Super cozy community coffee shop that offers a small play area with tables nearby for parents to stay close. Seasonal muffins and espresso drinks as well --menu at the counter! There's a full service bar, that I've never tried, but it always looks busy and it is pretty. Rooms are offered for renting if you have an events. I'm not sure of the details...? You can even buy some cool merch! Ball caps, beanies, and sweatshirts.Don't go by google for their hours! FTC is one of our favorite coffee shops because 1. There is ample seating even on a crowded day (inside and outside, lots of seating options too!) 2. The staff is so friendly and helpful, and 3. The shop is so family friendly, from the uplifting music playing to the little kids' playroom. I always feel so at home there. One of my favorite places! Fort Thomas coffee is my go to place to study. Their workers are always very nice and their coffee is very good. I like how they decorate the place and that there's a variety of different places to sit. However their food is a little pricey, but it is good. Also, there is a large influx of loud children at the end of the school day. And I do wish that they would have more than one men's toilet available. read more

Fort Thomas Coffee is a beautiful space with a wide selection of food and drink located on a small town, walkable street. The interior is inviting and homey, but still spacious. I went to Fort Thomas Coffee to get some work done today! I ordered the wild berry smoothie and it was delicious. I enjoyed my time there, but something to keep in mind is that this is a family friendly establishment (which is wonderful), but it can get pretty loud at times and there were kids running around the whole place for pretty much the entire time I was there. The only reason I mention this is because I read some reviews prior to going that mentioned that this place has a quiet environment, which I would definitely not agree with. Overall, I had a great time there and would likely return in the future. read more

This is a great local coffee shop. They recently moved into a new building, and the space is bright, open, and spacious. There are several areas to sit. Anything from a large table for a meeting, to a cozy nook in the corner to read a book, to tables close to the children's area (filled with books, blocks and toys). This is truly a coffee shop for everyone. They serve Deeper Roots coffee and pastries. There is also a full-service bar. In the back there is a community room that you can rent by the hour. This is difficult for me to write... overall, it's a solid place to visit - the coffee was good, the smoothie was very good (and very sweet)... the food and pastries looked phenomenal... service was speedy. Vibes are solidly Boutique Cafe. my disclaimer is that I have only been once and am not familiar with the history of Ft. Thomas. That said, it seems this coffee shop is situated in a building that has recently been maybe gentrified? I say that not because of the new construction but bc there are several signs stressing the importance of leaving when you're through with your beverage and that seats are for paying customers... which also might have something to do with being within walking distance of several schools? I don't know, I have mixed feelings about passive aggressive signage but as someone who has worked in the service industry understand the need for displaying such notices so they can be referenced when asking someone to leave... But as someone who had never been there before, and stated as such at the counter, I just felt a little... watched? Like how much time do I get to be there if I buy one drink, what about 2? If a membership for workspace is $15 a day, can I buy $20 with of stuff and leave $8 in tips and we call it even? Or can I refill the bathroom with toilet paper to earn my keep? Okay okay, aside from all the posted rules distracting me, the atmosphere is lovely - the decor is seamless and the vibes are cozy cottage-core spiked with industrial cowboy... it works! And several folks loved it too as I watched no less than 4 adults (influencers?) taking selfies against the pretty wallpaper. I was there for a while (not gonna say how long!) and I wasn't kicked out. Though, due to the holiday season it was crowded and loud for most of my time there... which was sweet to hear all the neighbors and returning-homers greeting each other and sharing their holiday plans for their family getaways to rentals and ski resorts. Despite moving to the counter to be closer to a wall outlet I wasn't asked if I needed anything else (whereas several other customers seated at the bar were) so I can't tell if I was the type they wanted to leave or if my RBF was giving serious do not disturb vibes - who knows. Overall, I feel more comfortable in places a little more... alternative? That's just me! read more

WOW! Ft. Thomas Coffee really has seen an upgrade since their recent relocation! The space is absolutely beautiful! Staff was very friendly. Space is very large. Plenty of room to catch up with friends, study, or just enjoy a nice cup of coffee. They even have a space in the back to rent as well. They have a large bar with seating and craft cocktails and wine. Make sure and stop in here next time you are in Ft. Thomas! read more

I loved that it is family friendly, but the layout would be better to have the children's play area away from the guest line to order. It was very busy and noisy the Saturday I was there. A friend told me about Fort Thomas Coffee and I'm so happy she did! We met there today and it's such a cute shop! Not only is it a coffee shop/cafe during the day but also turns into a wine/light bites bar in the evenings. What drew us there today is their super cute kids play area! It's a 10/10! She has a couple of toddlers and they absolutely had a blast while us moms ate our pastries and drank our coffee (her) and pb & banana shake with a shot of espresso (me). my friend and I needed a place to sit and study a while, and Fort Thomas was GREAT! The staff were all super kind and great. I got the green Greek smoothie, it was good and felt healthy! I will say it was very sweet, and could maybe benefit from a kick of lemon juice or pineapple, something with a bit of a tang. I liked it though. How do you mess up an iced coffee? Bad service, worst coffee shop around here. Iced coffee is $4, worker asks if I want room for cream. I reply, "Yeah I'll take some cream and sugar". He replies "Oh, there's actually cream and sugar over there". I reply "Okay", when I should have said "Oh, you don't have any back there?" I go over there and they've got cream and the Stevia in the Raw rock sugar packets. This doesn't mix into my iced coffee, it sinks to the bottom. Also the coffee tastes fruity and tangy which I hate. But that's a me problem. 0/10 worst coffee shop around here. read more

Their new location is phenomenal. They're well staffed and by some of the most helpful & happiest employees. There is a plethora of awesome seating both indoor & outdoor. The kids area is such an awesome addition to our community. Their drinks are fantastic, as always. They've added lots of food at the new location which is great, too. The hours are the BEST. It's such an enjoyable place to be, even with all the obnoxious construction still going on outside - I can't wait to see this place in all its glory once the construction crews finish up. Decent coffee shop with Deeper Roots beans so the coffee quality is good most days, depending on the barista. Always a long wait for anything but drip coffee. Food is mediocre, and I say that since the club sandwich I tried was made solely with Sysco Food Service ingredients, tasteless and no texture sandwich bread and pre-sliced lunch meat. With all the outstanding local bread bakers it still baffles me why a sandwich shop doesn't take advantage of a superior product. It would make their food really stand out. The main reason I'm giving 2 stars is due to the customer base being mostly locals and their small children. Seriously, they should change their name to FT Coffee and Day Care. Today 9 unattended children are running around crying and screaming. I get that kids do that, but with so many at once and the privileged and entitled attitude of the parents who aren't concerned about the other patrons, it makes it extremely annoying. read more

Walked in from a chilly rainy day and was treated to a cheerful welcome and incredible coffee aroma. This small gem was a warm blanket of goodness from the small number of people chatting and working on laptops to the baked goodies waiting to make someone happy. We tried amaretto lattes and they were delicious. A smooth balance with the Adorable latte art acting as a cherry on top. I do lament on not capturing an image for the review.
