I asked for fine cut pork fried rice and got chicken
Miguel M.

Moved to the area and this place has decent reviews and is close to my house.. the food lacked flavor.. the fried rice looks better than it taste. Almost tastes like white rice. The Mongolian beef is nothing like it is in other restaurants. It has carrots.. the food let me down. AND it is almost $20 for the plate! I also asked for pork fried rice and got chicken. This place is a hugggeeee let down. Easily some of the worst quality and bang for your buck Chinese restaurant I've ever been to.

Chicken chop suey lunch special with order of crab Rangoon
Dani M.

I've ordered several times from this establishment and wanted to take a moment to share my experience. For delivery I ordered the chicken chop suey lunch special with choice of vegetable fried rice and veggie egg roll. I added a side of crab rangoon. My food was delivered piping hot, fresh and delicious. I'm not a big eater so I'll have lunch for 3 days. The fried rice was loaded with fresh veggies. Beautiful presentation and packed to the top !! I added the sweet sauce packet and a little soy sauce for more flavor. Same with the chicken chop suey which had huge chunks of chicken breast meat in it. The crab rangoon was savory and had plenty of crispy crunch to the bite and generous tasty filling. Egg roll was equally delish. I often purchase a small hot and sour soup and add a few spoonfuls to my food for an extra zing of flavor. Get ready to clear your sinuses with that soup. A wonderful soup which says a lot as I don't care for spicy food. Give this place a try and hope that you get Omarr as your DoorDash driver. Friendly and fast delivery considering how busy they are.

a plate of food on a table

Many locals recommended this place after the sudden closing of our regular spot of 20+ years so we gave it a try. No thank you. I placed the order online and was given a pick up time of about 25 minutes. When I went in to pick up my order, the whole place was very dark and it was super cold in there (like was the heat even on kind of cold). I was informed by a very polite man at the counter that there was a delay in the orders due to staffing issues. After another 30 minutes sitting in their lobby with several other annoyed customers, my order was finally ready. We decided to try our usual entrees and a couple of apps ($67 total). Both the Hong Sui and lobster sauce were soooo dark & that should've been our first clue that this was going to be an issue. Holy soy sauce Batman! The beef satay was an order of 4 skewers, cold, gristle, salty. The chicken wings were plain fried chicken - not bad but nothing notable. The shrimp and lobster sauce was full of a ton of shrimp and meat which was nice, but the amount of salt/soy made it difficult to eat. The Hong Sui chicken had large, beautiful chunks of breaded and fried chicken breast and fresh vegetables so I was excited but again the amount of sodium made it impossible to enjoy. After one piece of chicken, I was done. The shining star was the order of stir-fried green beans, which again were doused in soy sauce but a little more balanced due to the addition of some white rice. Overall, it was a miss for my family and I will not be returning. Inaccurate order times, cold food, salt bomb.

Chicken lo mein
Rebecca G.

Shrimp fried rice is made with mini mini mini shrimp. The flavor and temp of the food was ok. Chicken lo mien was ok with very few vegetables and pieces of chicken. I called my order in and the service was good. The dining room is closed so it reflects that. Dark but clean!

Peking Duck
Amanda B.

I ordered the Peking Duck 1 day ahead (as required). This was the best duck I have had! The skin was super crispy and the fuck was juicy. The sauce it came with was perfect. It also came with perfectly soft buns that you can add duck, onions and sauce to. It was presented beautifully and served fresh.

2 hour wait for a carry out. Misplaced ticket due to the fact that children operate the register. Would not recommend to anybody.

Ask the Community - Fortune House

Is Fortunate House Restaurant closing ? On Saturday when my dad was trying to order food no one would answer the phone. I love this place and it's our only Chinese restaurant we go to.

Sorry we missed his call. Due to the Covid19 our hours have changed maybe he called when we were closed. Thank for your concern.

It serves standard American Chinese food--as basic as it gets--and while the Chinese dishes are okay (not great, but not terrible), I would strongly recommend avoiding the Thai options. We tried them and they were really not good. If you're looking for a quick, no-frills Chinese meal to take home, it's a decent enough spot, but definitely skip the Thai menu entirely.

This was my 2nd time actually dining here - but thought I needed to review. Upon ordering, it said my order would be ready in 20-30 minutes. I got there in about 30 minutes. I did have to wait a bit as there appeared to be one person working and she had a table she was also serving at the same time. I ordered the Basil Chicken w/brown rice & Kung Pao Pork w/white rice. I also ordered the Edamame. The one Basil Chicken order was a dinner and included an egg roll and salad. The Edamame was fine. Not super HOT, but I also waited a bit and it took me about 12 min to drive home. But they were just fine. The Kung Pao Pork was not as spicy as I thought it would be. But there were TONS of vegetables in it. The taste wasn't super powerful, so it was just okay. The Basil Chicken was good and also contained a ton of vegetables, which I liked. Peppers, corn, zucchini, onions, string peas and mushrooms. I may have missed a veggie, but there are quite a few varieties. The Chicken was good...again not the most powerful taste, but it was fine. The salad was warm and I couldn't eat it. I would have prepared the salad be in a separate bag so it stayed crisp and chilled, if it was supposed to be. The egg roll was mostly breading and hard to actually chew. Not my favorite. But to be honest, I'm not a fan of egg rolls. They threw some sauces in the bag, but no chop sticks so you may need to ask if you need those. The only other minor issue was the sauce was already leaking inside the bag from one of the styrofoam containers. The menu is extravagant and filled with half Chinese items and half Japanese items. I will try again and focus more on Japanese items next time.

I've dined here quite a lot this past year. 100% of my orders have been takeout or delivery. Every…read moresingle time the food has been FRESH, ON TIME, and nothing has been missing or made incorrectly from my order. This most recent time I had the Sweet and Sour Chicken, Szechuan Beef & The Peanut Butter Won Tons! The Sweet & Sour Chicken is just basic fried chicken pieces, some white rice, and the sweet & sour sauce w/pineapple, green pepper, onion & tomato. I just love the blend of tangy sauce with the fried chicken and the texture of the rice. It's comforting and tasty. You can't go wrong here. The Szechuan Beef was a bit spicy (it's labeled as such) which is what I wanted; filled with cabbage, onion, broccoli, and peppers along with tender juicy strips of beef in a tangy spicy sauce. It is also served with a side of white rice (You can sub fried rice for an additional charge). My favorite part and the item I look forward to the most here is the Peanut Butter Won Tons! They are crispy, crunchy and filled with a sweet peanut butter filling. It's like dessert. SO GOOD! You get quite a few of them (6-7) for the appetizer. I've tried noodle dishes, egg foo young, and even the BBQ Pork app...everything is great. Love this place. I have NOT dined in yet, but I enjoy takeout Chinese - I usually have food for another day after as well.
