This Trader Joe's probably is the biggest one i ever visited in US, much bigger than my hometown one. I went in to get some organic dry cranberry for my dog, the staff are very friendly, He kindly Direct direct me to the right aisle, so i was in and out in less than 2 mins. The thing I noticed is it's very spacious among different isles, a lot of room, which is good for customers. Parking might be an issue. I end up parking at the fresh market, then walk here. I love Trader Joe's products. I try to avoid shopping here on weekends if at all possible since it's ridiculously crowded and the parking garage can be a nightmare as well with how tight it is. I wish the store layout was more conducive to larger crowds as it can get very frustrating to try to navigate through the store when it gets crowded. Sometimes a difficult shopping experience but worth it for the quality of the products. read more

I love Trader Joe's. It's legit a great store with excellent products and service. It's bittersweet for me. There's always an elephant in the room. I just feel their appropriation of Hawaiian culture is always trouble some. I lived in Hawaii for 6 years recently. Absolutely no Trader Joe's at all. But they brand themselves like that's their origin. So whenever I enter a store, the whole seasonally updated HAWAII branding just feel like a lie to me. Be better Trader Joe's. Open some in Hawaii. We'd have so much more of a better relationship for it. That's how the marketing hits me at every store. But wow the variety! Biryani is a tasty grab and go meal, gyro meat is a fav, not many places carry Brazil nuts, and candied orange slices are so tasty. Staff is already great. But Bruh, open some in the state you used to brand yourself, cmon. read more

Amazingly clean and organized store! If you like everything pumpkin, go shopping right now! We just bought some Caramel Apple Mochi ... very yummy! We missed that last year, so we definitely bought it now, early in the season. Cashier was in training, but very nice and helpful. Nothing really compares to Trader Joe's. Trader Joe's offers some of the most delicious salads at a low price. While living in NYC, I find myself coming to this store to get dinner often. When we came across Trader Joe's in Chicago, I automatically went to the salad section. I missed eating my favorite salad - Kale and Endamame salad. Their original drinks really hit the spot. The Lemon Ginger Echinacea drink tastes fabulous! The ginger gives a spicy kick to the drink. This may sound funny: but walking down the aisles feel nostalgic. I remember seeing the staff wearing the famous aloha shirts, the store brand vitamins and the chocolate covered raisins. Trader Joe's offers what their competitors offer but only at a fraction of what corporate charges. Come to Trader Joe's. Bring a friend, significant other, family or just bring yourself. 11/12/20 - What's not to like about Trader Joe's. They are such a cornucopia of goodies it's hard not to start throwing everything into your cart, but I managed. This location on Diversey Ave in Lakeview has the important things that I stock up on whenever I'm in a Trader Joe's Essential food items like dark chocolate peanut butter cups and ciabatta rolls w/everything on them (I know carbs bad but they're so dam good). I enjoy trying different prepared foods from their freezer case for those days when you just don't feel like cooking. It's so easy to pop an item in the microwave or heat it up on the stove. The staff at all the Trader Joe's are always helpful. Pop in and load up on your snack & meal needs. I've been to Trader Joe's in Lincoln Park a few times now and not sure how I keep forgetting to review it. Most recently, I stopped by today (Tuesday) around 8PM. This location is so nice, clean, and organized. I can always find what I'm looking for easily and the staff are always so happy and friendly here!! Their energy makes my shopping experience even better :). I also love how this location is always well stocked - I can't walk out of there without buying and trying another seasoning or new frozen item. Can't recommend the Mandarin Orange Chicken and basically any seasoning enough! My favorites are the Ajika, the Everything but the Bagel seasoning, and the Onion Salt. Their registers are well oiled machines and considering how many people are in there, I never have to wait that long. This is my go-to Trader Joe's and I highly recommend you check it out if you haven't already! read more

