We had to deal with several issues that were the direct result of his crews work. The latest issue got to me: his crew moved a vent in master bathroom. They never patched the roof! We now have mold!

The guys were very hard working and accommodating to our family. Jim and I talked a couple times a day so I was aware of what the plan was for that day. They…read morewere kind enough to show up promptly to our home for an estimate, but told us it would take a week to receive it. Two weeks later, I had to follow up with Robert Philbeck, who then sent us an outrageous $8K quote. The scope of work was extremely simple: patch up some drywall and reset a cabinet. For comparison, multiple other contractors reviewed the same scope and estimated less than $2K for everything. What made the experience even more frustrating was the two-week delay, wasting valuable time only to receive an unreasonable proposal. Maybe they're better suited for larger commercial projects, but based on our experience, I wouldn't recommend them for residential work.

There was a communication issue mid-project that caused some confusion around budgeting, which made it hard for me to move forward confidently. Once escalated to Robert, his team helped clarify things and gave me a number I knew was correct. I believe if I had gone to Robert sooner, we would have finished the project by now and this would be a 5-star review. I'm confident that TSMG does not have this issue often, but it did happen to me, and once they realized that, they offered a gift card for my frustration. While I appreciated the gesture, at that moment I felt that it was not a reflection of the inconvenience I had experienced. In the end, they were helpful in closing out the project and processing a refund for the noncompleted work.

They do great work at an affordable price (though, unfortunately, not one that leaves ME much room for profit). But, once the time for the project has been set to begin, most projects seem to get done faster than other installers can set up their equipment. Randy makes it easy for me to have him take care of the pick up and delivery of the product as well. His new designer/estimator Lauren has also been a huge help in getting these projects rolling as well. Glad I found these guys. Thanks!

I encountered issues with Northside Remodeling during a basement renovation. I learned they had…read morehandled the permit application for our renovation without our knowledge or approval. They named themselves as the contractor on our permit without us contracting with them. After reaching out to the county for a copy of the application, I discovered that details were added to our form after my signature, without any notification to me. Not only was I surprised to see Northside Remodeling and Willie Middleton's name on the permit & application, I was extremely surprised to find my signature on a document I didn't fill out. This unexpected change left me feeling very uneasy, questioning the level of honesty with this business. The basement project itself was rife with issues - rough-in plumbing done incorrectly, window egress not installed to code, framing not complete or installed correctly. In Georgia, the licensed contractor on the permit is accountable and responsible for the work to be done to code. We have since had to hire a new contractor and pay additional money to fix these errors. It wasn't the smooth experience I hoped for, and I personally would want to find a company that emphasizes clear and upfront communication.

Mike Bussie and Bussie Contracting Services damaged my HVAC lineset during a remodel at my home,…read moreresulting in $5,300 in out-of-pocket costs. Despite clear and indisputable evidence that his actions caused all of the damage I claim, Mike refuses to take any responsibility. He makes claims, but has zero evidence to support these claims. Even more concerning, Bussie Contracting Services is an illegally operating business that is NOT licensed as a residential contractor in the State of Georgia, which is a clear violation of O.C.G.A. § 43-41-2 and § 43-41-17, which require a valid PLB-issued license for residential projects exceeding $2,500. My project was well over that amount. As a result, I am currently preparing to file a formal complaint with the Georgia Professional Licensing Board, which has the authority to: * Investigate and take legal action against unlicensed contractors, * Impose civil penalties up to $5,000 per violation, and * Shut down unlicensed construction businesses and prohibit them from operating in Georgia. If you're considering hiring this company, verify their licensing status carefully. I strongly advise others not to make the same mistake I did.

I cannot say enough positive things about Bussie Contracting! If I could give 10 STARS I would,…read morebecause Mike and his team deserve it. I had three contractors bid a basement remodel. Two informed me that "no" I could not have a drywall ceiling, that I was stuck with a drop ceiling; "no" we can not put a pocket door in this wall; "no" we can't remove a wall. And then there was Mike! I knew from our first telephone conversation that he was the one! I was right! I have a beautiful tray ceiling of drywall, I have a perfect pocket door and there is no more divider wall. Mike spent 1 1/2 hours with me in my basement during the bid process. He is one of the nicest men I have met. He is kind and thoughtful. He listens and then translates builder language into words that I could understand. Mike was so thorough! He noticed a wall that had been built incorrectly and suggested he rebuild it correctly. This will allow me to mount a TV on that wall! He took the time to remove several of the existing drop ceiling tiles and really looked to see what was happening above the tiles and said "yes" we can do a drywall ceiling. Mike suggested other little things like where I planned to mount the TV and he installed the outlet high on the wall to avoid the TV cord being seen. He suggested moving a wall out into the room 20 inches so that the future bathroom would be bigger. I never realized how small that bathroom would be, but Mike did, and his idea was perfect. There were also so many extras that Mike just took care of for me that saved me time and money. I really appreciate his kindness! I am blown away by my new basement. It used to be dark and dreary, and I never used that room. Now it is my favorite room in the house. Bussie started the day they said they would start and finished one day earlier than expected and even came in UNDER the original budget. You will not meet a nicer man and he will do what he says he will do and even go the extra mile to make the customer happy! I can't wait to have Bussie Contracting back to my house for a porch rebuild, kitchen and bathroom remodel as soon as possible!
