Forked in Hickory exceeded our expectations as we explored high end cocktails for our wedding. Although the Hugo Spritz wasn't on their menu, the staff was more than happy to accommodate our request, and it turned out to be absolutely delightful a drink we ultimately chose for our wedding. Additionally, the espresso martini also offered phenomenal flavors which we decided on for our second wedding cocktail. We also tried their take on a French 75. The ambiance was both sophisticated and relaxed, making Forked an ideal spot for a special date night. While we only tried the Caesar salad, which was fresh and satisfying, the rest of the menu looked exceptional, and I'm eager to return to explore more of their offerings. Forked is a must-visit for anyone seeking refined dining and creative drinks.

Fourk continues to be our Hickory favorite. The new Fall 2025 menu has some new offerings and keeps some longtime favorites. The 4th Street scallops were an instant hit for me. Patrick provided the excellent service we have come to expect at Fourk. I can't write a review without mentioning the blackberry wine cake, it's a perennial favorite and even if we don't have room for dessert we always get it to go. If you haven't tried Fourk you definitely should.

First of all, let me start by saying how excited I was to try this restaurant. The food was the stand out. My husband doesn't typically like food with random ingredients, but he raved about everything he ate. So for me that's a win. For me, my mahi wasn't edible because it tasted like the grill, but the underneath shrimp and mussels were amazing! Our server was so sweet. I wish I could remember her name, she was truly lovely. The decor was very clean and simple, but it was quite loud. My husband and I had a hard time making conversation. My main issues was my first impression. We walked in at 7:45 for our 8:00 reservation. I was greeted by the hostess and she was looking for us a table when, I'm assuming the manager, tells her while we are waiting, that I was wrong and I did not have a reservation. Since you do voicemail confirmation, I kindly told her that I have a voicemail confirming and said the name of the girl who left it. And she just looked at me and said "well she wasn't feeling well..." I was so uncomfortable with the whole interaction, that everything after that felt very off. She wasn't friendly at all and mine and my husbands impression was that she did not want us there. It was disappointing and everything felt flat for me after that.

Wifey and I went to see a friend's band open for Rehab so we had to pre-game lol . Fourk opens at 5 our reservations were for 5 but the hostess suggested a drink at the bar while our table was made ready - gee a drink before dinner what a concept so we agreed - a beer for me and a Lichee cocktail for the missus . She loved it !! We had the Lobster fondue as an app - delicious and had to take some home. Wife had the Honey-Chipotle salmon - loved it!!!! I had a special which was the ultimate food with a twist - grilled venison picanha steak with a Thai pepper sauce served with wagyu and bison sausage infused in couscous pearls fried potato's and an egg because why not? I would give 10 stars that's how good everything was !!

Watery, flavorless, overcooked shrimp and pasta - zero crab. I did have a crab shell that was fun to bite on though.

My husband made a reservation for our 28th anniversary and we were excited to try Fourk, since it seems pretty busy. We walked in at 6:20 (6:30 reservation) and checked in with hostess. She had no smile, or warm greeting. Just cold and unwelcoming. We felt like she did not want to be there. This should've been our clue for what was to come. We ordered two cocktails, two appetizers - crispy Brussels sprouts & "baked Brie", the seafood melange, minus the scallops & a rib eye steak. Cocktails were okay. Brussel sprouts were a greasy mess with some weird carrot topping on top. The "baked Brie" I put that in quotes because it's the weirdest, concoction I've ever seen. Not too hard to ruin that, but they did. It came in a flavorless, dark brown crust that looked like asphalt. There was no ooze to the cheese. It was tepid warm with EXTRA chewy, flavorless bread. I can see using crostini - to spread the cheese..never had anything like that before. After the apps and drinks, zero personality hostess..my hub and I were thinking, "wow, what's next?" After over an hour, our entrees arrived. Our server muttered something 50 mins in, that the "kitchen was working hard on our meals" then he quickly left. Husbands steak arrived looking charred. No steak knife - we had to flag down the server who started talking about mashed potatoes ??? My dish, the "seafood melange" was the grossest, tasteless, overcooked pasta dish I have ever had in a restaurant. Pretty sure the recipe is this: boil pasta until it's mush. Boil shrimp until it's white rubber, ZERO seasoning, zero garlic, zero anything to make it resemble a restaurant seafood pasta dish. Add 1 tsp of tomato sauce, a gallon of water, a sprinkle of micro greens and there's the "seafood melange." I couldn't eat it. Server took it away & plopped down the menu I said "no thank you." Manager came by table - "comped" the dish. (I didn't eat it). We spent over $100 & left starving. Funny - in looking at the reviews - another person wrote pretty much the exact thing I said about the Brie app & disgusting pasta dish. I'm not sure how this place is busy. $100 - anniversary dinner, left hungry. Olive Garden is a Michelin star restaurant over Fourk and they obviously don't change how the food is cooked if over 2 years ago, same descriptions of the tasteless pasta. Very disappointing.

