So happy I found Frames on 3rd. Rob and Luis made something out of nothing and stayed within my budget to say the least! What I asked for was being quoted at 4x times the price at any other shop, most frame places actually decline jerseys because of the meticulous work it deems. I purchased a University of Illinois frame MOUNT on accident and it came with this huge ugly tv backing on it. If we did what the instructions said it would have came out tacky. Rob and Luis took the plexiglass that said "Illinois" (which was most important) off the mount and created something so perfect and sentimental to this gift for my boyfriend. The stitching was so clean and aligned perfect. 10/10!! read more

I cannot say enough good things about this place. We had a wooden board with calligraphy on it from our wedding last year that we wanted framed. John helped us with it, and we could not be any happier with the end result. When we walked in without an appointment or phone call in advance on a Saturday afternoon, John helped us right away by pulling sample frames and mats off the walls for us. He listened to our vague requirements, gave us recommendations on how to match the frame color, and stood by patiently while we debated every which combination. I was nervous leaving such a sentimental piece with him, but it turned out fantastic. We were told that it would take a week to complete the custom framing. John completed the work in 4 days. Under promise, over deliver -- check! We love the look of our piece and can't wait to get it hung up. Just wanted to update this. I took a painting in to be framed last week. Earlier in the day, I had been to Michael's, the arts and crafts chain store, for an estimate on framing that same painting. With some moderate help from Michael's, I picked out a frame I liked -- and they priced it at $270 including tax (23x35" painting). But, I like Frames on 3rd, and I definitely try to purchase local before going to a chain. So I went back to Frames on 3rd. For starters, they had much better cheap options than Michael's. But I wasn't only concerned about price -- I wanted a great frame. So the staff spent 15-20 minutes walking me through different options and throwing out suggestions. Much better than Michael's. Finally, we picked the perfect frame, and it came out to $300, including tax. For a 10 percent premium, I got to support local business and get a much higher quality product and better service. read more

Great, very efficient business. Very happy to receive a quote over the phone that was accurate and honored. The piece I brought in was probably a bit annoying to work with because it has mirrored 2" gallery wrap borders, but nothing extra beyond those 2 inches for wrapping -- what a pain! But they totally nailed lining the edges up just right on the frame. Cheaper than the few other places I checked, and bonus points for being so close to home. I've had three fabrics framed here. End results are beautiful, price is very reasonable and the timelines to complete the work are fairly fast. However, the service I have received has been somewhat questionable, and they apparently simply cannot get the completed work protected for transportation. I have cleaned up smudges from the fabrics now twice. This last time I specifically asked to have the fabric protected, and I was promised it will take place. It didn't. When I called about it, I was told that I must have spoken with another person, this person did not know about it, he is sorry and have a good day. I plan to frame another fabric and apparently need to look into other providers to do it for me, since something this obvious doesn't get done the right way. read more

Frames on 3rd did FANTASTIC work. When they opened up the butcher paper to show me what they had done, "wow" was all I could say. Framing and presentation was fantastic, quality work. And it was across a variety of formats and presentations-- not just sticking a photo in a frame. And good turn around time as well. I cannot praise their workmanship enough.
