He was incredibly knowledgeable about all fishy things, boating life and also Charleston in general. I learned a lot! Amazing boat and topnotch fishing gear. Got to reel in about 4 fish? In total our boat probably caught about six and a giant blue crab. Highly recommend! *No bathroom on boat. No need to bring tackle or bait. BYO food and drinks though there is bottled water on deck. The second, more solid and legible sign / plaque, gave us a history of how the park got it's name and who she was. The views from this end of the park are nice and you can see the new construction of the Children's Center and the Marina along Lockwood Blvd. Pelicans could be see diving in to the water for breakfast, so we stopped to watch that for a minute. Benches are available for sitting if you are so inclined. Overall, a nice quaint park for sitting and meditating.

You can relax and take in the peacefulness around you, watch the locals fish, or catch a few yourself. You have to park in the private parking lot of the condos just off of Lockwood, but I have never had a problem with this. There is not a lot of room for kids to run around but it is a cool spot to share with bigger kids who are interested in fishing. Overall though it is a great place, especially if you just need to take a minute or two for yourself.

What a beautiful (dangerous) place to hang out. Breach Inlet separates the island of Sullivan's…read moreIsland and Isle of Palm passable by bridge. Each side of the Inlet has it's own personality. On the Sullivan's Island side there is a parking lot with a few historical markers telling visitors the story that Breach Inlet played in the American Revolution; in 1776 that the British could not ford the inlet and take Sullivan's Island on foot, many drowning trying to cross the inlet from what is now IOP to Sullivan's Island. On the IOP side there is a footpath through the brush to get to the inlet and from there you can head left to get the beach at Isle of Palm. Both sides have small parking lots and small beaches that you can fish off of. Swimming the Inlet is illegal, because it is so dangerous and I've witness currents take skiers flying off; only to be saved by life jackets they were wearing. Many people have drowned in this water. But it is a great place to come fish, wade (not swim) in the water, or just hang out on a nice day.

The parking sign about parking patrons can be confusing, but just ignore it. Anyone can park there for free, and we had no problems staying for more than two hours. You also have access to the docks, although the one where the boats are kept has a lock combo, so if the gate is not already open, then you cannot access that particularly one unfortunately.

Geoff is very patient and really helped us get the hang of things We caught some red fish and trout and some small shark (which were a ton of fun to catch). Capt. Geoff was happy to help out with our casting and offered tips when we were fighting the bigger fish. His boat and the gear he provides are excellent. Very high quality stuff. Highly recommend booking a charter especially if you would like to see a new side to the lowcountry. His rates are very competitive. I would absolutely use Geoff for another charter (and probably will when I go back to Charleston in January).

There are softball fields, a kids play grounds, plenty of hiking trails and a beautiful large lake and dock. We spent a few hours hiking the trails. They are well maintained and the views are breath taking. The lake is large and beautiful and looks to house several species of fish. There is a board walk and two floating docks on each side for shore fishing. We plan to come back with our kayaks for a day of fishing. There are picnic tables and a few BBQ grills. Perhaps a picnic lunch and then kayaking. The park is dog friendly with a leash. Lots of people walking and enjoying the quiet scenery and fall weather. You won't want to pass up West Ashley Park.
