For starters, it was a small move, about 25 boxes, just personal effects like clothes and desk supplies, one light and small piece of furniture, no heavy pieces, about a 3.5-hour drive. Rate was reasonable, they drove direct, no other pickups along the way. They arrived on time although they did not give me the one hour notice courtesy call prior to arrival. However, they were quick on the loading and unloading. The estimate remained the same even though I added a boxed queen mattress. Nothing damaged, all handled well. Wayne in particular, the driver, was professional, friendly and courteous. All good. The not so good was one of the movers, Man, before they started loading, told me that gratuities were expected. A bit annoyed at that presumption, I asked what was the normal tip which I think threw him off. He gave a figure of $250 per person. Considering the job was just under $1,400, $500 in tips adds more than a third (~35%). I also directed where certain boxes were to be put but they either did not hear or forgot. The same individual also needed to use the bathroom both at pickup and then again at delivery even though they had already stopped during the trip for a break. Seems odd to me - especially when the toilet wasn't flushed. I don't expect refined, educated butler types, but Fox is certainly giving those who may not be able to find work elsewhere, a chance. Perhaps that is admirable. I did email all of the people involved in the move with the feedback but unfortunately, Nery who does the scheduling, never got back to me, despite saying he would and me giving him a week to do so. read more

They were late, rude, and one took a personal phone call the entire time where he talked to his buddy about all the women he was sleeping with and the things he was doing to them. Upon arrival to our property, we were told to sign all documents for basic insurance purposes on the day of the move, before the three movers could proceed. One mover said he was not sure about the Green Egg, even though we noted the item ahead of the move and Fox Moving never called or asked any questions about it. They got approval from his manager to still move this item along with our other property on that day and encouraged this basic plan as a licensed and insured company. The mover even accepted cash from my husband if he didn't break it, so didn't have to go through further insurance. There is not a notice on their website or any documents we received prior to providing the move deposit, or else we would not have even chosen this company. We trusted our property would be handled professionally and with caution. Then after breaking our item they emailed a one page "waiver of liability" which was not clearly communicated to us prior to, during, or after the move, nor were we given a hard copy of that page that appears to be edited after a signature was added. We were never given a reason as to why a copy was not provided. The Green Egg did not break during or in the move transit. It was damaged upon a mover unloading it in the driveway at the final destination. One mover tried to take the item off the parked truck by himself, while the two other movers were not present outside to assist or spot him. The two other movers were instead inside the home, asking for a walk through. We asked the company claims department if it is protocol for their business to train movers to handle items such as this by themselves? We would imagine this to be against safe protocol based on the weight of the item alone. In turn, this mishandling upon offloading led to our property damage and their mover's face injury which to our knowledge also required an ER visit. We had to provide the mover with first aid using our own personal first aid kit, clothes, and bandages, as they did not have any first aid in their truck or on hand. Also, he was wearing crocs and again, the manager and claims department did not provide an answer for this in email or over the phone, just said the movers do what they want and they have no control over every incident that occurs. He then continued to move other items of our property from their company moving truck and into our home and bled throughout the process, even after we asked and encouraged him to leave and seek medical attention. He said he couldn't because he had to finish this job and had another job in Raleigh the next day. He mentioned the truck had video evidence from the moving truck security footage that verifies this incident occurred but we were never provided a copy even when asked to review this footage. As a licensed and insured professional moving company, we'd expect at the very least that the basic insurance plan covers at minimum a portion of this unfortunate mover safety/bio-hazard incident and damage to our property. When we questioned the manager about this during the call, 3 months after the incident with no emailed resolution, he said he acknowledged that the mover should have never unhooked the item solo upon delivery or should have kept wheels locked before taking strap off by himself without other movers there. However, he can't control his staff or what decisions they make but because fox moving is insured and bonded clients are