This review is only for takeaway food items. I should have listened to my intuition as I never quite understood this place. I was in no mood to cook today so I thought I'd try a few take away items. Palm on forehead - here are my thoughts: Chicken corn elote wrap: this tastes like ...nothing. Honestly one of the blandest things I've ever had from an establishment. I was seriously worried for a minute I had lost my sense of taste and smell from covid it was so bland. Threw away. Blt dip- watery vinegar/ mustard with mushy scallions. Threw away. Spinach dip- essentially cream cheese with spinach and artichoke. At least the artichoke gives it some flavor, but still very bland. Daughter had Mac and cheese and she took two bites and asked for something else. How can you screw up Mac and cheese? Have you ever heard of salt? Try tasting your food! Never again! $33 in the trash can. read more

Great local spot with fun snacks, alcoholic/nonalcoholic drinks, great food and ambiance. With having to work from home more often, I love coming here during the week for morning coffee and lunch. However, the music recently has been incredibly loud and I often cannot hear my own music or calls with personal headphones. Understand the idea of drowning out chatter, kitchen noise, etc. But I'd strongly encourage not only lowering the volume but consider playing music without lyrics. read more

I know we're all going through some trying times right now but my family and I have been trying our best to support all the local businesses during this pandemic/shelter in place. We have been going here every day this week until we had the rudest encounter with the barista. I don't know his name. He had short hair dyed pink on the tops. And he had so much attitude and anger. I ordered two cappuccinos with 2% milk. They said they only had whole and skim. I asked if they could mix the two (they've done it for me like this all week). He says, extremely annoyed, "I SUPPOSE." Hm. Okay. He makes the coffees. Slams them on the counter and says they're ready. I'm thinking this rudeness is all in my head so I say "thank you". He ignores me. I say "have a good one". He ignores me again. I try to get his attention as he is actively ignoring me and I said, "hey, I said have a good one." Super annoyed, he flashes the fakest smile. I don't know if he's being racist because I'm Asian and he thinks I have COVID-19 or if he's having a bad day but this is absolutely unacceptable. I have friends being laid off left and right with no paycheck. It's all hard. Let's just be grateful that you even have customers coming by, supporting, and trying to share the love. I will not be returning. There are many other local businesses that would appreciate the support and not treat their customers like this. Honestly, this isn't my first choice of mediocre coffee making either. I prefer three greens and intelligentsia but they're all closed. Trying Printers Row coffee instead!!! read more

This review is based solely on the grotesque qualities of the alleged breakfast taco that I was served moments ago I find it difficult that they would even dare to sell them ....the mealy shell adhered to the aluminum wrap it was mummified in , and proved difficult to attempt thefirst bite as the minimal ingredients did not hold in the dessicated shell. Just gross, sorry read more

I came in during slow hours and waited over 40 minutes for a small couscous salad bowl. When I checked in with the cashier 30 minutes after placing the order, I figured that they forgot about the order. It was okay to make mistakes, but I felt disappointed as I was left with no explanations nor apologies. The $9 couscous bowl was not impressive either. I wouldn't come back again for the food. read more

Cute coffee/market shop in the center of old town on wells! Came here on a work from home Thursday, enjoyed the coffee and the bright lighting/friendly staff. read more

Foxtrot - Good work from home spot - Beer, Wine & Spirits Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

This place is so loud, all the time. The music and vibe is very off for a coffee shop.

I love the tastings they have been doing. I was able to sample Luna Bay Hard Kombucha which is not something I would ever think to try, but there was a lady doing free samples and turns out I really like Hard Kombucha! Hopefully they continue because it's not often you have the chance to sample unique drinks and their tastings is definitely a reason to stop by! The coffee is pretty delicious too. read more

So happy Foxtrot just opened in Old Town. From a coffee perspective, we don't have many options other than Starbucks so it's great to have a place to grab a coffee with ample space to get work done. While it is more upscale grocery items, it's nothing too much more than Walgreens across the corner. Pre-made dinners for around $10. And thanks for bringing breakfast tacos from Austin to Chicago for $3 each. Finally happy hour from 4-6pm on weekdays with $3 beers and $5 wine and cocktails. Great ambiance and both a front and back patio to hang out on. read more

Foxtrot - Back Patio - Beer, Wine & Spirits Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Went here tonight and the server behind the counter was beyond rude. No hello, and when I asked about a wine she came back in a pointed tone "will that be all". Turned around and walked out the door. Have shopped at this company hundreds of times but will not be coming back after that. read more

