Nice and clean. In a decent area. Will be visiting. Staff was nice , that's always a plus

I used to frequent the South Loop location but now that i'm no longer in that area, I decided to finally check out this location and I can definitely say that this location is amazing. The parking lot is fairly large and the Binny's itself is pretty huge. And as always, prices are fantastic. They have a "tasting" room all the way in the back where they host events - i think you can also grab a drink there as well. The staff were helpful - at one point we had 3 staff members helping us find a whiskey! I'm looking forward to more stops at this location!

I always pick up beverages and other supplies for my son's business so I visit Binny's Beverage Depot on a regular basis. Each time, I am more than pleased. The Lincoln Park neighborhood store is very easily accessed. Just off of North Avenue, they provide a spacious parking lot. It's quick and simple to get in & out. Inside, Binny's has a fresh new look. It's been updated and is attractive and bright. It has the same layout with new floors and paint. It is still so spacious and offers great displays for sales or specialty items. I'm always greeted as I enter and exit. That's a nice touch. The floor staff are in abundance. I never have to search for someone if I have a question. Check out is a breeze. They have changed they layout here with the renovation and it really works. One queue leads to several cashiers. A man called me over and took out my heavy items for me. The cashier was so friendly and helpful. She made small talk as she efficiently rang me up. She also asked if I needed assistance to my car. Shopping at Binny's, I know I will find what I need at great prices in a spacious and attractive store. I also know my business is appreciated by the kind and professional staff.

Ridge wines yessss

2020 has definitely been the year of stocking up on whiskey and wine and Binny's is definitely the easiest place to go for the widest selection and best deals. Apparently for the hard to find whiskeys they have some sort of waiting list you can get on, but it seems difficult from what I hear (or rather read from Reddit). The last time I went I was specifically looking for a Ridge zinfandel and they just happened to have a whole display for Ridge wines, it was meant to be. They also have a pretty good sake selection for a big store liquor store. Better priced than Mitsuwa for sure. They need to stock Dassai though.

Amazing liquor, wine, and beer shop. The selection is crazy. Prices aren't nuts. And the beer selection (which you can mix and match) is full of local crafts and other specialty brews.

Chocolate Stout. Not my favorite brand.

This Binny's is vast and they have a crackerjack staff to guide you to your selection. It's great for people who don't drink wine frequently because the floor staff knows all the price points and producers. Most of the wine I buy goes into cooking. Wine really takes your homemade sauces to the pro level. You will want to drink a glass of sauce -- it's so good. Their beer selection will make your head spin too. I was after a chocolate stout and the guy showed me what seemed like a dozen varieties. Big bottle sold singly to 6-packs. They have a lot of beer from microbreweries. Binny's is like an Amazon warehouse of booze. Cashiers and floor staff are pleasant. They have a rewards membership program. Parking is easy and ample.

I only went inside to escape the light rain, but I ended up having the nicest experience with the two owners, a sweet older couple. They immediately made me feel welcome, chatting with me, giving me suggestions on places to check out in the city, and just radiating kindness. By the time I was ready to leave, it was pouring outside. They offered me a plastic bag to protect my things and encouraged me to stay until the rain slowed down. It was such a small gesture, but it really left an impression. While I was there I also noticed how warmly they greeted every customer who came in, and people were genuinely happy to stop by. This was such a memorable and heartwarming first impression of Chicago. If you are ever in the area, I highly recommend stopping by this shop to say hello to the wonderful owners. They truly make their customers feel cared for.

Of course I got distracted and browsed the store. There was souvenirs in this store as well, which I was not expecting. I wound up picking up winter gloves because I forgot mine at home. I then discovered a clearance cart that had a variety of boozes in there. I was super excited to find Malort! I found a unique cocktail recipe years ago that had Malort in it but was never able to find it in FL. Little did I know, it is very well known in Chicago! Obviously I purchased a little 6 pack. I browsed the aisles somewhat but did not find anything that caught my eye. I also did not want to purchase a bunch of bottles to walk with a couple of blocks. As I was waiting for the person in front of me to finish, the employee asked the customer to please step ahead so I could put my items down. He was already done and taking his time doing something else so I felt that was thoughtful of him to do for me. They were very polite and quick. The process seemed reasonable for the most part but the souvenirs were overpriced. The store was clean and tidy as well.