This Trader Joe's like many others is clean, fully stocked, and has several open checkout lanes with friendly faces. They are taking the social distancing seriously with employees directing traffic, educating shoppers on protocol, and sanitizing surfaces regularly. Considering how busy this Trader Joe's gets, I feel like I'm usually in and out of this place pretty quickly. They do have a parking garage in case you're coming in a car too. I love Trader Joe's to death. It's where is do 95% of my grocery shopping, and the staff members are almost always really friendly and will chat it up with you as you're checking it out. The experiences here always beat going to a huge box store such as Jewel Osco or Mariano's. I love all the fresh and healthier options that Trader Joe's seems to have, and although you won't be able to find everything you need that another store would carry, you can pretty much find most things you need still. read more

Solid Trader Joe's- The prices are lower than Aldi on some items...such as a bag of limes or on par with Aldi. I love the gourmet unique options. Loved the Cheese Section: Pimento A Variety of Pub Cheeses Gourmet Cheeses of almost every selection Freezer Section had BAKE YOUR OWN WARM SOFT PRETZELS WITH THE SALT INCLUDED IN THE PACKET!!! $2.49! I'm a late convert to the Trader Joe's cult. I've never been a huge fan, and could go for many months before stopping in to get the few frozen items I really liked. But now that I don't have a car anymore, I've been forced to patronize different stores, and I've found several things that I do like about Trader Joe's that have made me a frequent customer. The staff is always helpful, enthusiastic, and cheerful. I don't know how that's so, but that has been my experience. I bought some British item once, and the cashier was a native Londoner, who gave me some background on the item. Another time, I mentioned to the cashier that I hadn't found a particular item, and he immediately took me to where the item was displayed, so I was able to complete my shopping list. And a third time, asking about a certain item, the cashier was able to tell me it had been discontinued, saving me from a lot of running around. Some of their brand items are definitely less expensive than the brand items I see in Mariano's or Jewel. Cereal in particular is a reasonable cost. Frequently, fruit and veggies are cheaper. Red peppers were $1.29 at Trader Joe's and $1.99 at Mariano's. Guess where I bought them? They also do a few things smarter. I bought a bag of small avocados, gratefully. Why? Because average size avocados are too big for me. I make an avocado toast and have so much left over, I have to make another toast or eat the avocado with chips so it doesn't get wasted, and then I'm too full. Small avocados mean I get the right amount for my meal. Why didn't any other store think of people like me, who like and need to eat but don't want to gorge themselves? And some items are just better. Don't ask me why, but the pita pocket bread at Trader Joe's actually opens up into a pocket. Why every other brand just tears apart or sticks together, I couldn't tell you. They just do. Over the years, I've frequented Trader Joe's for frozen Indian foods and pita pockets. I rarely bought other things -- well, maybe some three-buck chuck. Now I am exploring other standard items, like cereal and bread, and finding they are just as good as the big-name items sold at other chain stores. What frustrates me, though, is finding items I really like get discontinued. For years, I've bought the frozen channa masala. It's discontinued. I found vegan egg rolls. When I went back to buy them a second time, the cashier told me they'd been discontinued, too. And they used to sell ice cream sandwiches that were plant-based. Those are gone, too. It's frustrating. As long as Trader Joe's keeps up with the tasty items at lower prices than comparable items, I'll be a convert to the TJ cult. Just as long as they don't change the pita bread. read more