protected? We asked how are we protected with the way they conducted business and did not get a clear answer. All the manager said was he did everything he needed to do and justified how the move was completed, so with basic insurance all he's willing to now even consider is $0.60/lb for the damaged item which is not even $200 for an item that cost $5000+ to replace. This seems extremely unprofessional and irresponsible for a business not to address and simply say they have no control of. I contacted Fox for a quote. I already had priced moving on my own. When I did the virtual walk through the sales person gave me a quote of $4999. When he mentioned weight I was concerned because my move included a golf cart and didn't know what that weighed. He guaranteed me this was a FIRM quote and the company NEVER did a bait and switch. He said it included breakdown and setup of furniture and handling of all TV's. There were supposed to be no hidden charges. I asked him about billing and he said no extra charges if I used a credit card. As soon as they arrive they changed all the pricing. At this point it's too late for me to find another provider. They said it would be an extra $800 even before they loaded. I had to run out to since on the contracts of sale but had someone there to watch the move. They left without packing everything and said if I wanted the rest of my stuff it would cost an extra $3k. When they dropped off the stuff they driver GUARANTEED me someone would get back to me by THE END OF DAY to go over the over billing. No one ever replied. Several of the items were damaged to to careless handling and tape all over furniture that damaged the furniture. They ignore your calls if you try to contact them. We have moved four times over the years. In all of those moves, we experienced no damaged funiture or broken items. The move by Fox was a disaster! We had numerous pieces of antique furniture broken, broken antique china and dishes, broken lamps and two vintage neon signs destroyed. At this time with less than half of the boxes emptied, we have over 50 broken and damaged items. If you want to replace all of your household goods, then this is the company to use. Fox provided a quote for our move, which was $350 less than a competitor's quote. However, after we paid our deposit, the owner conveyed that he incorrectly estimated the amount, but he would honor the price. Prior to our move, we sold two rooms of furniture, which decreased the amount of furniture counted in our initial estimate. Upon Fox's arrival, we were told by the supervising employee that Frank, the owner, instructed his team to treat us poorly. Regardless, we treated the team with kindness and respect, including a tip, lunch, and drinks for each employee on the first day. Here are the main issues summarized: 1) We had to pay an additional $451.50 because the moving crew arrived with only one truck instead of two. Although this was Fox's error, we were still forced to pay or find a last minute replacement moving company, which wasn't possible. This added additional expenses, an additional day to our move, and delayed our cleaning crew, which nearly delayed closing. 2) Our furniture was knicked, damaged, and broken. While Fox is obligated to replace and repair broken / damaged items, we've received zero communication on next steps since our claim was filed. 3) The crew severely damaged baseboards, walls, and put a large hole and gash in our upstairs wall. Fox's solution was to send out a repairman who spackled over the holes and never came back. You can't spackle over a significant hole in drywall. It will eventually crack or break if anything hits it wrong. Not to mention, the baseboards were also repaired with wood putty, despite having large gashes and chunks missing. The initial repair job for the baseboards is of very poor quality and glaringly obvious. Our move dates were 1/15 & 1/16. We've yet to receive definitive next steps from Fox after our claim was filed. If you don't mind having your house and belongings damaged, or paying more than you were quoted, this company is for you. If you're looking for a professional moving service that will honor their price and not destroy your furniture and house, look elsewhere. If I could give Fox zero stars, I would. read more

Please Share and Spread the Word! Let me begin by giving you a little backstory. We live off a quite side road in the rural area of Rowan County, one not traveled by the general public. Our driveway is approximately 100-150 yards long. At the end of our driveway, about 20 feet from the mailbox, we have a Trump flag hanging off of a pole about 8 feet in the air. This afternoon as I was unloading lumber into our shop, I witness a bright red box truck come to a screeching halt then proceed to back up in front of our driveway and stop. Curious as to who they were looking for, I began to walk to the corner of our house to get a look up towards our mailbox. As I turn the corner, I witnessed the passenger get out of the box truck and go to our flag and rip it off the pole. Without thinking, I scream "HEY" and begin to run towards the end of the driveway. Upon getting within 50 yards of the end of the driveway and