I had a flat tire last Saturday and had no-one to help switch out my tire, I was able to put enough pressure in the tire to take a 3 minute drive to the Fountain Tire on St Albert Trail. As soon as I entered the store, I could tell that the shop was extremely busy, I asked if there was any possibility that someone could help switch out my spare tire due to a flat. The lady at the front desk mentioned that they were overbooked due to a member staff leaving that day, as I made a call, the owner Michael asked for myself to show him my car. We went outside and he asked myself to back up the car to Bay3, within 30 minutes the team was able to identify the issue with my flat tire and fixed it. I would recommend Michael and his team to anyone looking for any vehicle fixes, the customer service was outstanding and the help when I was in need definitely did not go unnoticed. New Owners & New Prices My family and I have been buying all season tires & winter tires and rims hear at St Albert Fountain tire for 15+ years, our 2 girls and my wife also have winter tires & rims for there SUV. I was in recently to get my daughters winter tires switched over To my surprise I was charged $71.00 to have them changed over , I was shocked We have new owners and this is the new policy ‼ Part of why we bought tires & rims at fountain tire was the swapped out the tires on rims for free... Now it would cost me $284.00 at the start of winter and $284.00 in spring time to have this done. We will Not be going back to fountain tire Very disappointing.... read more

I called in the morning to see if they could get my daughter's vehicle in for a much needed tire change. Albert who I spoke to was very accommodating and pleasant to deal with. He got her in that afternoon, even went as far as telling her to specifically ask for him. On arrival he got her car in right away and tires all changed out for an even better price than he quoted me on the phone. The mechanic also took the time to explain the worked needed on shocks but didn't force her or intimidate her (as some shops do). They even offered to call me about it. I called in at 10 am to ask if they had space to re-repair a tire they had repaired a couple of weeks ago. Was told to bring it in right away and they would get me in. 2 hours later, still sitting and waiting to get in. If it wasn't them needing to fix their own repair, I would leave and not come back i also asked about winter tires and the counter person was not very good at explaining options to me. Repairing cars is a tough business. No-one is ever happy to get repairs done and often people wait too long to do simple preventive maintenance. Its tough for these businesses to get consistent reviews. Enter Fountain Tire in St Albert. Never have I experienced folks with such a good balance of calling out what could be done, should be done, and must be done to our cars. Whenever we visit we always leave fully understanding where our car is at. Useful as we often drive out of town in the winter so surprises would not be welcome. And we can plan repairs over time to suit our budget. All work has always been completed on time and as quoted with no surprises. If extra work is needed they always call first and stick to their quote. Mechanical services are high end, no need ever to go to an OEM these guys do it better and faster. Tire services are simply the best, they even store our other wheels and tires during the off season. If I had a complaint it would be that they are so busy. Takes a few days to get in, especially in spring and fall. Joked with the owner once, suggested that he could still do well if he increased his prices and lost the frenzy to get in. He said yes I could, but my customers cant afford it so I wont do that. Kind of says it all about this place. Customer for 20 satisfied years and six vehicles! read more

These guys were here to help when I got a nail in my tire, requiring a patch. They did a good job, but they of course tried to sell me some tires, which I do not need at this time. I was surprised that it took an hour to repair my tire, but in the situation, I was just happy that it could be done. They also charged $45.00 to patch the tire, where I know some other tire shops will patch for free, in hopes of return business. If I was in a bind I would go again, if I wasn't I would shop around. read more

Great place to get tires. They get the work done when they say that they will. Always pay the quoted price. Came in because I had a flat. Despite not being able to find my tire purchase in their system, they didn't charge me for the fix because of my history with the store. Waiting area has stuff for the kids, TV, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. Very friendly staff at the counter. read more

What a shame. I used to tell everyone to go here and I was advised to do the same. Never again. The kid at the counter is a crook and tries to get you to do work that isn't needed. My power steering line failed and no I didn't need new transmission cooler lines as you so insisted. I took it elsewhere because of that and I won't be back as a result. Not sure if Todd is the owner anymore but he needs to look at his service writers. He's got a problem there for sure. Sadly I do NOT recommend. read more

