I took a walk over to Kimmy's Korner to grab some paper towels and hurry home. The location is great (on main street, 1-2 blocks south from all the action of Mainstrasse). I knew that there would be a mark-up on any items purchased, given the convenience, but even with that I was a little sticker-shocked to see that a single roll of off-brand paper towels cost $3. I took it to the register and was told that they could not run my card for less than $5. Yikes....so I left spending $6 on two rolls of paper towels (where anywhere you could get 6 rolls for the same price). I understand that we pay more for convenience and that cornerstores like this have to have a higher profit margin....but this seems a bit excessive....partnered with the fact that they won't run a card for less than $5... I think next time it will be in my better interest just to hop in my car and take my business elsewhere. If you need something in a pinch, though, this place seemed to have most of the basics (Household, beer, drinks, etc.).
