Love- Love!!

Eric helped with the design and was extremely helpful! We started out asking for ledger and changed our minds during the process on fireplace brands and finish we wanted. We could not have expected more. The crew that came out to our home was extremely respectful and pleasant. Joe was our crew leader/supervisor and was just great! We went with a MantleMount for the TV which required some extra work and the crew installed the built in mount perfectly! (MM750). We finally went with large tile and Eric helped us with the grout color and other finishes and it looks beautiful! The surrounding metal strip and the screen were damaged/missing from supplier and they are taking care of all the warranty requests and will come add the missing and damaged pieces as soon as they arrive. The fireplace we selected is an Astria - My husband Dan and I highly recommend this company.

After: gas burning, centered on wall, with AV install as well.

The short: Four Day Fireplace was incredible from start to finish, they're the only one-stop shop in Seattle that could demo my wood-burning fireplace, and build a new unit for a gas-burning fireplace. The long: As this was going to be an expensive project that overhauled our family room, I wanted to make sure it was done right. I contacted an over-the-top amount of companies for this job. Of the 14(!!!) I connected with, only Four-Day Fireplace, Sutter Hearth, and All-American Chimney could do what I needed. Sutter required me to contract out the demo and construction work, and in the end the total cost was negligible compared to Four-Day, plus they estimated it would take 3-4 weeks. All-American Chimney quoted me at 1/3 the price and said they could do it in 2 days, which seemed too good to be true. They also cleaned my chimney and ripped me off for that. But there were too many red flags to ignore with them. Four Day's price was competitive and their timeline was short but realistic. Four-Day was incredibly thorough and responsive the entire process from consultation through install. Eric, their project manager, reached out via his cell consistently to make sure the entire project was done right. Plus his team overly nice the entire time they were in our house, and Jeremiah handled all, was often a step-ahead on all my OCD detailed asks. All in all we love our new fireplace, and I'll let the before and after pics do the rest of the talking.

Eric, Jeremiah, Austin and the entire Four Day Fireplace team were a joy to work with.  We had two fireplaces replaced along with one buildout.  They are communicative and transparent, which made navigating the long and challenging project as smooth as it could be.  Given COVID and the parts shortage, the project resulted in a significantly longer project time.  During the project, some concerns were raised and instead of rushing the job or masking the problems they found, they made sure we were fully aware and were given the options on how to proceed.  While this added additional time to the project, we really appreciated their focus and attention to quality over rushing things.  They kept in touch throughout, ensured things were the way they should be, and aided us along the entire way.  Very happy with the results; it changed the entire feel of both rooms!

Wall fall in and paint peeling off in the back.

Four Day Fireplace should be renamed to Four Month Fireplace. From the very beginning there was one problem after the next. We purchased 2 gas insert fireplaces $2500 each. It took 3 months to be completed and installed. Here is what $5K gets you: The walls inside keep falling, roof falls inside of fireplace, the supply gas valve failed right at the 1 year mark. (1 year warranty, conveniently.) And at year 2 the paint off! The workers are nice, but this product is a reflection of the company.. and this is truly unacceptable for the amount of money spent. Im very disappointed with Four Day Fireplace. I would never recommend them. Ever.

He came out to discuss our project in person, take measurements, and really listened to my design vision. The project started on time and was completed earlier than expected. The work team (Craig, Steve and Bill) were all pros. We can highly recommend Monroe Fireplace & Stove!

DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR MONEY UNTIL YOUR JOB IS FINISHED *AND* CORRECTLY INSTALLED…read more I deeply regret hiring this fly-by-night operation. Monroe's management/customer relations team has been nothing but disorganized, unresponsive, and full of excuses when it comes to resolving their own procurement and operations problems. Essentially, we've been trying to get them to finish the job that we paid them for in January--almost 4 months ago!! We hired Monroe to replace a wood-burning fireplace with a gas fireplace, including demo, installing new slate tile trim and hearth and a new mantel. The main work was done in January, and I have nothing but good to say about the subs who actually did this work. They were efficient, professional, worked fine around our pets, and we're happy with the new fireplace. HOWEVER, the mantel that we ordered from Monroe was not right, not even close to expected, so we told the subs not to install it. Monroe agreed to order a replacement, and they demanded that we pay the rest of the invoice in good faith. In the months since, we've contacted Monroe countless times via email and phone, and each time, we have to reintroduce ourselves and re-explain the problem. Each time, Monroe tells us that the mantel is on its way, or it's backordered, or it's in the facility but they haven't scheduled the install yet, or whatever. Damon is always busy/out of the office/will call us back, despite countless messages left on his line. Monroe Fireplace is still blowing us off as I write this.

Leveled Up Chimney Services

I hired Darrell to inspect my two chimneys and install two chimney caps. Of the several quotes I…read morereceived his was the best and most honest. His knowledge of everything about masonry was on point and generous. My quest to cap my chimneys started this past spring when an adult Swift bird got into the gas fire box because the flue had fully opened up during a recent wind storm. Fortunately the pilot light for the gas log set was not lit and we were able to let the bird into the house, capture it into a garbage bag and release it unharmed outside. A few weeks later we were startled to hear the chirping of baby swifts in the same chimney when mom or dad dove down the chimney to bring them food at the tiny nest they built just above the flue opening. We had to endure the loud chirping ~ every 7 minutes for two months as the chicks grew and finally flew away. Darrel did a great job finding the right caps of different sizes, chipping some cement away from the one chimney liner to expose enough of the liner to attach the cap and even painted the chimney crown with some grey Flex Seal I had on hand to seal it until we replace it and the other two crowns when we sell our 35 year old home in the next year or two. Darrel did not want to charge me for the extra paint step but I compensated him anyway because he is an honest, knowledgeable businessman working to build his new business. I highly recommend Leveled Up.

Darrell contacted me after I submitted a project scope on BBB website…read more He offered prompt and free onsite evaluation and was very informative about the repair process, made his own recommendations without trying to tack on anything unnecessary. He was flexible and accommodating with the scheduling. Price negations were also very professional and I feel like I god a great value for the work he has performed. The project was to prep a fireplace for installation of wood burning insert stove and involved grinding out of external face cracked mortar between bricks causing internal fireplace leakage. Darell comped pickup and delivery of the fireplace insert and installation from the total cost of the project. As he was performing the job he recognized that the upper condition of the mortar was in a better state, and did not need repairs, so he refrained from fixing what wasn't broken and lowered the cost of the job. Later on when called about some follow up questions he was very accommodating and provided plenty of his time to consult on operation and maintenance of an insert fireplace. He earned my trust to confidently reach out to him for any further fireplace upkeep questions.

I signed up for the annual maintenance plan to save money. He made good recommendations based on my needs and concerns of my allergies. Kudos to the office staff, Brittny, Erin and everyone who took my calls while I was eagerly waiting for parts & repair. They treated me very kindly and proactively communicated each step of the way. I had to call them five times before they finally sent someone. Turns out the salesman hadn't secured the door properly, so the safety switch never engaged -- a super easy fix. I don't blame the salesman for the mistake, but the company doesn't stand behind their work at all. I'd never use them again and wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