I NO LONGER FEEL "SAFE" AT THIS WALGREENS!…read more This is not about the service I received in the Greek town location. It's about what happened after I left the store. This occurred approximately 14-hours ago (12:30-ish am/2/3/24). It was around mid-night that I decided to walk down the street a few blocks to Walgreens. I only purchased cereal and milk... and a small bag of popcorn. For the record, hopefully everything inside the store was caught on the security cameras. While shopping in the aisles, I had spoken to a police officer who was shopping, thanking him for his service. They do a job that you couldn't pay me enough to do. Anyway, after walking slowly through the store (I walk slow due to health problems), I paid for each item then stepped aside to make room for the next customer while I looked at my receipt and put the items in my own (blue & white) shopping bag. It's made of a sort of sturdier than paper cloth. I got myself together and finally exited the store at a slow walking pace. By the time I reached the traffic light at the end of the block (going north at Monroe), I stopped to open my bag of popcorn. I was struggling to open the bag, due to health problems). Suddenly, a slightly taller than me, heavy-set male approached me from behind, demanding in a threatening tone to show him what's in my bag. I initially thought I was being robbed. I slowly turned around asking, "Why? (trying to stall and access)". The street was dark, isolated, and no traffic. Where's a cop car when you need one? Hey. There's a cop inside the Walgreens. That said, the guy kept demanding I show him what's in my bag. Was I being mugged? I asked, "Who are you?" He seemed to get frustrated not answering my question and demanded I show him the contents of my bag. Now, I really think I'm getting mugged. I still asked him, "Why?" He got even more frustrated and said, "Just open your bag!" Once again, I asked "Why?" Was this a hungry homeless person?,,, Retarded?... I mean, mentally challenged. Should I scream? I suddenly thought to myself... Is this a Trayvon Martin/George Zimmerman moment (Feb 26, 2012) when a non-Black guy (hiding a gun on his person) stalks a lone African-American male in a dark, isolated area with no witnesses to start a physical altercation (fight) after which said non-Black guy pulls out the gun he was hiding, to murder the African-American male... Then claim he feared for his life, shooting in self-defense of the altercation he started with a guy who was minding his own business? He then said something like. "There's a box in your bag". A box? I turned to look inside my bag to see what box he was referring to. Before I knew it, he reached inside my bag and grabbed my box of cereal (Cheerios) and walked off real fast in the direction of the Walgreens. Did I mention, I don't walk fast? I walked back to the store to tell the police officer inside (provided he was still there) and the Walgreens that I had just been robbed by a hungry homeless person. He took my box of Cheerios and ran off. I still had the milk. I was willing to risk it sounding funny, By the time I reached the front entrance, the young woman who waited on me at the cash register met the guy just outside the store. She was talking to him. Oh... Is this moron a Walgreens employee who didn't have the sensed to identify himself as such? He was not wearing a Security uniform, and he was not the police. When I got there, the cashier was so apologetic. She told me that after my very slow departure from the store, an alarm went off. Really? It must've been silent because I didn't hear any alarm... and I was walking slow as a snail. I asked, "This is what sent this moron (still standing there for some reason) stalking down the street behind me?"... Oh... I get it now... He was treating me like I was a CRIMINAL. He expected me to blindly do as he said while refusing to answer my basic questions ("Who are you?" and "Why do you want to see what's in my bag?") Had I realized that, this would've ended with me cussing him da'hell out on the street... and probably escalating. Why didn't anyone tell the cop inside the store? Why send an inexperienced, over-excited, don't know anything employee who is not even law enforcement to assault me? OK. Now I can't help this. Was it because I'm black? Although the cashier apologized, this incident is still with me. For all I know, I was targeted, it was done one purpose, and I'm not convinced it won't happen again. Anyway, I just thought I should document this incident somewhere, in case incidents like this happen all the time to black people at this Walgreens location... or any others.

The guy working there was a great conversation and we talked bourbon for a good 15 mins. He showed me store picks, rarities and new items. Their wine and beer areas were packed with inventory, but I didn't even take the time to peruse. (I did notice a lot of local craft beer when he was taking care of a customer). If you're a Buffalo Trace fan they had bottles for around $37.50 along with a store picked barreled variant. Eagle Rare was just under $60, Colonel Taylor $69.99 and Blanton's was around $115. I saw three bottles that were intriguing including an Old Fitzgerald 7 year bottled in bond for $69.99, a Weller Full Proof for $120 and a Blanton's Gold store barrel pick for $185. For a bourbon fan they had most of the bigger distiller portfolios available with a lot of popular smaller distillers too. The prices were slightly higher than you'd like to see, but fair if you live in a state like PA where the state has liquor privatized and New Jersey stores will rape you on rare bottle prices. The taxes were high so be prepared for the city and state taking their cut. I made my purchase and happily left with some great finds. I would highly recommend visiting these guys. Thanks guys!