If getting ripped off is one of life's pleasures, this is the place to be. If it is not, then I suggest you seek another shop for your mechanical services. This is my story -- a vehicle of mine required a new power steering pump, so to Fountain Tire I go! Well the fellow quotes me 1 hour shop time plus parts. No problem. He quotes me a NEW pump at $400 but says he could source out a used one for cheaper. I elect for the used pump... A day later I come to retrieve my vehicle and am graced by an $800 service bill. Hmm...something's not adding up. $400 + $100 (labor) should be $500 plus tax and other shop fees. Lo an behold I am quoted a part replacement cost of $600 for USED. I thought used would have been cheaper. Boy was I wrong! Evidently that USED part had been bathed in liquid gold and kissed by the Dalai Lama hence the premium. So I express my concerns, and the service tech plays dumb and says he'll check with the "manager" aka "come back in a few hours when I have time to come up with a better story". An hour later I come back. The total bill remains unchanged but the part cost has in fact decreased but labor costs increased. I guess I was charged for that hour of "story telling". Moral of the story: do your homework before getting mechanical work done AND don't go to Fountain Tire in St. Albert. read more

Replaced a flat winter tire damaged beyond repair with a new (matching) tire, and also 'straightened' the rim which was slightly bent from running with the flat tire. Excellent service, 'no charge' for the rim straightening (which saved $$ over unnecessarily replacing the rim) plus a reasonable 'sale discount' on the replacement tire. Very impressed with their excellent, honest service, knowledgeable staff. St. Albert Fountain Tire will be getting our business from this day forward! read more

I had taken my car to this garage exclusively for several years and have been a loyal customer. This time I brought it in and they said I needed, among other things, my brakes done, which surprised me because I had full service with new calipers and rotors done 2 years ago (to the day) and I only put about 10,000k a year on my vehicle. So either they do shoddy work, use defective parts, or weren't being honest with me. It's a shame because I enjoyed dealing with them but they were obviously trying to take advantage of me. There are a half dozen other service centers within a half mile radius so I'll use one of them from now on. read more

Got a set of tires here. They do the work when they say and for the price they say AFTER you remind them of the quote they gave over the phone. And unless you enjoy spending an hour scrubbing scuffs off the rim of your wheels and have unbalanced tires (even after going back to them for a second attempt at it) I highly recommend going elsewhere. OEM confirmed and fixed the imbalance, and vehicle is smooth again. I've had bad service here before but got in a crunch for tires and thought after 15 years they may have improved. They will rip you off! Quoted me almost $2000 in work. When I phoned to say I would not be getting the work done there, they tried to tell me that they should not "let me car on the road!" I went for a second opinion and ACTUALLY only needed $800 of work. Talk about a HUGE difference!! Not cool. read more

They screwed me over. Got one new Hankook all-season tire in winter for $250. Waited sooo long for them to go get one. The next morning that wheel had jammed. The tire got dragged around making a screeching sound and smelling of burning rubber. Needed to replace the tire again, for which I was charged full price less $20 for their preferred brand, Goodyear. They probably weren't diligent in their job to ensure nothing would jam or stick especially considering it was well below -10°C. That tire has incidentally been the one with the flats, and worse, slow leaks, which they fix for free if you buy their preferred brand. So, $500 for one tire and a lot of pain. read more

A couple weeks ago we had our Jeep booked in for all new 4 tires & brakes to replace. We couldn't believe when we took a good look and check to our tires we found it hard to believe but the tires weren't replaced and paid for everything done. It bothered us over our weekend wishing we could go into see someone on Sunday but closed. Had to wait until Monday morning to give them a call to explain. All we got from FountainTire was when you come in for more then one service sometimes depending on how busy we are something can get dismissed - sorry. Really, I thought how pathetic where's the Customer Service - Customer Care - to make us feel appreciated for our business. Had an Out of Province Inspection performed on an older car I brought in from California. Very thorough job expertly done by "Pete". He noticed that the rear brake shoes were improperly installed and quickly corrected that. I was in and out promptly. Recommended for anyone requiring an older vehicle or specialty car inspection. read more

Great staff and great service. I've been going there for years so I'm not basing this on one time. There have been minor issues for sure, like when a mechanic left a wrench under my hood, but overall they have been friendly, on time and know their business. Sometimes when you bring a vehicle in for service at any garage the mechanic suggests more work is needed than you expected. It's up to you to decide if you want to do the work or not. I've never had an issue with their work or professionalism and will continue to support this location for years to come. Good job, boys! read more