the box truck, the man throws the flag down into the neighbors yard and jumps back into the box truck. As they takeoff the passenger screams "F**k You" and other vulgar words as they drive away. While leaving, I was able to get a good look at the box truck and realized that it was a Fox Moving and Storage truck. Upon realizing who the company was, I call the office (which is located in Charlotte) asking to speak to someone in charge. Eventually, I am able to make contact with the owner of Fox Moving and Storage and make him aware of the situation and the events that had took place. Instead of showing any remorse or care that his employees had committed an act of vandalism, he tells me he shouldn't have any trucks in my area (1. as if each truck isn't equipped with a gps system, 2. As I didn't see this bright red truck with a HUGE Fox on the side) and repeatedly tells me "if I FEEL that an act of vandalism had occurred, I should call the police as any "NORMAL" person would". So as Mr. Eddy wished, the Rowan County Sheriff's Office was made aware and notified of the incident. Although it may sound just petty, it makes me furious as what makes someone think they have the right to come onto private property and vandalize someone's property, just because they don't agree with your political views? As for Mr. Eddy, I am extremely disappointed in how unprofessional you handled the situation, making me wonder why anyone would want to hire you and your company's services. The movers were hired to move a four bedroom household from Charlotte, NC to Asheville, NC. At the end of the day, they unpacked and left a fridge in the living room of my sister - a 60 year old cancer survivor. It could have been rolled out of the front door, around the side to downstairs double door. It was not raining. The ground was dry and solid. Instead they refused to move a fridge with four guys and an appliance dolly on the basis that it would be "harmful to their guys". So they got in the truck and drove off. They left a fridge in the middle of the living room of a 60 year old cancer survivor after threatening to damage her house. I called and they repeatedly explained that moving a fridge would have put their guys at risk. So I do not think they should be asked to move things. If part of your plan is to call your relatives and explain that you will need to hire another mover because you were bullied into having a fridge in your living room, hire these guys. However, if you don't want to work with the kind of people who would bully a retiring older woman into accepting a fridge in the middle of a living room, don't. They didnt have the proper equipment on the truck to protect my furniture. I had to use my own blankets & sheets to cover my furniture. They didnt know how to load the truck they just threw the boxes everywhere. After watching them throw my things around, i holler out & said "Hold it!! Your gonna break my lamp" The worker says "I got it maam" but guess what? When I got home he had broke my lamp. Then one of the workers didnt even want to put bed in the room upstairs. They were so lazy. You could tell they were just wasting time to make the charge go up. So I called Fox moving company to file a claim about my lamp & they told me I had to send a certified letter to them in order for me to get a $60 refund on a lamp I paid $100 for. Fox Moving! I will NEVER recommend to anyone, not even my worst enemy. The first guy showed up late, the second two arrived even later. When they finally started moving the first guy worked hard. The second guy, we only saw him when the first guy needed help, he did come in sometimes. But, me and my son helped to put the washer and dryer on the dolly. My wife and daughter drove up, they were standing outside laughing and taking their time. Some of our furniture was outside but it wasn't being loaded onto the truck, our couch cushions were laying on the dirty sidewalk. They say they will break down your items and put them back together. They took the glass tops off of 2 TV stands and 2 desk, when they bought them into the house they laid them on the floor, did not attempt to put them together, they left the mattress leaning against the wall and didn't even put the bed next to the wall. They didn't take any boxes because they didn't have room after packing a 26ft truck of 37 pieces. (I was assured by Karen that there would be plenty of room). It took them 3hrs at $129.00 per hour, just to load the truck of a 2 bedroom apartment. It cost me $774.00, and I had to move my own boxes and pay these guys for standing around talking because they get paid by the hour. Karen said, "They could have been talking about loading the truck." I know the difference between someone standing around hanging out as oppose to actually working, trying to figure out how to pack a truck. I had to give then the address of where we were moving too. Once they got their they unpacked quickly, so that they could leave, which is why nothing was put back together. When I spoke to Karen on 11/23/2020 she said she would talk to her crew and call me back. Karen NEVER called, I waited till 4:50pm 11/24/2020 to call her to finally get an answer, with no partial, refund only