Update to my previous review. It seems this bakery has really gone down in terms of service. Speaking from the last 5 times I've gone The young girls that work there constantly stand and do nothing as clearly customers wait patiently for service. Some barking at each other at who is doing cash who is doing bread etc rather than actually just going to help the customers. The whining in the store is unreal honestly have to go and see it yourself. Zero professionalism. They don't want to do anything and all want to pass off work to another girl. When they finally service you they look like they're going to cry because they have to actually work. I am not even kidding. Shame because they actually put out good food but I can't go back waiting 10 minutes for someone to help me with a dessert than wait again for someone to cash me out when I'm the only customer in the store. read more

Ordered several types of gelato and partries with my 3 kids. Mango gelato tasted bland, almost putrid, peach gelato had very little peach flavor. My son wouldnt eat it. Pistacio and Hazelnut were much better. When we tried to get someone's attention to address the gelato our original server dissappeared and all others seemed like busy bees, not very friendly. I wouldnt go here again. read more

Ok I will say it. They have the BEST Cannoli in Toronto. Grab the mini or regular size and you won't be disappointed! The ricotta filling is always fresh and the cannoli shell is nice and crispy. Even the next day! We've order a cake in the past and it was super fresh! The hot table is awesome here. I have yet to come during her lunch rush but there was plenty left for the dinner crowd! The staff is very friendly and will answer any questions you may have. Go in for some lunch/dinner and don't forget the cannoli! read more

Aside from being a very kind gesture, I presume the place was closing soon. The cookie was maybe 2.50 CAD, if I recall correctly, and it was good. I was slightly worried that it would be too sweet, but the caramel flavor wasn't super strong, and there was a good mixture of that and a light banana flavor. It was also surprisingly not too dry for how late it was. Overall, it was tasty, and the drink was also good.

The green noodle-shaped topping is actually made from a kind of bean paste - not much matcha taste, but had a strong bean flavour instead. And again, it was too sweet to my liking. Taro Tart - This one was good. Taro-flavoured cream on top, with taro paste underneath, then a layer of custard with mochi at the bottom. Had a rich taro flavour. Every bakery that I visit on a whim continues to reinforce the idea that I should always follow my hedonistic caprices for sweets. Despite being pre-filled, the fried pastry shell is delightfully crispy and light, holding up well to the ricotta filling. Each bite strikes a balance of sweetness and tangy cheesiness, with a smooth texture that contrasts its shell. Layering on levels of dark chocolate and nuts, the Setteveli interlaced dark chocolate ganache and mousse with hazelnut cream and praline gianduja crunch to create a rich, chocolate-forward experience. read more

We had the breakfast sandwich, which was so scrumptious and savoury; very unique delicate flavours. We also had cheddar chive biscuit, which was also so subtly delicious - love the infused taste. The coffee drinks were also delicious, especially the mocha one. I would definitely swing by here whenever i'm in the area! Interested in trying all their other variety of items!

The ambiance was quite animated with age groups ranging all over the place. I am also somewhat of a macaron connoisseur, so I was curious and pleasantly surprised that they make their own on site, versus buying them from one of the better ghost kitchens.

I just wanted to get takeout andjleave. But they've gone through a whole renovation, and now the place is bright, open, airy. It's a total 180 in terms of the vibe, as you kids say. A picture is worth a thousand words! The brewed coffee was so good too. Free refills and you fill yourself. I didn't know that so I sat at my table for long time with the empty cup they gave me at front desk. They should tell people it's self serve. Initially they came to our table with menus so I thought they'd bring coffee to table. Nope. Lots of tables to sit at and it was nice and quiet atmosphere. They have outside sitting too. It's a short walk from Coxwell subway station. Lots of beautiful cakes and pastries on display too. I'm definitely coming back for the crepes again and other dishes on the menu.

La Strada Bakery

In a quiet corner of Woodbridge, La Strada Bakery defies easy categorization -- and therein lies…read moreits singular charm. What presents itself modestly as a neighbourhood Italian bakery reveals, upon closer acquaintance, something altogether more intriguing: a transatlantic pastry dialogue between the Old World and South America, shaped by the hands of a Uruguayan chef who brings both traditions to bear with quiet confidence. The cannoli are, without equivocation, the crown jewel of this establishment. Piped to order, the filling achieves a textural ideal -- sweetly yielding, impeccably creamy, and notably free of the aggressive lemon notes that so often overwhelm lesser versions. The shell delivers a satisfying, delicate crunch, its restraint allowing the ricotta cream to assert itself as the undisputed protagonist. These are cannoli that would draw admiration well beyond the borders of Woodbridge. One ought not to overlook the sfogliatelle, rendered here in golden, shattering layers, nor the cherry-filled donuts -- generously proportioned, freshly made, and possessed of a quality that lingers in memory long after the visit. The facturas, custard-filled and dusted with care, speak fluently to the South American soul of the kitchen, while the empanadas offer a savoury counterpoint of notable finesse. The space itself is intimate to the point of cosiness -- a handful of seats, a tall central table, and a glass case brimming with the day's offerings. The pace is unhurried, the atmosphere warmly domestic. Tony, the proprietor, greets each guest with a hospitality that feels entirely genuine -- the kind of welcome that transforms a transaction into something closer to a visit with an old friend. If one were to offer a gentle note, it might be that the sheer breadth of the offering -- Italian classics alongside Uruguayan specialties and homemade ravioli -- occasionally tests the boundaries of the compact space. Yet this abundance, curated with evident passion, is ultimately more virtue than flaw. La Strada is a bakery for those who understand that the finest pleasures are often found where one least expects them.

Clean and roomy, with multiple tables along the wall. My fav thing to get is either the mortadella sandwich (nice kick from pickled veg) or lobster tails. A bit overpriced, but think that's what you pay for the neighbourhood's rent, and still, quite delicious. Sometimes the cookies and biscotti seem to have been there for a while and taste quite stale. One of my issues here was that for the longest time, prices were not clearly on display -- thank goodness they finally decided to fix that. While I would not go out of my way, still a convenient spot to drop by if you are around the area.
