It's a very bougie convenience store, with grab-and-go meals (including a fancy looking miso mushroom udon bowl), snacks, alcohol, a coffee bar, and made-to-order sandwiches, salads, and pastries. The stuff here ain't cheap but I'm a sucker for cute, witty packaging, which explains why I walked out with three bags of mixed candy. My favorite is the Predators v. Prey mix, which has gummy sharks and dinos as the predators and sour patch kids as the prey ... dark. Everything inside seems like it was curated by a trendy millenial/Gen Z/Gen Z. Basically, my inner basic b's vision of heaven. There's the fancy stuff and also the cans of Campbell soup, non-organic crackers, etc. For a quick and healthy (and definitely not cheap) lunch, I grabbed a carton of mixed fruit and veggie rolls and it wasn't bad. If I lived near one of the Foxtrots, I'd probably be there all the time each time I had a craving for ice cream. Also, props for having a relatively clean public bathroom. The DISRESPECT! Literally shut it down. Ever since they've reopened it has been a disaster. First thing is that the staff is in shambles. The catty/fakeness of the "manager" is so off putting. This is one of my least favorite Foxtrot locations. I come almost every week to get some work done between my clients, but I never know what to expect. There is no consistency with staff, sometimes the music is so loud it's like we are in a club and the employees put on music to dance to not what's appropriate in a coffee shop where people are working/reading/talking. I've gotten eye rolls when I've asked for the music to be turned down. As a whole, Foxtrot has really gone downhill in the last 2 years, which is sad. I like to support local shops and businesses and I appreciate that they support a lot of diverse, local businesses with products in their stores. But they need to stop expanding and refocus on customer service. Or get rid of the coffee shop aspect and just be a grab and go. If you can't get enough quality staff (and retain them), stop opening new stores and focus on the ones you have. read more

But I got it because I was craving a smoothie and I was in town visiting my brother. I got oat milk in my smoothie and you could taste the oat milk. I've been here plenty of times- to do work, to pick up many coffees, to get my hungover breakfast tacos, etc., and I feel like I've had mixed reviews. They do have a happy hour from 4-6 pm everyday and their seltzers and beer are $4, and their wine is $7. It's pretty underrated if you ask me because the happy hour is everyday. They have plenty of outlet plugs to do work. Their bathrooms are pretty clean too. However, west a jacket if you're going to spend more than 2 minutes there because it's an arctic tundra. read more

Foxtrot is tough to rate. I like the Chicago concept and the coffee is brewed nicely. The problem is the service and the prices. The selection consists mostly of items local to Chicago. I understand they must charge a premium to account for their low volume orders, but man are they pricey. The service isn't the friendliest either across any of their locations. Foxtrot has surprisingly become one of my favorite places to study and get some work done. As far as the food from their menu goes, I've had the breakfast tacos, the Fox Trap sandwich and the Ginger Buddha Bowl. They are all really, really good. The fox trap sandwich is messy, but worth it. Even the food from their refrigerated section is awesome; recently I grabbed one with roasted chicken breast, farro and veggies. The portion size was so huge, I actually ended up getting two meals out of it! Shout out for also having Honey Mama's chocolate and West Town Bakery cake balls there.... my sweet tooth truly appreciates. My only complaint would have to be about their tea... this is definitely clearly a coffee centric place. When you order a hot tea at any other cafe, they will usually give you a full pot of it... since it is just hot water. At Foxtrot for almost 4 dollars, the tea they give you is in THE tiniest cup. I usually have to go up close to four times just to ask to be topped with more hot water. It's weird because I feel like I'm inconveniencing them when time I do. Other than the tea/hot water sizes- this place is a great if you're looking to sit down and get some work done. I wouldn't come here for weekly grocery shopping because the prices are definitely higher, but for last minute items this place is SO worth it. read more

Got a grab bag from the too good to go app and it ended up having a ham and cheese croissant in it. I am a vegetarian and don't eat meat or cheese so I gave it back to the guy at the counter and said that exactly. I sort of expected him to offer to switch it out with someone thing else but I didn't want to ask since you're "not allowed to know" what's in the garb bags...the gran bag was "pastry/baked good" so I wasn't really expecting that. I was out running errands one Sunday morning and popped in for a lovely latte. This warm and welcoming spot was super comfortable for sipping and people watching. Tons of street front windows are great, as they allow for an abundance of sunlight. There is a variety of seating options that are very comfortable for groups or going solo. The decor is rich, rustic with a touch of urban. There is a lot of natural wood, leather, vintage looking tile and even a bicycle on the wall. There is a well stocked market filled with food, beverages of coffee and wines, with home and lifestyle options as well. It was great fun looking around. The breakfast tacos are the exception; soggy and kind of nasty made-ahead breakfast tacos on flour tortillas, which are so inferior to corn tortillas. If they made these up fresh, they'd be better, but they hold them, so they suffer. Otherwise, good stuff. The wine selection is inventive and fun. The pantry section isn't large enough to actually do your shopping here, but they have some good organic and clean ingredient options. I was at Second City across the street and stopped in after. They have quick bites to eat, snacks, craft beer and wine. What's not to like. I grabbed a drink and some tacos on my way back home to sit down for a zoom meeting this morning. They did not give me the tacos I ordered, and the drink (a chai tea latte) tasted like sugar water with cinnamon added. After several hours of meetings and being hungry because I didn't finish the food I ordered, I came back to return the drink, let them know they did not deliver on quality of service I have known them to deliver on in the past, and ask them if they would like to amend the situation. The cashier was pleasant. The manager issued a refund and then basically told me I should feel like a bad person for asking for a refund after having eaten some of the food. She then rolled her eyes at me and walked away. I don't have time to check your food before I get home and get onto the next event in my life. I did not expect a full refund though I asked for one. They have meals, snacks and drinks for a quick stop already ready for you. If you have time to sit and relax please order coffee. I was seriously worried for a minute I had lost my sense of taste and smell from covid it was so bland. Threw away. Blt dip- watery vinegar/ mustard with mushy scallions. Threw away. Spinach dip- essentially cream cheese with spinach and artichoke. At least the artichoke gives it some flavor, but still very bland. Daughter had Mac and cheese and she took two bites and asked for something else. How can you screw up Mac and cheese? Have you ever heard of salt? Try tasting your food! However, the music recently has been incredibly loud and I often cannot hear my own music or calls with personal headphones.
