When he came by and quoted the job, I felt reassured that I was making a good decision. But after signing his estimate, Alain never showed up. It was during COVID and an odd time so I let it go and reached back out to him the next summer. Alain came by again and updated his quote - increasing the price by ~50%. Again, it was COVID and labor and supplies were expensive. No problem, let's get it done. He dodged me for the summer as he was overloaded and it never got done. Again, because of his reviews and demeanor, I decided to give him one last shot: he quoted the deck twice... I've already run around - twice - getting the samples he recommended... all he needs to do is show up and knock it out. So, Alain comes by for a third time to refresh his memory of the project, we pick dates, and we're good to go. I go and get more samples and write to let him to let him know we're good kick off the project. Everyone knows where this is going now. Third summer, third time he bails. Yes, shame on me for sticking with him. But shame on Alain for waisting a bunch of my time 3 summers and counting.

I encountered issues with Northside Remodeling during a basement renovation. I learned they had…read morehandled the permit application for our renovation without our knowledge or approval. They named themselves as the contractor on our permit without us contracting with them. After reaching out to the county for a copy of the application, I discovered that details were added to our form after my signature, without any notification to me. Not only was I surprised to see Northside Remodeling and Willie Middleton's name on the permit & application, I was extremely surprised to find my signature on a document I didn't fill out. This unexpected change left me feeling very uneasy, questioning the level of honesty with this business. The basement project itself was rife with issues - rough-in plumbing done incorrectly, window egress not installed to code, framing not complete or installed correctly. In Georgia, the licensed contractor on the permit is accountable and responsible for the work to be done to code. We have since had to hire a new contractor and pay additional money to fix these errors. It wasn't the smooth experience I hoped for, and I personally would want to find a company that emphasizes clear and upfront communication.
