Run, don't walk away from this totally unprofessional & incompetent moving company. We booked Roma for Saturday June 18th. Arrival time was supposed to be between 9-10am. I received a phone call from Alex at 7:43am, informing me that they had a couple call outs the night before, and they would have to cancel our move that day. He informed me they could do the move Monday, and asked if that would work for us. I said no, that Sunday would be acceptable. Alex informed me he would forward that information to the office and someone would be in touch. That was the last I heard from anyone at this company. I tried to reach out to him on Saturday evening to ask if they were going to be able to move us Sunday, and got zero response. Moving is a large stressful ordeal as it is, get a real professional moving company instead of dealing with these clowns. Their contract totally covers their ass with regard to the customer canceling, but offers no protection for the customer when and if they totally dissappear on you. Everything we own was packed and ready to go for our Saturday morning move, and we are left to try to find another company, on very short notice, to move us ASAP because of Alex and Roma Movings total incompetence, and lack of professionalism. Read the other bad reviews and sprint away from this company. At least they were never able to destroy our personal belongings like all the other bad reviews have stated. read more

Let me start by saying responsiveness wasn't an issue to get started... they were fast and responsive in coordinating a simple furniture move a week in advance. (That's impressive). However, things got a bit clunky after that... the day before the move I was called to confirm the foreman would call me to tell me he was 30-minutes out. (Fair enough). The day of the move... the window I was supposed to expect them came and went - no call, no nothing. I was meeting them at a location, so that was a bit strange. I called and that guy was fine saying he'd call the foreman, but then he hung up and I never heard from him again. Eventually the foreman called very apologetic (I appreciated that) and noted he had folks out due to covid, etc. but had one guy on the way and he'd call me again). The move ultimately started 1-hour late. Fine. I wasn't happy, but I didn't hold it against the guy - I was grateful for the help. They did a decent enough job loading the truck of 3 large pieces of furniture.... however, when we got to the final destination it was obvious they had dinged things and scratched quite a bit. (I MEAN A LOT)! The guest mover guy blatantly scratched the side of my desk with his belt and looked at me in hopes that I wouldn't notice. Oh - I noticed. It was BAD. This same guy was clearly smoking in the car ride too...... (and I don't mean cigarettes). Again, FINE - but a 2-hour move cost me a minimum $$ and they scratched the heck out of the furniture. I got a deal on the purchase, so I neglected to make a big deal out of it, not to mention I just sensed they'd get super defensive and I wasn't interested in the battle on a Sunday. Just proceed with awareness. If you have fine items or furniture you don't want dinged, you may want to look elsewhere, if you want a basic, affordable move? these guys are just fine. The foreman gets the credit, he did his best - he was professional and certainly courteous but the whole experience left me less than "over the moon". I have used Roma Moving 2 times since I moved to charlotte. If you want quality over quantity, this is the company to call. They carefully handle your furniture, wrap things so nothing is damaged. They assemble and reassemble any and all furniture if needed. The guys move carefully and swiftly but satisfaction is definitely guaranteed. I believe their prices are very acceptable when you take account to the inflation everyone is enduring these days. I myself, believe you get what you pay for, so I look for quality, professionalism and promptness, which Roma Moving provides all of the above. I moved most of my things, but I needed someone to help me move the furniture, since I lived on the third floor and I've been having problems with my left knee lately. I talked to a couple of movers, and I didn't get good vibes (they were either way expensive or they just felt unreliable for whatever reason). But Roma not only was less expensive than most of the movers but they also were very interested in my business, even though I didn't have a lot to move. I estimated it would take about two hours, and the person I spoke to not only gave me an estimate of three hours (which I was fine with, since I lived on the third floor and I know wrapping and positioning furniture for moving can take a while) but said he wouldn't charge me more if it took more than three hours. It took almost exactly two hours, which is what I was charged for, and I couldn't ask for three better guys. They didn't just work hard, they worked fast, like they were in a competition to get my move done as quickly as possible. I would recommend Roma to anyone and everyone that's moving. These guys are wonderful. They're friendly, they walk you through exactly what you need for them to do, and they work their butts off. I've moved somewhat frequently, and I've never had a bad experience with movers fortunately. But these are the first movers I would give five stars to without hesitation. I recently used this moving company to move me from a high rise building. I was on the 10th floor and this required using elevators, unfortunately everyone else in the building decided to use these same elevators at the time of my move, I thought this would be a nightmare. To my surprise the movers were on time and handled this situation with great professionalism it amazed me. They did a wonderful job and kept the time and price very reasonable. What I can tell you is that if you're the type of person that's willing to be involved in your move and actively making sure things are done the way you would like them done on moving day, then this is a great company. HORRIBLE......they showed up w/no mask, called 45 min early and when I arrived they had an attitude. Broke expensive pieces, scratched up my new dinette table, tore the weather stripping on a door trying to fit a huge mattress out of a small door. The movers did not arrive at the same time. They started between an hour and two hours late from the estimated start time. Two of them REEKED of pot, and my house still smells like it even after they've left. These guys couldn't have moved slower than if I'd hired a blind geriatric team... lots of sitting around, standing around. I had to keep asking them to come get things to load and the entire day I kept asking my husband "What are they doing?" because nothing was being moved. After 7+ hours of begging them to work, providing their lunch, doing everything we could to help and paying them $1300... we told them to leave and we are moving ourselves. They destroyed NUMEROUS walls, broke things before they were even loaded, stacked sofas on top of each other so I'm pretty sure $16,000 worth of furniture is ruined before we even unload. I know for a fact other furniture is damaged the way it's been loaded. When I asked them to please load the things we asked them to load, I was met with attitude and "This is bullshit" for the next hour until we could get them out of our house. Exhausted. Pissed. Emotional. I have them booked to unload next week but I'm canceling, no way I'm hiring them again. read more