I can't say too much about this place or the location but what I can say is that I enjoyed my Matcha Green Tea and my boyfriend got the Nitrogen Coffee. We had a coupon to get it for free but I believe that each drink would normally cost about $4.50 each but don't quote me on that. I do believe they need to change the sugar/lemon/stirs and straws to another location because as people were getting their drinks we were kind of knocking into each other. I also tried the online ordering but the only option is for delivery which cost $5 and I live in the neighborhood so I think they should have an option for pick up as well. I don't need to spend extra money when I can just go and get it for free without the wait. There are a couple of things that I want to try like the loc n key and one of their salads and when I do I will update my review until then folks... Enjoy!!! read more

This place is horrible. They messed up my order twice. It took forever to get our food. Don't come here. Food was decent. read more

Love that there is a foxtrot opened in old town. The vibe is sheeck and laid back. It's like Starbucks but meets a fast causal restaurant and grocery store. There is outside seating in the back patio and the front sidewalk. It is also Wheelchair and stroller accessible- yay! You just have to go to the side entrance. Friend liked it enough to come in 2x in a week and we got both our strollers in. read more

I wanted to like this place because it wasn't fast food. It had a nice selection of food offerings, tables, music and WiFi. I got a turkey and cranberry sandwich in some type of good looking bread and a berry smoothie..... And then I took a bite of the sandwich, Hummm that's an odd taste, taking a sip of the smoothie to get that taste outta my mouth didn't help. After careful dissecting of the sandwich it ended up being the greenish brown Schmeer on one side of the bread giving the odd taste. The berry smoothie .... never did figure out what that taste was. So after paying just shy of $20 for the two I expected better. Healthy food should still taste good... read more

Bobby was so amazing honoring online bundles even though the app was down and went above and beyond to provide amazing customer service. This is my first experience at Foxtrot and I would hope every experience there would be just as amazing as this one. read more

The ambiance is what drew me in- I was disappointed almost immediately. Condescending service, bad wifi (as in, it didn't work at all so I spent money to sit there and not even be able to do work), all topped with a pretty little pretentious bow. Again I ask, why do people who get annoyed with basic questions work in service? Always a confusion to me. The woman literally shrugged her shoulders when I asked her for a suggestion. And social distancing must not matter? Since the woman who took my order literally just pulled out a seat across from me for a lady to sit and eat in, literally less than two feet from my face. This woman sitting across from me (nothing against her personally) would not stop talking to me and it seemed like I got handed the responsibility of being a 'good neighbor' by the staff member who didn't even make eye contact with her when pulling out the chair and rushing off. The woman was clearly not from the area and didn't seem like the demographic that you'd expect at a place like this, and even though I don't have a problem with that, I was given this responsibility for no reason? I ended up hearing a lot about her personal life including clarification about a friend of hers who wasn't a "wetback" which was highly uncomfortable for me, as a half Mexican who is always perceived as white. I felt trapped in this dialogue that shouldn't have taken place if my seating hadn't been disrespected by the same employee who was rude to me when I arrived. Seems like the perfect spot for a yuppy in Old Town. Will not be back. Good job at ruining the impression of a place in less than five minutes. read more

Nick, the store manager at Foxtrot - Old Town, is the best! Thanks, Nick, for your advice on bourbon. Love the products, love the service, love the vibe. I will be back. read more

Amazing breakfast tacos. Craft brews are a bit pricey but the selection is a bit exotic. Seems to be better wine. Super easy to drop $50 on a 4 pack of beer and a pound of coffee type of vibe. read more

Came here for breakfast and really enjoyed the bacon breakfast tacos. The oat milk latte on tap left something to be desired

This spot is great! All of the foxtrot markets in the city are so nice, clean, and the staff is very friendly. This one in particular is great for studying or working because of its size and atmosphere. read more

Sad day... Carne Asada Breakfast Tacos have been taken off the menu : (... The carbonated water station is gone as well... But everything else is great! read more

I came in to a Foxtrot for a quick bite and was very disappointed. The prosciutto and fig baguette was very bad quality - the baguette was extremely stale and the fillings tasted like they'd gone bad. I had to throw it away after a couple bites and it was quite overpriced at ~$10. Seemed like they have a decent selection and I should've picked something else, but I definitely won't be back. read more

I hosted a private party here today and absolutely loved my experience. K & T & Ryan helped me from start to finish and made my event run as smooth as possible. They checked in with me often and made sure to accommodate all of my requests. Also worth noting, the breakfast tacos are out of this world along with their matcha lattes! So delicious. read more