Awesome food, well prepared and even better served. We tried variety of cuisines with many vegetarian options, like Yuca fries, Mediterranean Trilogy, Mushroom Risotto, and everything was delicious. The dessert topped it all. We had stopped by on our way to Asheville based on a friend's recommendation, and we are so glad that we did. Highly recommend this gem in Hickory.

Located in Viewmont, Fourk is one of the nicer new American restaurants in Hickory. Fourk has several seafood offerings, nice cocktails, and clean decor. You can park on the street or in nearby lots for free. For heavier eaters, you may want to order an appetizer and/or dessert as the entree portions aren't overly plentiful. For me, the portion and quality was great. One dish we ordered (salmon) was a bit under-seasoned. Fourk has reasonable bottled wine prices and a private event room for larger groups. Fourk allows consumers to purchase gift cards easily.

Made reservations for a girls night/Galantines dinner and it was such a blast! Was hoping for something better but I have to agree with fellow reviewers - the food was very bland. I had the slider trio and butternut soup. For all the items on the burgers I was expecting great flavor but it was basically a burger with crunch from the slaw. The soup was flat - it either needed to be sweeter or more savory. The seeds on top would have better impact if they had been toasted. The atmosphere is nice and the server at the bar was attentive but it wasn't enough to make me want to come back. read more

I love FOURK. I love it more as a lunch time w friends kinda place and not dinner but that is just my preference. They have good specials, amazing bar staff, amazing servers. I have to say the staff at FOURK is ChikFilA level nice, and the owners are usually walking around talking to tables and checking on your experience as well. Thursday night is usually live music: rotating between dinner acoustic style and more lively jazz but nothing ear splitting. Highly recommend great local vibe. read more

We went for my wife's birthday and it was a great experience, they treated us like family, with a birthday card at the table, no matter that we never mentioned that was why we were there. The waitstaff was awesome recommending drinks, and the food was outstanding! Not crowded, and the dress was super casual, as I go no where I can't wear my grey shirts and khaki shorts in the summer. Wonderful menu! The staff is knowledgable and friendly and the food is out of this world! So good that you'll go for lunch and want to come back for dinner. I had the filet with cauliflower mash and veggies and it was very good! The steak was one of the best I've ever had! The mash was yummy too and I'm not even a huge cauliflower fan. I had the French onion soup, a drink, and Stuffed Chicken. The drink was rather weak, the FO soup was bland and the onions tasted like they had been added straight to the soup instead of sautéed/caramelized first, which is part of what gives FO soup its trademark flavor. The cheese was melted but not broiled. I'm picky about my FO soup :p The chicken was tough and dry, but had a delicious creamy sauce. It was stuffed with a perfect blend of spinach and cheese. The dish came with risotto which was also bland but otherwise fine, and crispy green beans. Lovely atmosphere and friendly service. The food wasn't necessarily bad, it just wasn't terrific. read more

Ugh! Big bowl of goopy noodles. We ordered chicken caprese pasta. Ours had no basil and three tiny cherry tomatoes drowning in heavy cheese sauce. Chef came out in pajama pants and explained that the dish was short on the main ingredients because it was winter. What??? At the end of the meal the manager comped the meal because of the obvious lack of attention to detail. We were given a delicious piece of blackberry wine cake with fresh blackberry sauce. It was so good. The manager told us the owner's father made nearly all the desserts. read more

