I've came here 3 times through out my north Carolina visit and I'm glad to say the food here has never let me down. I came for there lunch menu and had the best hickory smoked bacon chilled cheese with creamy tomato soup and sweet potato fries I've ever had. The sandwich was well toasted with scolding grill marks, while the tomato soup had a very nice thickness and garnishes. While the nice thick cuts of sweet potato fries really completed the meal. For dinner I ordered the buffalo bites and the grilled jerk chicken. The buffalo bites were some what of a meat ball covered in Buffalo sauce very enjoyable. I didn't expect to how good the jerk chicken was going to be but I was pleasantly surprised but the zesty flavors of the dice vegetables. A must stop if your in Hickory, North Carolina read more

Update: This place has tragically gone downhill. After several additional visits, the food is consistency sub-par. The staff is always great, but the food is a big thumbs down. Bar service with Lindsey is top-knotch. Very attentive and takes care of you despite busy pockets throughout the night. Atmosphere is good, the only negative are the number of young children present in the bar area. Management needs to be more assertive that it is a "kid free area". It would have been five stars, but the app had far too much sauce. Lindsay offered a redo on it. Like I said, she looks out for you. read more

Dinner was good. A little over priced but we had a great time with our friends which made it more worth the money. This use to be one of the better local places eat. However the last time we went with a small group of 6 the service was slow. Drinks were too strong and hardly drinkable. Scallops tasted liked ammonia. When we asked about how the steak was cooked for their taco special they said well-done. When asked if they could do them medium-rare the response was no because the steak was already cooked. Not sure what's happened but the last 3 times we've been it has not been a pleasant experience. Let's start with Easter brunch. Husbands bacon was so over cooked it crumbled in your mouth and tasted like spent coal. Some girl in a poke-a-dot dress was running around with her breasts about to pop out! Didn't care to see that. Second time there, we were seated in a dirty booth. If you're going to wipe the table, make sure you wipe the seats too. Tonight, we just did some small orders (apps, sandwiches and salads). Our waitress dumped the meals off and never came back to see how it was. I ran out of dressing so we finished my salad DRY. Then she finally came back and, in baby talk with a nervous giggle, asked my husband if he wanted more water or dessert never giving me any eye contact. No problem, but understand one thing ladies, there are times when I pay for dinner. If that's what we're doing now, hiring young girls who show off there ass-ets to the customers and talk baby talk in a flirtatious manner to the males at the table, then I want no part of it. I'd like to be waited on by a grown adult who dresses appropriately, and who speaks to me in a professional manner. Menu needs to be updated. Sorry, It was great in the beginning but has since lost its appeal. read more

I didn't expect the food to be as good as it normally is--how could it be, CARRYOUT? But, it exceeded expectations! As a snooty northerner who regularly visits family in this area and is spoiled by the wealth of great places in and around Philadelphia, I have never really eaten at a restaurant in Hickory that I've truly enjoyed. So far the winner has been Vintage House, but Fourk has now taken the top spot on my list. (And to be fair, Vintage House is just a totally different type of place.) A group of us went for a family dinner and we had a really nice time. Our waitress was very friendly and patient, the decor was up-to-date, clean and welcoming, and the food was really great. One person did have to send their meal back because it was overcooked, but quickly received a replacement that was perfectly done with no issues. I thought the lobster rangoon dip was too sweet but that's just me . . . the cocktails were great (try the Grapefruit Basil--so refreshing!) as were the generously portioned desserts. I was surprised by the prices which seemed high for this area but I couldn't really complain because I cleaned my plate and that rarely happens. Everyone was really happy with their meals and I would definitely go there again. read more

This place is really (really) bad. It's pretty simple....the only thing on the menu that the entire party had, that was good, was the local wild mushroom soup. Two of us had the "seafood melange," sauteed shrimp, crab, mussels, and scallops tossed in white wine pesto sauce with sun-dried tomatoes, wilted spinach, over pasta. This is literally the worst seafood pasta dish I've ever had in my entire life and it was the second most expensive ($26) thing on the menu. It also tasted like the scallops were bad. My dad got the "rosemary and lemon chicken." It should read, "ROSEMARY and lemon chicken." It had about four times as much rosemary as it should have. Overall, there's not much on the menu that looks overly appealing. We had a 7pm reservation and were seated at 7:25pm. The service wasn't very good either. If you have two people at a table that eat four bites of their entree (seafood pasta), it should occur to you to ask if it was ok. I grew up in Hickory and realize there are limited options but save your time and money. For $150, you shouldn't leave completely disappointed. I wish Pleasers was still open. read more

Great dining restaurant in Hickory! Was looking to try something new, but didn't want anything fancy (I showed up in rain boots and jeans - thanks Joaquin). Started with the watermelon martini and buffalo bites, both were delicious, would highly recommend the bites - healthy and tasty! I got the Asian shrimp salad for my entree, shrimp were well prepared and liked the Thai flavorings. We got one of each of the desserts, they have rotating options from local chefs/bakeries which I thought was really cool. Will definitely stop here again my next time through!
