My experience was horrible when I walked in the door. I asked if I could get a basic old school pedicure. I did not want to buy all of the foot soaks hot waxes. I just wanted my feet scrubbed really good. When I left out, I still a lot of dead skin on my feet and even after complaining Sofia said that it was the best that could be done. Forum Nails is an eight month old/young nail salon in Pittsburg/Antioch. They're located near the mall, in the same plaza as double dragon chinese restaurant. I learned of this nail salon via word of mouth. My cousin and aunt boasted about the clean environment and quality service. I made a 5 o'clock appointment for a friend and myself. I was a little late, I arrived by 5:07 pm. The salon was quite busy, so I was patient and waited. I did tell David (the nail tech by the door) that I had an appointment. Over 20 minutes went by and no one had checked in with me. My friend arrived late, but it didn't matter because our appointment was not being honored and we were having to wait anyway. At 5:45ish ~ we were finally being helped. I needed to have my gel removed and redone but based off the service I was receiving, I opted to simply remove the gel. This service is $10 and they don't even clean up your nails. Another major problem we encountered was communication. Hardly anyone here spoke fluent English, making it extremely difficult to get the correct service! My friend requested to have her gel removed from her feet. She wanted a color change with gel polish. The girl who did her pedicure didn't understand English and her colleagues failed to translate. My friend almost overpaid, then as we went to leave her nail polish was smudged! Leading her to inquire about what polish was actually on her toes. After solving this confusing mystery, we had to wait an additional fifteen minutes for them to DO IT RIGHT the second time. As for my pedicure, my nail was smudged in second. The colored nails they have you choose from do not match the actual color they bring over. It's utter madness. I arrived at this salon at 5:07 and didn't leave until 7pm. I missed the Warriors game, because despite there being multiple televisions at this salon no one knows how to change the channel! I'm so upset that I had my friend waste her time and have such a negative experience. I spent $25 for a pedicure that was not relaxing, timely, and the nail polish wasn't even what I wanted. Then I paid $10 to remove gel, only to come home and cut, file, and finish the job myself. It's so hard to find quality nail service in Antioch or Pittsburg. Leaving me with no choice but to invest in small business in Walnut Creek and Danville. I am truly disappointed with my visit to Forum nails. I won't be back and I would NOT recommend them. read more

Besides being very professional, personable & extremely following the request for specific colors & design, Van will fit you into her schedule at what is convenient for you, not herself. Prime example was today, I caught her on her way out of work with an appointment in Oakland she had about her new car, she said "I will re-schedule, please come in & I will wait for you" Her mannerism as well as her artistic ways are very noteworthy. Van does the Gel nails & any kind of design you show her, Van can do it. In need of a mani/pedi and not wanting to go to my usual spot (never consistently good), I called Forum about an hour and a half before closing to see if they could get me in for a quick mani/pedi. The person on the phone told me to come at 7 PM. Wait, you want me to come at closing time?! YES, they were "busy and understaffed" and actually stayed late for me, AND did not rush my mani/pedi at all. I'm disappointed too write this review bc I've been a loyal customer since they opened however, I have a few complaints. First, I asked for a gel manicure with my own nails and all Sophia (THE OWNER) did was cut & file my nails and then painted them, she didn't even both to cut my cuticles or give me a clean look. Along that, the gel polish was so clumpy and just really ugly sadly. Literally zero finesse. Then I got a pedicure a few days later, the lady literally hurt my big toe and then my big toe touched the inside of the gel dryer and the polish got messed up, & all she did was just paint over it....? Sorry but I'm confused. My pedicure didn't even last me one week and I was on vacation. The polish was ruined. Lowkey they are also super rude. This is my happy getaway from the day-to-day grind! I love coming here for my mani/pedis. They always do an amazing job here and are so friendly! They welcome you when you enter and wish you a good day/night when you leave. But what I find very unique is time after time, even if it's close to closing time and if they are still doing your nails, they don't rush at all! They make sure you leave satisfied. I've had the acrylic nails before and they did an awesome job but now I only get gel polish on my real nails. Everyone here is super good but I love how Nhi leaves my nails. She takes her time with the shape you want and asks if you like it to make sure. I don't believe she does pedicures (she's never done mine at least) but my manicures are always on point thanks to her! I love the way my nails came out I definitely will be returning. I got a gel manicure and it cost me $30. I had never heard of the place before but I found it thanks to yelp. My husband and I went to get a mani/pedi and we were given a price sheet. Mind you, my husband pays very close attention to detail. We both decided to get the deluxe treatment which is above the basic. They did not exfoliate our legs or do the stone massage. When we inquired about the missing treatments they took the menu from us and started to talk in their language. Pros: clean and sanitary pedicure stations. hot stone and exfoliating scrub included with basic pedicure ($25). Nice, friendly service. Good polish application. Cons: None of the usual nail color brands (ie Opi, Essie, Zoya), but they have a large selection to choose from. Pick your color from their nail swatches. So I came in today for a Gel Mani and everything was going fine until he was shaping my nail I want an Almond Shape and some nails do look almond shaped but he filed them too short and not all nails are shaped the same, the color on my nails is amazing but there is a lot of air bubbles in the nail polish. I did not tip him because I was not completely satisfied, I will come again but I do not tip if I am not satisfied, tips are not mandatory and there was a customer there that looked at me like I was crazy for not leaving a tip lol.