Another good upscale but not super expensive grocery store. You'd have to come for the healthy food or prices, NOT variety, as Trader Joe's is also a brand name, and unlike the big stores, they don't offer brand name AND generic. That may explain why the stores are not very large. But it's fine, they have healthy but not boring food, and it's economical but since I don't live nearby I don't have a membership. I was stopping in to pick up a frozen entree for dinner; they have a nice variety in their brand, some staples such as pasta, pizza, burritos and a LOT of Indian cuisine. I wish they chose more 'typical' kinds of meals in their frozen foods such as meatloaf, salisbury steak, chicken and rice or turkey/stuffing. All of the employees are very kind and never make you feel like you're bothering them if you ask where something is. The prices for quality produce are tough to beat. We love Trader Joe's, it might be the only grocery store in the world where we always feel like we get a good value each week. We will still check out a regular store for name brand items, but for the most part, we are able to get all of our weekly groceries here! We have always had great customer service at this location, everyone has been really friendly and knowledgeable. Yay, Trader J's! I love this place so much, and it is my favorite place to shop for the essentials: toothpaste, tissues, vitamins, beer, poke bowls, cereal, and of course that inexpensive wine! I feel very lucky to have a location so close to my apartment, but even if I'm driving by instead of walking, I know I don't need to worry about my car during my visit because there's free parking. With three levels of parking spaces, I never have to wonder if I'll find a spot to park, either. Phew! Worst TJs I've ever been to. I've been going for three months and have experienced my expensive cheese covered in green fuzz. Ladybug in my dill. Tiny bugs all over my celery. Corn tortillas were moldy even though the expiration date was well in the future. The insect thing was appalling because they were all alive and the produce was all WRAPPED. I continued to go until today when I cut my (again, wrapped!!! plastically sealed!!!) cauliflower down the middle and cut a live earwig in half. Almost threw up it was so effing disgusting. Trader Joe's - I am so shocked at your quality of food. I have spent so much money now on things that are unconsumable or insect-ridden. I recommend anyone who goes to NOT buy produce, dairy, meat, or seafood from here. Spend the extra bucks on Dom's down the street. It's worth the extra $$ to not have to wash your "triple washed salad" and find a small dead spider inside. read more

When visiting Chicago, did I plan where I was staying one night so I could be within close proximity to Trader Joe's? Yes. And the experience was decent but nothing to write home about. You see, we don't have TJ's in Denver (yet) but when I used to live in Charlotte, would go every weekend. So I know what I like and what I can't live without, luckily some of the items I cant live without are non perishable items so I could stock up and bring them back to Denver. We went to this location on a Sunday afternoon (i.e. the worst possible time to go to Tj's) and the best way to describe it was organized chaos. The number of people was crazy and the number of children not being watched their parents was bad as well. You would into an aisle and could barely stop for fear of being sideswept by one of their red buggies and it was each person out for themselves there. My main mission was to get in and get out in the least amount of time possible which is pretty difficult when ONE checkout line is 15 people deep. I long for the days when TJ's opens up an express lane because it's frustrating when you have a few items but get stuck behind the people stocking up for the month. We finally got to the cashier and he wasn't as perky as other cashiers I've crossed paths with in the past which was a bummer but the appropriate ending to an average experience. PS-If you buy anything at TJ's, it should be the Frozen Mandarin Orange Chicken. You'll thank me. read more

There is plenty of upper-deck parking with I enjoy and if you are ever up there - the view of the city is spectacular. This Trader Joe's generally has everything I need, and the staff is helpful and friendly. The produce is always fresh and of excellent quality, and they are generous with the in-store samples here. I can't tell you how many times I've ended up buying something that I would have never previously considered due to liking the sample. If you haven't tried the Cowboy Caviar dip yet, you are seriously missing out! When driving west on Diversey, the left turn that leads into the parking garage sometimes takes quite a bit of time due to high pedestrian foot traffic, but I've never had trouble finding a parking spot once inside the garage. read more

What can be said about TJ's? I love this grocer so much. Our neighborhood Lakeview/Lincoln Park Trader Joe's is always clean, bustling place. Walk in off the entrance along Diversey. Right across the street from the Akira outlet store (also dangerous) and Kuma. There is garage parking too, entrance is off Orchard. Bike parking around the corner on orchard as well. I always over buy here. There's so many wonderful items to be had and try!!! The frozen section is my favorite, which sounds weird to say. But their meals are always impressive for frozen items and obviously great when you forget to go produce fresh food shopping. The staff is alwayssss incredible. The cheese section is good too. Check out the sweet sliced almonds, I can eat the entire bag in one sitting. Although I shouldn't. Also greeting cards are so artistic and only $1! There are a handful (maybe 6-8) peanut butter cups in dark or milk chocolate for $1 too and help with portion control ;) read more

