I received a phone call from Alex at 7:43am, informing me that they had a couple call outs the night before, and they would have to cancel our move that day. He informed me they could do the move Monday, and asked if that would work for us. I said no, that Sunday would be acceptable. Alex informed me he would forward that information to the office and someone would be in touch. That was the last I heard from anyone at this company. I tried to reach out to him on Saturday evening to ask if they were going to be able to move us Sunday, and got zero response. Moving is a large stressful ordeal as it is, get a real professional moving company instead of dealing with these clowns. Their contract totally covers their ass with regard to the customer canceling, but offers no protection for the customer when and if they totally dissappear on you. Everything we own was packed and ready to go for our Saturday morning move, and we are left to try to find another company, on very short notice, to move us ASAP because of Alex and Roma Movings total incompetence, and lack of professionalism. Read the other bad reviews and sprint away from this company. At least they were never able to destroy our personal belongings like all the other bad reviews have stated.

I called and that guy was fine saying he'd call the foreman, but then he hung up and I never heard from him again. The move ultimately started 1-hour late. Fine. I wasn't happy, but I didn't hold it against the guy - I was grateful for the help. They did a decent enough job loading the truck of 3 large pieces of furniture.... however, when we got to the final destination it was obvious they had dinged things and scratched quite a bit. (I MEAN A LOT)! The guest mover guy blatantly scratched the side of my desk with his belt and looked at me in hopes that I wouldn't notice. Oh - I noticed. It was BAD. This same guy was clearly smoking in the car ride too...... (and I don't mean cigarettes). Again, FINE - but a 2-hour move cost me a minimum $$ and they scratched the heck out of the furniture. I got a deal on the purchase, so I neglected to make a big deal out of it, not to mention I just sensed they'd get super defensive and I wasn't interested in the battle on a Sunday. Just proceed with awareness. If you have fine items or furniture you don't want dinged, you may want to look elsewhere, if you want a basic, affordable move? these guys are just fine. Throughout the process, they were incredibly kind and respectful, both in our phone communications and in their interactions with my mom, who was onsite. Since I couldn't be there in person, they kept me updated with regular progress reports and photos, which I really appreciated. When their estimate came in (5 movers, 3 trucks and 7 hours) we thought that seemed a bit much but we deferred to their experience. I am giving them 2 stars because they did arrive on time, they generally protected our furniture and homes, The team leader was polite enough and the initial customer service was good - up until moving day. Things we had problems with: 1) The 5 movers were very disorganized and inefficient. This meant they couldn't load all the furniture we requested and during unloading they still went more than 2 hours past their own unloading estimate. When my husband found items in incorrect rooms, they failed to put them in correct rooms, despite repeated requests. We are still finding clearly labeled boxes and furniture in the wrong rooms. 2) The movers used my husband's tools without his permission and still did not assemble the items they were using the tools on correctly. 3) The amount of truck space was mis-estimated. The second truck had barely anything in it. Perhaps because they didn't load all they said they would, but that second truck was expensive. 4) Despite expressing concerns they damaged several items and dented our basement ceiling. 5) And finally, I reached out to them 3 times to try to resolve the issues. Each time they set up a call, which I rearranged my work schedule to take, and then ghosted me. We delayed finishing our move almost 2 weeks because we hoped they would make things right, but they failed repeatedly to communicate. In the end, after paying them over $3k for an incomplete move, my husband and I still had to rent a uhaul to finish our move. I will never use their services again and I recommend you don't either.

