Great pizza and very pleasant staff. Picked up a takeout order. Was ready when suggested and they are fairly priced.

Good stuff, it's not a 5 diamond ultra reśturantè, it doesn't need to be, it's a pizza place and it does it's job well. Kudos and such

When you're in the 'Burgh, find something local and go enjoy. I'm not local, and I was thinking…read morepierogis & Iron City, maybe catch some Pittsburgh sportsball? Downey's House provided the local spot I needed. An ice cold Yuengling on draft went down very well, and while I didn't find pierogis on the menu, I settled for a phenomenal bowl of spaghetti & meatballs. Local marinara & meatballs made with the same recipe of the old Main Hotel that was in Carnegie for nearly 100 years. That bowl of pasta was SCRUMPTIOUS and just what I was after. I even talked my lovely wife into doing up her salad 'Pittsburgh style', which means adorning the salad with fries. And yes, it's as good as it sounds. Thrown in a protein like grilled chicken and that is a banger of a meal. Great dining area with a square-shaped bar and TVs with sight-lines in any direction. The service is friendly and helpful, and prices are probably lower than at some chain-y eatery that just makes your food via assembly line. It's local and sensational!

Tonight I sprang for the Pittsburgh salad with buffalo chicken strips and ranch dressing. My sons ordered off the children's menu and enjoyed their spaghetti and Mac & cheese. On a friend's recommendation my wife got the pepperoni rolls with garlic ranch for dipping. The food came out after about 15-minutes and everything was fresh. The salad was good but virtually all the elements (cucumber, lettuce and tomatoes could have been cut down to a more manageable bite-size bits. My son's spaghetti was nice and the sauce had a good depth of flavor and the meatball was a good size. Mac and cheese was standard from a box so not much to report there. The best meal of the night were the pepperoni rolls. The cheese was crispy and everything was piping hot and the garlic ranch was a nice touch too. Would definitely come back for that meal.

Pittsburgh Sandwich Society runs a kitchen out of Strange Roots Experiential Ale which is a small locally-owned distillery. Once you enter, you'll scan a QR code to order online. Don't waste time like me waiting for a server lol. I ordered the In-An-Aht burger which features spring mix, their society sauce, American cheese and tomato. The burger was SO GOOD. All the ingredients had the perfect portions and came together beautifully. It was a perfect medium-well cook. The fries are hand cut and delicious. My only distaste was that fries were veryyyyy salty. +Customer service was amazing! +Limited Free Parking out front and in a nearby alley. +Plenty of tables for dine-in +Free boardgames to play +Beautiful patio with plenty seating I'm excited to return for the patio in the summer when I return to PA. They don't open until 4, but you can place orders online hours before then. Picked up food around 4:20. By time we got home, the fish maintained its crispness. I was actually quite impressed with how well it was prepared. Nice and flaky but didn't fall apart. The bun it comes on is well proportion with the fish. The only thing I could've went without, was the macaroni salad topped on the fish. However, the food here never disappoints. I'll be back.

Sorry .. no pics on this one…read more I ordered my sub online prior to leaving .. the New York Steamer .. happened to be the sub special today so bonus! On the app u can customize your sub - which I did - and select a pickup time. My sub was in the shelve waiting for me as ordered and on time. They come in these nice containers to prevent smooshing ;) Highly recommend these over some of the other shops.

Genius! My Hook & Ladder arrived looking like it had been run over by the actual fire truck, soggy bread that dissolved into paste, "smoked" turkey that tasted like wet cardboard marinated in regret, and mayo so thin it was basically flavored air. Portion sizes? Adorable! They must've switched to the "Toddler Menu" when I wasn't looking. And the crew my god, the crew. Every single employee behind the counter was an imported worker, clearly flown in on the "We Refuse to Pay Americans" visa program. Not one local soul in sight! They were polite in that dead-eyed, soul-crushed way you get when your paycheck wouldn't cover a Happy Meal. Orders wrong? Naturally. Enthusiasm? Zero. It's like they hired a call center to assemble subs. Pro tip: if your wages are so insulting that nobody in a 50-mile radius will take the job, maybe, just maybe, pay people enough to live. Nah, too logical. Firehouse Subs: now proudly serving budget bin sadness in a firefighter hat. 10/10 for cost-cutting, 0/10 for literally everything else. Avoid unless you hate flavor and joy.

What an improvement over the tiny little order-at-the-counter spot with the free wine and rickety folding chairs! The food was good before, and it's still good, but the place is now a full service, upstairs-downstairs cozy spot. We had fried pickles, a sunshine salad (as a side salad), and a couple of hot dogs--the bacon dog and the Picklesburgh dog. Pickles were a tiny bit greasy but crunchy and substantial. The side salad was absolutely delicious with lots of textures and crunch, both acidic and a little sweet all at the same time. I would order it as a dinner salad for sure. I didn't try the bacon dog, but my husband liked it. The Picklesburgh dog was a delicious mess--truly, it was so messy--but it was crunchy and salty and briny, and totally worth ordering next time I'm in the mood for a dog. I shouldn't have waited so long to go back to Brick and Mortar; I'm glad we finally checked it out.