This has been the worst experience I've had dealing with a company to make good on their contract. They showed up and all was fine until I realized they had broken the entire leg off of my kitchen table, completely broke a mirror, scratched a very large nice mirror of mine up so deep it has dents in it, scratched up my sofa, broke a lamp and small little scratches on my bedroom suite. They did not wrap 1 single item up to protect it but I thought it would be okay bc it seemed as if they were using blankets to pad/separate item or prevent scratches. Well the damage is not entirely the issue I have with this slum of a company its the way the owner Mike treated me afterwards..I paid for the move in full and he assured me he would repair my items or pay the damage out himself because he has a 1000 deductible on his insurance policy..he promised to come by one day with no call no show promised a 2nd time with no call no show to settle the damage claim so after day 2 and no response to my concern he gets an attitude with me and says I need to read my contract and if anything he owes me $50 @ the most bc all he is responsible for is a 8lb mirror (1 of my mirrors has to weigh about 200lbs it's extremely large and heavy). He was very rude and I asked why the change of heart and attitude but he couldn't tell me. I will post screen shots of our text messages I was never rude or cursing at him the only mistake I made was paying for my move in full believing this was a reputable company that would stand by their own contract and not risk sullying their reputation over something that I'm sure is quite common to happen in their line of work. I will be filing a lawsuit, reporting him to BBB and any other platform I can because the way he treated me has been really shocking and hurtful to say the least. So this was by far the best move I ever had. Let start off by saying I was nervous scared and my anxiety was high. My parents were gone to florida and everyone else in my family was older and lets just me and boyfriend just was not going to cut it. The whole process was easier than I thought I sent them a message they sent one back. They were the most reasonable so I went with it. They asked what day and time and I was booked. I have moved many times and have used many moving companies. Roma Moving - handled this job with easy professionalism. My request for a quote was handled online within an hour and then I booked them. Their price was certainly competitive and even dramatically lower than others. They gave me an honest time about pickup and they were off only by one hour. Despite that, I received a call about 2 hours before advising they would be a late. Great Communication. The movers were nice, professional, and jumped right in. They reviewed the quote I had been given and re-advised the cost. The move was done within 15 minutes of the quoted time and I had no issues at all with any damage or misunderstandings. I need 5 more stars for these guys. I have moved a lot in my lifetime, but never have I had such an incredible mover. These guys are top notch. I had a washer and dryer on the second floor that I was moving out, these guys managed to move the units down a very narrow staircase that turned halfway down the stairs without a single nick anywhere. They were fast and super respectful. Oh, and they even hooked up my washer and dryer in the new home. I have never given a monetary tip to a mover, until Roma Moving. No damage to anything and these guys were so fast that I ended up paying about $100 less than I expected--they charge by the hour and could have very well taken their time, but they were running things into the van. read more

I can't remember ever publicly posting negative comments about a company but I'm extremely motivated to save the next person the trouble I've had with ROMA moving company. They are the most unprofessional company I've had the displeasure of moving with - and I've moved a number of times. They came ill prepared regarding materials and labor. They had 2 trucks and 5 guys which should have been adequate had they been regular employees and properly trained. However, the workers were actually dancing, strolling around with nothing in their hands and on their phones repeatedly until witnessed by me or the manager. My furniture was badly damaged and my walls were also damaged. Even though I was fully prepared and had everything boxed, labeled and color coded for where it should all go the move took 16 hours (ending after 2am) due to labor issues and unpreparedness (having to stop for gas even though they were late to arrive at the job, idle workers and having to come up with last minute solutions because they came without enough wrap and blankets). I fervently caution you about hiring ROMA moving company owned by Alex, a man who seems pleasant enough on the phone but who was extremely unyielding when it came time to make recompense for his workers' issues. I thought the negative reviews were the outliers but it turns out it is the positive reviews that are the anomalies (or when former owner, Michael, ran the company). I booked this appointment two weeks ago, this morning when I called to confirm they would be here at noon, the answer was that they were running a little late and/or slightly behind, which in their terms is, 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Then an update via text, with its going to be more like 5:30 or 6pm. Obviously, I needed to get an "accurate" time of when they were going to be here and I asked for the owner's phone #. The response to that was... a text back telling me that "they we're going to decline" on our job. Which is EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL ! So, if you want to move and have someone show up on time, hire ANYONE ELSE, but Roma Moving. If Scott is not the owner, the owner should feel free to contact me through YELP. read more
