousel, large playground, picnic sites, historic home village, summer concert series, private parties, weddings, a music school, and more. This is a year round park that is sure to please all ages. read more

One of the jewels of Chesterfield is Faust Park, home of the Butterfly House. This park has something for everyone! There's a nice, decent sized playground with climbing rocks for children, lots of trails for walking, a nice lake, and the Butterfly House. The Butterfly House is a nice, well-kept greenhouse that houses various butterflies. Guests can come in and walk around (it's not terribly large though), and sit among the flowers and vegetation while being greeted by butterflies. What's not to like? I was in a friend's wedding here about 10 years ago and the ceremony and reception were both held here. The grounds offered a lovely outdoor wedding and tented reception. Also, all of the guests were able to enter the Butterfly House for free. It was very nice. The Butterfly House charges an admission fee normally. There's also a lot of log cabins and historic buildings on the grounds here that you can see while walking on the trails, as well as St. Louis Carousel. I've never been inside but they do have a carousel that is open to the public. read more

This historical old park in Faust is a beautiful little stroll with the family or break way from the "hustle and bustle" of Chesterfield! ha ha. This isn't necessarily a place you'd visit on its own; luckily, there's an adjacent playground, carousel, and butterfly house to keep the kids busy all day long! It's nice to walk around and look at these historical buildings to see "the way things used to be", but it's not a destination that'll keep your kids occupied for long. The great thing about Faust Park, though, is the location. It's on Olive in the middle of West County... very accessible and open until dusk. This definitely is a must-hangout location, if you're living out in the West County. It's a great place to chill with your family - especially if you have children. But since, I am a single dude, I never utilized the park's great features like: the Butterfly house, the St. Louis Carousel, the historical Faust village, the outdoor playground, etc. This past Saturday, I wanted to find a new short trail for my run, so I have ventured into the park's forest trail (Thornhill ~2.0 miles). I would not recommend this trail for a run, because it was way too hilly. But I was amazed at its awesome scenic view. I really had to second guess whether I was really in Chesterfield, MO. See my pics! And yes, I am a crackberry addict, who runs with my phone. This is a great trail for you to take a leisurely walk to enjoy the beauty of the nature. It will def. take you out of the West Country Surburbian life! read more

Faust Park I would say is one of the better parks that West County has to offer. In the land of the suburbs, this place could be considered the enchanted kingdom of trees, grass, benches, and home of the St. Louis Carousel, which was installed in 1929 in Highland Park, which burned down and it was the only thing to survive. The carousel is the equivalent say Excalibur. Eventually the carousel would be installed at Sylvan Spring Park until it would find it's way to Faust Park. There, indoors, but still with a full view of the world that is around it, the carousel sits in it's magnificent glory out of the elements but surrounded by them. Faust Park also has other things to offer as well. They have a old time village and they also house the butterfly house and in the summer time they host music and fireworks. Faust Park is a great place to go with friends and family. read more

This is a family fun event if u are in this area, historic houses where settlers stay with barn, school house,store, church, fence to keep livestock in, the doors are locked but u can look in the windows, the place is spread out, in the back lot is carousel that all ages would luv , play ground for the kids to run off the engery, off to left is a big building with a big sign butterfly house, the place is doom building and didn't go I just look because I had Lady in the car and it was getting hot, this was a Sunday and lots of people where there, looking at butterfly!! The historic buildings aren't really my thing. It's a nice park though! We were there for the small Folk Fair they had in late September. There were people dressed up demonstrating how people of old used to live and work. This would be a great day to go if you were interested in all of that. The park has ample space for picnics and playing some catch. The best thing about the place would be the Butterfly House. read more