Beautiful place! Friendly hostess and incredibly patient bartender.... we had such a great time we didn't notice the place was just about closed when we looked up! We had felt so comfortable we had stayed and ordered drinks and kept enjoying ourselves! This was our first visit to this restaurant. I had a kale quinoa salad with salmon that was out of this world. We started with the tuscan chicken soup. All of the foods was fantastic. Met a friend here for lunch and it was very nice atmosphere. My shrimp Thai salad was kind of plain so I wouldn't order it again but the veggie burger and the naked crab cakes were excellent. We found this place on Yelp and it was honestly the best decision we ever made!!! The customer service was impeccable-the food was so good. We really enjoyed their Buffalo bites starter for only $5!! Decided to give Fourk a second chance after my one star review 18 months ago. Let's get right to it: Turkey Buffalo bites for our app. Really nice job on this dish. Our plate emptied way too quickly. Tomato bisque and French Onion Soup. The Mrs had the bisque and she loved it. I had the French Onion. It was nicely done. Probably the second best I've ever had. It could be award winning if they made their own croutons and left some on top to mix in as you go (hint hint). We ordered rosemary chicken and pork chop for our entrees. The chicken was spot on and extremely flavorful. My pork chop was cooked perfectly. The chop was complimented by an apple sauce purée and butternut squash risotto. Apple sauce was a little sweet for my taste, but the risotto was good. Service was excellent! Think the server was new by the way he made it sound. He did a super nice job. Nice dining experience. We'll make it back for a third time. read more

Stopped in Hickory for the night and decided on Fourk for dinner. Wonderful experience! Ambiance was nice and the food was outstanding. My husband and I both had fish. I had Mahi and he had salmon. We are both discriminating on how the fish is cooked and thought that both main courses were cooked to perfection (and not overcooked). Our salads (with blue cheese and mine with citrus champagne dressings) were exquisite. Our waiter, Jamie was great and we always appreciate a manager stopping by to see how we are enjoying our meal. We also had the brie appetizer and creme brûlée for dessert. Both good. It was a $100 night but worth it. Highly recommend! read more

Excellent food! Presentation & taste were spectacular. Rivals the best restaurants in NYC. We were a party of 3. Had steak tartar to start & lobster bisque. Bisque had chunks of tender lobster. Had seafood melange, sesame scallops & rosemary chicken...all seafood & chicken was tender & tasty. Dishes were a substantial size & filling. Blackberry pound cake with icing was an added bonus. I thought this was an upscale restaurant. The atmosphere was great but the food not so great. We decided to try the lobster dip for an appetizer and the question was "where's the lobster " it was barely warm and so sweet. Then our entrees came out this was a real joke I ordered the Korean pork with sesame rice & vegetables. Needles to say the rice was hard (under cooked)overly seasoned with seasoned oil and salt. The boneless pork chop had no type of Korean BBQ sauce or seasoning . The vegetables were mushed up with over powering ginger and salt. My sister ordered the mushroom chicken it was over cooked with a vinegar taste. The wontons were over fried. I noticed that everyone that was eating there was eating a burger or a salad. This place is an over rated expensive joke. We will not be recommending or going back there!! read more

Nice restaurant in a business Plaza. Scallops encrusted served with risotto and topped with sautéed spinach is exquisite. Grilled bread with melted butter comes out first and is scrumptious. Wait staff friendly and knowledgeable. A must find when in Hickory. read more

I've came here 3 times through out my north Carolina visit and I'm glad to say the food here has never let me down. I came for there lunch menu and had the best hickory smoked bacon chilled cheese with creamy tomato soup and sweet potato fries I've ever had. The sandwich was well toasted with scolding grill marks, while the tomato soup had a very nice thickness and garnishes. While the nice thick cuts of sweet potato fries really completed the meal. For dinner I ordered the buffalo bites and the grilled jerk chicken. The buffalo bites were some what of a meat ball covered in Buffalo sauce very enjoyable. This place is great!!!! We started out at the bar to have a drink before being seated to have dinner and the bartenders were so helpful and very knowledgeable about anything we asked!!!' We ended up staying at the bar for our meal and all of the drinks appetizer and the meal was out of This world!!! Loved the atmosphere and how friendly the staff was!!!! The salmon and ahi tuna was excellent!!!!! Can't wait To go back!!!!! read more

