    Matcha latte
    Shilah A.

Very convenient location right off the train line. The aesthetic of cafe is nice, but the matcha latte was not worth it at all. The drink was made up of 90% milk and 10% matcha. Very disappointing and not worth it.

I walked by and noticed this location is open again! They have a nice selection of craft beers as well as beer/wine on tap. There are seats in the back with outlets along the wall if you want to study/work. I had a gift card from before they closed, which doesn't seem to work anymore. There are a lot of trendy items here like chili oil and CBD beverages. I got some maldon and some Marz Jungle boogie (one of my favorite craft beers). Overall it's a nice cozy cafe and convenience store which has many local offerings. They sell packaged foods too which seemed a bit pricy ($6 for an onigiri??).

I'm usually here twice a week working on my laptop, the matcha quality here is one the best! So much to offer and the staff are beyond amazing! So much space to relax and hangout.

I had to write a review bc this particular day when we stopped in, both guys who were working were so dang friendly and nice. They really made the atmosphere lovely w positive vibes. The bacon and tomato avo toast I got was also surprisingly FIRE. it was so good!! Super crispy bacon on fresh sourdough. The guy making the food also gave me a free sample of a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie and even that was so tasty. I'll def buy a cookie next time! They have a lil section of gifts in case you're ever needing to buy a last minute gift. And they also have a small grocery section in the back. Yes, foxtrot is a bit overpriced, but they always have tasty bfast tacos, coffees, and whatever you might need.

The only way I can describe this place is like a REALLY, REALLY modern 7-11. That's a compliment tbh coz who doesn't like 7-11??? They have obviously better quality food and TO GO options. The blooms coffee is pretty and just enough sweet! I got the CBD put in for my neck pain and it worked my whole shift. I will say the breakfast tacos have a lot to be desired. They're mostly egg and very very little filling. I would suggest the bean and cheese because it was the most flavorful and filled. There isn't enough bacon or barbacoa in the ones I purchased. The salsa verde seems to be made differently each day, one day it was traditional chunk another it was more smooth Def will become a regular for their coffee!!

Foxtrot is tough to rate. I like the Chicago concept and the coffee is brewed nicely. The problem is the service and the prices. The selection consists mostly of items local to Chicago. I understand they must charge a premium to account for their low volume orders, but man are they pricey. The service isn't the friendliest either across any of their locations. I've walked in several times without being greeted or acknowledged. I'm somewhere between a 3 and 4 star rating. Not rounding up mostly due to the service.

Three stars only bc of the prices . 8 dollars for a kombucha ! The avo toast was yummy though . Worth the money

    Gorgeous packaging.

COVID-19 Review ------------------------- I received a gift from this location and it was wonderful. From the communication to the delivery everything was thoughtful and beautiful. I got the celebration box and it was package beautifully. I cannot wait for COVID to get better so that I can visit the store.

Good food both in the cafe and grocery section, although a little expensive. A great place to work or chat with friends. Friendly people.

    Croissant with Fresh Avocado

The sushi was good. I also had a soft croissant with a side of fresh avocado. This was so delicious. I enjoyed a quick breakfast bite. They have egg tacos which are very unique due to the ingredients. There is a vast selection of natural items to eat and drink here. The outside seating is very comfortable. This is a very busy market/deli despite the actual size of the store.

What a cute find! I stumbled upon this coffee shop while in Chicago for work. They have multiple locations in Old Town. I ended up visiting two in the same day! First thing to know is parking is limited to on street (I think that's a given in Chicago.) The space is big and bright, perfect for working. The tables have plenty of plugs if you need a charge. This space is both a cafe and small market. You can pick up to-go ready items like salads, juices and power bars. It also has a small shopping area with records and small trinkets. I was greeted at the country by a friend hostess. She walked me through the menu before I selected the acai bowl and black tea. I wasn't disappointed by my choice! If you're a tea drink the breakfast blend is the perfect balance to start your day. Highly recommend if you're looking for a spot to work for a bit. Other locations also have patio space!