Another of the crown jewels in the St. Louis County Park System. Faust park is not that expansive, but it has a ton of things to offer. This park not only has beautiful landscaping, nice walking paths, fireworks in the summertime and music festivals, but even rarer things. The Butterfly house is certainly a high light of the park and is a great place to go on a nice day with kids or just to walk around. Also, the St. Louis Carousel is probably the coolest thing in the park. Other than Six Flags, I can't think of anywhere else in the area with a carousel like this. There's also an old time village that's completely worth checking out. This is probably one of the best parks to bring a family for a full morning of entertainment if not more. Also a beautiful place to pack a picnic and just hang out. I don't know why St. Louis County does their parks like this but it seems like when they have a good one, wow, they cram it with some amazing stuff, and then the rest, well, they get some benches and maybe a swing set....Faust Park, however, well, they got lucky and St. Louis County did them VERY well. read more

Although you wouldn't know if driving through the valley, Chesterfield does, in fact, have a history that doesn't include Wal-Mart pre-Super Center. Someone had the foresight to relocated several older buildings from the area to Faust Parkk, where we can have a look at what used to be. Not that an old house is that unusual or breathtakingly beautiful, but with so much of St. Louis county mowed down for subdivisions and strip malls, it's good to be able to pretend you're going back to a simpler time and imagine what this area was like a hundred years ago. The carousel is another good reason to visit. It likewise takes us back in time, but also still thrills the little ones. My five-year-old rode twice and wanted more. For a buck a ride, why not? (I'll tell you why, because we had already done the Butterfly house and she still had to work over the playground...and it's a pretty big playground.) Faust Park might not be a thrill a minute, but it'e a great place to bring the famnily for a few hours and I'n proud to live in a county that invests in history. read more

Great park, fun playground, and lots of nature surrounding it. Great for a pic-nic and play area or an outing to the butterfly house. We had our son's first birthday party at the carousel. We rented the party room and brought our own food and cake. The kids got unlimited rides on the carousel. They also offer lots of fun special events and play groups. They have a calendar full of events for all ages of children. We are going to the candycane hunt this year. Sort of like an Easter egg hunt, but for Christmas. My son loves this park and so do I. read more

Faust Park is an interesting place in Chesterfield that has this historic little village that looks like something out of a Mark Twain novel. There is a gravel walking trail that connects the separate areas of the park. On the left side of the park is a pond and the Butterfly House, which features films and all kinds of educational information on the butterflies as well as the butterflies themselves. Going towards the middle of the park will bring you to the Carousel building and the playground. I tried going in the Carousel building once, but as I didn't have a kid with me, I drew nervous attention from the parents and so I quickly left. Therefore, I cannot really review the Carousel; but the playground is fun! On the right side of the park is the historic village that has various houses from the 1800s. Sometimes on weekends there are people dressed up in historical clothing at the houses. They teach the kids about what life was like in the 1800s, and sometimes they even weave and demonstrate blacksmithing. The park isn't that big, but it still has a lot to offer, and is usually quite busy on the weekends. read more

What a fabulous first experience at Faust Park! Immediately we knew this was a popular event because Olive Blvd. was lined with parked cars for several blocks. After finding a parking spot in a neighborhood just off of Olive/Ladue Rd., we walked towards the park and could hear the Bob Kuban Band playing and families chattering. After entering the park, we easily found a comfortable place to open up our lawn chairs, cracked open a few ice cold IPA's and snacks from our mini-cooler and enjoyed the show. The Bob Kuban band was very interactive, inviting both children and adults onto to the stage to participate in the electric slide and chicken dance. They also played popular favorites by Lady Gaga, Adele, Etta James as well as classics like "Twist and Shout". During intermission, cake from Knodel's Bakery & Catering was served, which was absolutely delicious, by the way. Onsite food trucks included: Sarah's Meltdown, Shell's Coastal Cuisine, Chop Shop, Taste of the Hill Pizza and KONA Ice. The night ended with a fireworks show put on by the Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce. What an enjoyable, FREE night of fun! read more

Had a family reunion at the pavilion in June 2014. It couldn't have been a nicer venue. Immaculately clean, playground near by but landscape maintained privacy of event, carousel, village and Butterfly house for extra entertainment. Easy to walk around for seniors and toddlers.
