I encountered issues with Northside Remodeling during a basement renovation. I learned they had handled the permit application for our renovation without our knowledge or approval. They named themselves as the contractor on our permit without us contracting with them. After reaching out to the county for a copy of the application, I discovered that details were added to our form after my signature, without any notification to me. Not only was I surprised to see Northside Remodeling and Willie Middleton's name on the permit & application, I was extremely surprised to find my signature on a document I didn't fill out. This unexpected change left me feeling very uneasy, questioning the level of honesty with this business. The basement project itself was rife with issues - rough-in plumbing done incorrectly, window egress not installed to code, framing not complete or installed correctly. In Georgia, the licensed contractor on the permit is accountable and responsible for the work to be done to code. We have since had to hire a new contractor and pay additional money to fix these errors. It wasn't the smooth experience I hoped for, and I personally would want to find a company that emphasizes clear and upfront communication. read more

I have used Willie and his team on several projects during my renovation. Most notably replacing my sliding glass doors, installing a new window, and tiling my fireplace. He kept me well informed throughout the process and always quickly responded to my questions and request. The men he works with are all very respectful, clean as they worked, and positive. We used Northside Remodeling in preparation for a move to do upgrades in the kitchen and re-do the floors throughout the house. This was my first time using any sort of contractor, and Alan and Willie made the process very smooth. They were great communicators, keeping me in the loop every step of the way. We recently decided to sell our 90 year old Intown house, and had to prepare it for sale in a short period of time to beat the summer lull. The house needed renovation, particularly the kitchen and main bath, after being rented for 10 years. It seemed impossible to accomplish in a short period of time, but Willie enthusiastically took on the job. As promised, the house was painted, the front porch given a makeover, the kitchen and bathroom were completely upgraded, and the main level floors were all buffed, all within 3.5 weeks. He was the first contractor we ever met who was able to do everything on time. The house went on the market by the planned date and impressed everyone who came to see it.