Went in to get my pickup order ($180 dollar order mind you), was very rudely told they had no such order. I explained to them what was in the order, but they just kept saying no orders were made, they didn't check even, no help at all. They just let me panic a bit until I left thinking maybe it went to a different location or didn't go through. My wife called when I got home to check on the order, they said that they had the order the whole time, and when they talked to me they thought I meant something else. I'm not sure how "Order for Meg" means anything other than I have a pickup order under the name Megan. The worst part is I'm so used to their incompetence that I just figured they or their system messed up again when I left. So now we ask them to please just change it to delivery for us because we can't come back (this is a $180 order remember you would think someone might want to help). They say fine until we get 4-5 calls during our son's baptism (hence the order) saying they can't deliver it, we have to cancel the order ourselves and re-order everything for delivery. They mentioned they'd try to either comp or discount our order because of this ridiculous ordeal, but of course they didn't do anything, no discount, no I'm sorry, just a huge inconvenience for your customers.......again. I've contemplated stopping going to Foxtrot so many times because of bad deli meat, incomplete deliveries, and terrible attitudes, (not to mention its like %250 more than anywhere else), but this one takes the cake. I even sat in the store calling my wife to ask about the order, and at no point did the staff think 'hey maybe that order for megan that guy is talking about, is the $180 order for Megan we have right here, but eff him." I will not be back. This was the Lake location by the way. read more

Foxtrot was amazing! The lady behind the counter was super patient with us with it being our first time. Then she gave it to us free of charge out of the kindness of her hart. My chai latte was also stellar! Highly recommend! Please come check it out if you are in old Town Chicago! read more

They never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever get delivery orders right. Order 10 items, get 5. They always refund the missing ones, but it's like playing the lottery to order something and guess what you'll get/pay delivery costs for half of a large order. read more

So sad! It looks like a great fun place but after two bottles of wine ( between 6 people) we were cut off! Bottom line don't come here if you wanna have fun! read more

Foxtrot - Really cute place but we were cut off after two bottles of alcohol for no reason. Bottom line, don't come here if you want to have fun. - Beer, Wine & Spirits Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Good products... definitely a little pricey but I really like their maca mocha shake, which keeps me coming back. Staff is SLOWWWWW every time, so don't come here when you're in a hurry. There are some small tables and seating, but it's packed 99% of the times I've been here, so don't bank on getting a seat either. But I am addicted to their $9 smoothie! My splurge after the gym! read more

The staff seems bothered and are rude while ordering. I always go in with a cheery attitude and greet them first. They seem frustrated while placing orders. Has happened several times. I really want to love this place but the staff makes it hard read more

Not sure why 2 hours before closing they won't make a coffee or latte but this has happened to me once here and multiple times at the West Loop location as well. I'd be very interested in the policy or if employees are just being lazy. If I actually knew the policy I'd know for future but when I ask there's not a definitive answer. read more

Very disappointed in my BCBS Experience with foxtrot. They've been hyping to stay home and order from them for the release did just that. Ordered a choice selection of beers. When they delivered (late but reasonable) only the common beers were brought and non of the rare variants. Real "bait and switch" type move. Said they'd refund me in 3-5 business days for what they don't actually have. Poor business practice but I learned my lesson. So it goes read more

Great place. I had an issue with an order and they were more than generous in making me happy. Fox trap was excellent!!

This is my other favorite location to hang out and get work done. Bobby is an incredible manager, and always makes sure his team is treating their guests properly or even above and beyond. They make the already amazing environment here that much more inviting and both patios get great sunshine at different times of the day. I don't choose many other places to spend my time! Love it here read more

Been coming here for over 2 years because of all the amazing products they carry. This is about the horribly rude people that work there. I have never been met with a greeting. A simple request for a fork after buying a $15 salad is met with an eye roll. Never have I had a good experience with the workers at this location. Every single thing is an inconvenience to the workers at this location. I'm simply sick of it. All our business will be taken elsewhere from now on. read more

Great place! Will frequent it often as my wife and I live in the neighborhood. There is one small change that will improve this location... Drinks and food are coming out from the bar at the same spot where people are putting cream and sugar in their coffee. Simply moving the cream and sugar to a different location will improve the flow in this area. This weekend I saw a person putting cream and sugar in their coffee and testing it out, while people had to wait behind her to grab their drinks -- a bit of a logjam. When these areas are separated it'll run much more smoothly. Happy they are in the neighborhood and will continue to support. read more

I had heard of foxtrot before but hadn't been before they opened in Old Town and can honestly say I'm so glad they came to the neighborhood. Foxtrot is a combination of many different things; corner store, coffee shop, cafe, delivery service, bar and more. I mostly find myself visiting foxtrot for their breakfast menu, or to stop in and enjoy a coffee or cocktail. They also offer an impressive selection of prepared grab and go foods which is super convenient. Both the indoor and outdoor spaces are welcoming and relaxing. So glad to have foxtrot in the neighborhood. read more

I tried this for the first time this morning. I usually have coffee and a sandwich at Starbucks across the street...but I wanted to try something new. I had the medium coffee with the breakfast taco (bacon) and I was pleasantly surprised it was better than the Starbucks sandwich and the coffe tasted better as well! This is my new Sunday spot. read more