Trader Joe's had agreed to donate flowers to my school for teacher appreciation in lincoln park. They were going to drop them off May 10th and left a voicemail. I called the Trader Joe's. They didn't believe anyone agreed to this. They made me come in and the manager Sylvia condescendingly said "I would love to listen to the supposed voicemail," not believing a staff member agreed to it or left me a voicemail. Very disappointed that they treated me, a special Ed teacher this way, when I was just trying to do something nice to appreciate my staff. Trader Joe's do better. Everything about this place is Great (except for their chips) Their produce is bright, fresh, and ample sized: my favorites include jalapeños, tomatoes, bananas, red onions, berries, and avocados... There is a free sample stand with constantly changing food items (where I found a new pantry staple 'Hot & Sweet Chili Jam' ) and juices to try. Their cheese selection is fantastic as well--so much to choose from means so many chances to add to my favorite food group :) My favorite bread is an Asiago peppercorn Sourdough and I always get it with a selection of Spanish meats / cheeses for a perfect meal. There are always at least six checkout lanes open, the wait times are not very long, and the cashiers give my son cool TJ stickers :) read more

Never ever was I on the TJ's bandwagon. I'd heard countless stories of people regaling crowds with accounts of children being healed, manna falling from the sky and homes becoming three times their original size. Yeah, right. It's a grocery store. I wasn't buying it and I certainly wasn't going out of my way for it. I just suffered in silence at The Market Place. Well, I wasn't *so* silent but humor me. Then, a TJ's opened near me. 'Hmph. Whatever,' I scoffed. While soccer moms and bros from all around sacrificed SUVs and beer bongs to the TJ gods, I kept it moving west on Diversey until I reached S&VT. One day, I decided to stop in and see what all the fuss was about. I was displeased. Somehow, double-wides were TRIPLE-wides in here. Children were even more entitled and unruly. Bros traveled in wolf-packs as wide as the very aisles themselves. I was in side-eye and sucked-teeth overload. I knew I had to escape before I went to jail for causing grievous harm to the multitudes. And, then I saw it. Black Raspberry juice. We all have them. Superman has kryptonite. The Green Lantern has the color yellow. Kelly Clarkson has unfortunate fashion sense. Weaknesses. Mine is juice, particularly any juice that is of a new fruit variation. And, there it was. Staring at me. Black Raspberry juice. OMG. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? BLACK RASPBERRY... JUICE???!!!1!!1!11 I had to have it... all. After I began hoarding the Black Raspberry, I noticed Strawberry Lemonade and Hibiscus Cranberry AND POMEGRANATE LIMEADE!!! Oh dear. We're going to need a bigger boat. They were like Tribbles. Each time I thought I was through, I noticed another (Dixie Peach, Mango Lemonade, PEAR CINNAMON CIDER). They came faster and faster (Gravastein Apple Juice, Mango Green Tea, Mango Passionfruit, Spiced Cranberry Cider). I couldn't take it anymore. I.had.to.have.them.all. *sob* ihadtohavethemall. But, it wasn't just juice. There was all sorts of frozen (and delicious) Indian food. Olive Oil Popcorn. Whipped cream cheese of the perfect consistency. COOKIES! If there's one thing that might make me move faster than a new, fruity juice, it's cookies. The milk chocolate macadamia nut lace cookies are a triumph of chewy, chocolatey, nutty goodness. The caramel cashews are impossible to eat it batches less than 10. I packed tubs of the dark chocolate almond cookies with me when I moved out of state. Oh, TJ's. I am sorry for ever doubting you. I know the first time was free but I am now willing to pay anything to have you come back to me. Don't leave me here all alone in South Florida!! We only got a few things that could fit into my handbag- cheddar rockets, dried green beans snack, quince paste, and ginger mints (all yum btw). The staff was friendly, asking if we needed help. Sarah E is correct as they have wider aisles, but one thing I noticed they do not have is my tomato bisque soup that is absolutely delicious. I usually go to the Clybourn location, but this place is a 3 minute walk from me. I guess I will have to continue to go to Clybourn for the soup...lol. This is a very welcome addition to the hood as there aren't many good grocery stores in the area. Drivers: They have 90 minute parking in the garage so you dont have to worry about riding around Licoln Park for a parking space. read more