When we decided on this location, we called ahead and were told no reservations we taken, first come first served. So with the twins and their cousin, we had 3 9-month old babies. Very aware of the complexity of this, we brought hook on chairs and arrived around 5:00. The hostess tried to seat us at a much too small table in the back room, and when we inquired about a larger one, we were told it was "reserved ". . We were seated in a long booth in the bar. The waitress seemed very rushed and upon first visit to table asked if we were ready to order. We were not told of any specials, etc. Good news was that we had decided to be ready and get our full orders in quickly. We ordered an appetizer and cocktails to begin, which came out quickly. My Son in law asked for a fairly plain burger, but wondered if fried onions which were listed on another burger could be added. Waitress said " prob not... but I'll ask". It did not come with the added onions. I asked for my favorite pizza.. she said there's no pizza tonight. While waiting on food, we asked for a couple of orange slices, which we had taken from cocktails to entertain/feed the babies. Waitress said they couldn't do that because the oranges are for the bartender garnishes. I asked for another cocktail with extra oranges and thankfully was given one extra sliver. When our meal was finished, our curt waitress asked if we needed anything else, so we just asked for the check. No suggestion of dessert, etc. We were never visited by the manager to see how all was going... because if so I would have asked if this was establishment policy or simply a rude waitress. We tipped 15%... and let that be it. Note that the babies were fantastic... very little fussing at all. We kept all except the floor cleaned up after them. On our way out... we seemed to be on the waitress's way... she never said anything like have a good night, etc... but shouted "Behind you!" twice on her way to deliver another table's food, and as we were getting out of her way to leave. A disappointing end to a restaurant experience I'd enjoyed before. Note to self... not particularly baby friendly.

This place is amazing! When you go, you have to start with the Jalapeno Pineappletini. It is the best! I get it every time I go there. They also serve beers from local breweries, I love that they are supporting the local economy. The food fabulous! I live in Charlotte and we have a lot of restaurants, but I would definitely say that the quality of the food is comparable (if not better) to places that I eat at in Charlotte. The service is better than many places in Charlotte, its very personal. One of the owners was born and raised in Hickory and she will remember you every time you come in. The other owner, her husband, has been in the restaurant industry for years and he knows how to run a successful restaurant. I would have to say the filet mignon is my favorite entree and the cauliflower mash that comes with it is to die for! I actually attempted to duplicate it at home; mine was good but not as good as Fourk's! If you live in or even near Hickory, make Fourk a priority to try. read more

We live in the area but this actually our very first time dining here. We didn't have reservations and they were booked, but, there was more than ample seating in the bar. The restaurant has an upscale/trendy vibe and their was a mix of families and couples of all ages. Our server (Brittany) was super nice kept our glasses full and was very helpful in recommending entrees and sides. The food was FANTASTIC! I had the Seafood Mac-n-Cheese and my wife had the Boston Steak loaf. We also had dessert which was out of this world as well! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who asks. The bill for the two of us came in at just under $80 which I felt was reasonable considering we had drinks, dinner and dessert. A+++ read more

Chef Joyce along with inspiring bartenders and first class wait staff make this a 'must do' spot for lunch, dinner and large parties. Also impressive is their goal of knowing their customers and ensuring a warm greeting for newcomers and repeat patrons alike. Enjoyed my visit to Fourk over the Holidays with my staff of 7 and the same week returned with some of my colleagues who were visiting from all over the United States. Everyone ordered different entrees and raved about their meals. Fourk accommodated our larger group with ease and focused on the little details that make such a huge difference like the Blue cheese stuffed Olives in the fantastic Martinis :) I've been back a couple times and have enjoyed the feel of the reasturant and consider Fourk as one of my favorites.