excuses. Karen trusted her guys words over the Customer. If I didn't have an issue I wouldn't have called back (I know some people do, no matter how good a service is). They stated that we were not ready, we were moving from a 1274 sq ft apartment into a 2400sq ft house, we were ready. The living and dining room was in one area. When they cleared that out we moved the boxes into the living room so that they could get the deep freezer, washer and dryer out( remember I said that myself and my son had to help load the W&D on the dolly and they had a team of 3). Karen said that the boxes were not listed on the inventory list and also said it's not in HER notes, I never mentioned boxes! Who moves without boxes? But yes I did discuss, a 2 bedroom apt with the usual boxes that needs to be moved, also. Once again Karen said, "Not a problem, this is what we do, and we take our job seriously. We've been doing this for years. We have a 26ft truck so everything should fit." I paid Fox Moving for a professional move, that is NOT what I got. I should have went with my first instinct and went with the Uhaul "movinghelp.com" movers for $85 an hour. (You get what you pay for, not in this case). The U-haul guys are trying to establish a reputation and start a company. Fox is already a company with a good reputation, but not in this case! Just like Karen told me on the phone, "We've never had any complaints, you're the first." I guess that's why Karen didn't take mine seriously. Karen also told me that her guy showed her pics and video, this is something that I was not aware of someone taking pics or video inside my home, without my knowledge. Fox moving we were very excited to use as we had gotten many quotes and they by far were the most reasonable. Also, full transparency the gentlemen who moved us also did a fantastic job. My issue is with the owner and management of the establishment. Nery Tijerino was the management who came out and did our quote. He very specifically in conversation told my wife that they would dismantle our trampoline and put it back up. Now I will be honest this did surprise me that they offered this feature, so we followed up again when they called to confirm everything. "Yes ma'am we are there for as long as we need to be" well of course to our dismay the movers showed up and stated they would not be doing that. Which okay understood the communication was lost, so I am still thinking they will make this right, we call the establishment explain and get the supervisor Nery who was the one who did the walk through, great I thought, he will remember and help us sort this. NOPE he was completely unprofessional, stated he never said that and there was nothing they would do about it. All were extremely courteous, fun to be around and they got after it. It was around 90 degrees when they started and they packed the truck in 2 hours! This was not what I expected when I hired Fox Moving. The movers spent over 2 hrs trying to get their truck unstuck from the street (see pictures). They also told me I wouldn't be charged for the movers' half hour lunch break (I asked before buying them lunch). Well, I was overcharged by 2-1/2 hours because they included the 1/2 lunch break and the 2 hours they spent trying to get the truck unstuck on my bill. When I realized this, I called Frank, who said he wanted to make it right and just needed to talk to his boss and he'd call me back by the next day. I never heard from them again. The person who recommended them to me reached out and asked them to make it right and still no response. They've continually deleted my posts to their Facebook page that show pictures of our experience. The cherry on top is that one of the three movers was condescending and rude throughout the day and refused to carry two large chests up our open stairs. The mover pulled out a string to show it wouldn't fit. My husband, who thinks in 3D, explained the string only showed the width of the chest and there was also height and depth to consider. The chest could be tilted in different directions to easily make it upstairs. We gave up because at that point we wanted them gone. We made a bad choice when we hired Fox Movers and hope you don't do the same. read more

Movers did a lot of damage to our walls. They did not strap heavy furniture to hand trucks when bringing down steps. This resulted in a destroyed door frame and broken Sheetrock. It delayed a final walk through. The movers took boxes that were going to an apartment. They took trash with our belongings. I saw the truck shake and a worker said two dressers fell. I asked for photos but never received. When items were returned all wood furniture was heavily damaged. Deep scratches. It had to be filled in and sanded and stained. Nothing could be done for dining table. New dryer is dented front and center. Professional pots and pans not returned. Mattresses left in zippered bags but came back bare. They are badly soiled with what looks like pee and period stains. There is even muddy foot prints on it. The back has a hole. Priceless art obviously was not stored in a climate controlled area. It's ruined. I'm let down. I feel robbed. I was sold an insurance policy but it's bogus. read more