The Yelp reviews closely mirror my experience. I initially spoke with Lloyd, who came to my home to assess the items. I pointed out several fragile pieces, and he assured me that his team would wrap them, including a jewelry stand, vases, and pictures. He provided a quote for $702.50, and we scheduled the move for August 14 between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. At 10:24 a.m., I texted to ask for an updated arrival time and received a response of ten minutes. The movers arrived at 10:55 a.m. Once they began, the process appeared to be going smoothly. While they were packing the truck, I was transporting boxes in my car to the destination. After they completed the move and began unloading, I returned to my home and discovered that several items had been left behind. When I notified them, they stated they could not take the vases and pictures because they were not packed. I reminded them of my conversation with Lloyd, and I also pointed out a bench that had been left in the dining room. They then agreed to return for the remaining items. While unloading, I witnessed one mover attempt to place my dining table on a dolly without wrapping it. The table rolled off, and the leaf fell out. I took photos. When I addressed this with the lead mover, he suggested repairing it with wood glue, which was unacceptable. At the end of the job, I was charged $897.00 and informed that they accept only cash, Cash App, or Zelle, which prevents any credit card dispute. I contacted Lloyd regarding the damaged table, the items left behind, and the lack of proper wrapping. He stated he was not aware of the damage and later claimed he had fired the movers because they were using his business to start their own. When I inspected my storage unit, I found the items packed in an unsafe and poorly organized manner, with heavy items stacked on top of unstable pieces. My mattress and bedframe were placed at the front, and other items were at risk of tipping over. Lloyd agreed the unit was poorly packed and came with his daughter to help me get to some boxes that were stacked very high. also showed him the condition of my sofa and bedframe, which were only partially wrapped, resulting in dirt on the sofa. When I sent photos of the damage, Lloyd did not mention filing a claim. Instead, he offered to pay out of pocket but said he could not do so immediately due to family issues. After giving him thirty days, he sent $200 through Zelle and stated that no further reimbursement would be provided. Although Lloyd was polite, he consistently avoided accountability and offered multiple excuses. Based on my experience, I do not recommend AMEN Movers. The lack of care, inconsistency, and overall inconvenience outweighed any benefit of supporting a local business. Of course you see a one star because I had to but definitely Zero stars. I AM SO SORRY FOR THIS LATE & LONG OVER DUE REVIEW I HOPE IT'S NOT TOO LATE!…read more I booked Hornet Moving fairly late in my moving process - barely 48 hrs prior - due to the incredibly convenient, straightforward upfront pricing and direct booking, all on their website (way less of a hassle and much faster than filling out a form and waiting to receive an estimate back, like most others). This was my 8th move in 6.5 yrs and my 7 previous moving experiences were painful for a number of reasons, several of those being due to the moving company/movers booked. I was anticipating this move to match the pain of the previous at minimum, possibly worse, due to other circumstances regarding my moving situation (completely unrelated to my confidence in Hornet Moving or any moving company in general). HOWEVER, to my surprise and relief, this was my best experience with a moving company/movers to date!!!! BIG BIG HUGE SHOUT OUT and THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH TO MY MOVING CREW - JARRETT, ARTHUR, and GUSTAVO!!!! My scheduled moving time was in the afternoon (~1 PM) which Hornet Moving makes it clear that afternoon apts are not guaranteed to start right at 1 PM on the dot and could arrive anytime between 1-4 PM (makes sense and is fair enough considering that the crew is likely coming from another moving job booked for that morning). So I was aware of this and did not expect for them to be on time given that there's only so much within their control there. But they WERE on time!!! By the time they got parked where they needed to, unloaded their supplies, and started the moving for my apt unit belongings on the 4th floor and also my remaining storage unit items on the 1st floor, commuted to my new place (about a ~4-5.5 mile trip depending on route, typically between ~10-20 mins depending on traffic/time) and unloaded everything (while also having to rearrange boxes and misc. furniture I had already brought over that were in the way of unloading everything else), they were 100% finished and had already left the driveway before 4:30 PM!!! They also boxed my 65" TV and my 75" TV (which I had saved the original boxes for). I found Hornet Moving from using Google's "AI Mode" to search for movers that handled TVs, including TV mounting service, and options with upfront pricing and/or direct booking entirely online. Hornet Moving came up as a result checking all those boxes!! I found out once the movers arrived that TV mounting is not a service Hornet Moving directly provides as part of the moving job, however, that ended up working out fine since I wasn't able to have my TV mounted at that time anyway due to some electrician work that was not yet complete. Several large and heavy pieces of my furniture are considered "particle board" / -related material items, which are easily damaged during moves due to durability (my previous move before this resulted in almost all of my stuff getting damaged, chipped, scratched, dented, etc. in one way or another due to the movers not wrapping these items well, or at all, and that was during a move within the same apartment building from one unit to another - so none of these items were loaded into a moving truck and/or commuted, yet they still got damaged due to carelessness ). I worried about those items this time around, but Hornet Moving wrapped my furniture properly with TLC and handled everything with the utmost care!!!! All of my belongings made the move safe, sound, and undamaged‼‼‼ Again, best moving experience I've had!!!!! The crew and company was great and easy to work with from start to finish. The online booking process is wonderfully easy and convenient, and they were incredibly prompt and responsive with their communication. 0 complaints to be found, even if I wanted to look for something to nitpick!!!