Joy Milk Tea! THIS IS A MUST TRY if you're looking for a delicious afternoon pick-me-up.

Gotta love Foxtrot! With great wine/beer/beverage selections as well as fun gifts section in the back, you know you're going to find the perfect gift to your friend's housewarming party or birthday celebration. They also have a grocery section in the back where you'll find yummy snacks and food. Seriously, this place has it all. They're also open pretty late for a spot in the heart of Wicker Park so if you're looking for a cool gift at the eleventh hour, you know you're in good hands!

My new favorite coffee shop... ever?? It was so good I managed to fit it in TWICE in a short trip…read more And have NOT shut up about it since I came back!! Military latte ($7.25)-- matcha and espresso mixed together with milk I don't know what sorcery they put in this but it's SO GOOD!! like matcha and espresso had a baby idk but they kept all the good parts of each other and balance each other out. For example, the matchy isn't earthy or chalky like some places or fake like the Starbucks one. The espresso isn't sour or burnt. And somehow when you combine both of them it's this perfect mellow blend but has the slight bitterness of both matcha/espresso where you're like "ah yes it's not just milk" that flavor really pulls through. But again it's mellow and blends together sooooo well like perfect mesh my goodness. Doesn't overpower doesn't feel like you're drinking matcha and coffee at the same time. It just becomes like a new thing altogether and that thing is glorious. The first time I got it iced (and the black camo latte hot) and all I could think about was how much better it would be hot.... So I had to come back for it !! And it ISSSS better hot. I enjoy hot lattes the hot milk and lack of ice is smoother and blends it together better or something. Obviously the iced version wasn't bad because I still had a great time... but when I came back for the second time and got it hot like YESSS THIS IS IT !!! Black camo latte ($7.25)-- same as Military but instead of matcha it's hojicha mixed with espresso! I took sips of this (as opposed to it being my own drink) and thought it was good! Really depends on if you like the taste of matcha or hojicha more. This one is deeper and richer, more earthy. Maybe even caramelized roast kinda flavor? Buuuut I know hojicha isn't for everyone so take it with a grain of salt. The combo with espresso is magical though like whatever ratio they're using is so perfect. It really blends together so well. ANDDDD here the coffee:milk ratio is so good!! No milky watered down lattes! I'm so used to having to add espresso shots or asking for less milk because coffee shops really be wildin in this economy but this place has a good ratio! Like yes wow we still have good things I love this for us. Matcha lemonade ($7)-- So absurdly sour I took one sip and that was enough for me!!! You really have to be a lemonade person like if that's your drink of choice to quench your thirst on a hot day then this is for you!! If you don't drink lemonade on the regular then I really wouldn't bother. I think this is a collab with a charity or something? Up your vitamin C for a good cause I guess. Cortado ($4.50)-- Espresso and milk, small cup, good test of their espresso and yesssss it passes with flying colors. And again, this place has their milk ratio down to a science. Perfectly balanced, not too much milk and you still taste all the coffee. Love love loveeeeee this place and would absolutely love an LA location. Until then, guess I'll have to plan another Chicago trip to get this goodness again !!!

I think Sawada is a little more overhyped than I would've liked…read more The Military Latte was pretty good, and I really appreciated that they offered macadamia milk! That said, the matcha itself wasn't necessarily the best matcha I've ever had. I think there was just too much milk in the drink, so I couldn't really enjoy the matcha and hojicha notes. It was enjoyable, but not memorable enough to justify all the hype - or the price. I really liked the ambiance, and the baristas were genuinely kind. They were also very willing to adjust or remake a drink when needed, which I appreciated. Overall, it's a cute spot with great service, but I genuinely cannot accept the price-to-drink ratio. I'm glad I tried it, but I don't think it lived up to the hype.
