I was staying at a hotel down the street and the CVS right next to it was closed so I found myself making the five minute walk down to this Kroger on a Monday night around 9pm. I'm not going to lie, I was a little intimidated by all the loiterers and security guards, but once inside I was surprised at how nice it was. I've never been to a true inner city Kroger before and damn, it's better than the one a mile down the street from my house (which is still considered inner city in Columbus). It sort of reminded me of a Market District. I was only there to grab a few snacks and drinks for my room and everything was really easy to find. While it was somewhat busy there, there were a ton of self check out kiosks so I was in and out in a jiffy. If I lived in downtown Cincy I could definitely see myself shopping here. Their deli gave me severe food poisoning. I thought I was going to die. Kroger took no responsibility, they stonewall you and ignore your email requests. They left me no choice other than the contact BBB, US Dept. Of commerce and the health department. All because their customer service did not want to help me. read more

Stopped in during lunch time and there were a lot of options. Loved seeing the salad bar make a comeback, at $8.99 a pound there were lots of yummy options available. Great pre-made salads and sandwiches, a variety of sushi types, fresh produce and a limited freezer meal section (smaller than the average Kroger). The line moved quickly, the store was well organized and clean. Definitely a good spot to grab a healthy, quick and affordable lunch to go! read more

Well! Coming back and reading review I left 5 yrs plus ago I am sad to say they now do not have such a great vegetarian selection.if hell had a grocery store this would be it. There's so much about this store that is just "off". Don't figure on seeing the same item twice don't plan on finding whatever you plan for dinner..things vanish from shelves and the robot makes me a bit homicidal it's supposed to be doing inventory..that's funnier than some SNL bits I've seen lately. It's like that Dylan line the cops don't need you and man they expect the same. It's saving grace is it is the only big store in these parts. And close.given that western hills is 55 min one way on bus and Clifton Kroger is a 45 min wait in line (ok.. maybe "only"25) and a dice with death crossing the streets I guess it's only the 2nd level of hell. Until today I would have told you that I had no interest whatsoever in the design of a grocery store. Snore. I mean *of course* they provide parking, and a way to get your food to your car. Of *course* they have predictably laid-out aisles with predictable products. Why wouldn't they? It motivates us to buy more stuff, right? And most importantly, they do not make their patrons physically uncomfortable by overwhelming their senses with uncomfortable lights or temperature or noises! Duh! Right...? Did you know that the Kroger downtown Cincinnati has karaoke nights? And that they are incredibly popular? *And* did you know that on karaoke nights at Kroger, they play the "music" so loudly that you will hear it instead of your spouse shouting at you from three feet away? Even at the far back corner of the store? It was like trying to grocery shop in a brightly lit dance club with giant throbbing woofer/speakers right next to your head. It should have been funny, but it wasn't. The hubby and I have never shopped so fast before, in spite of the fact that we had to go down every aisle because the layout of this particular store is really weird. They have very few aisles that are all very long. So we were fast, but not fast enough to avoid having stress headaches when we left. And because this is downtown, there is no parking lot, so we were parked across the way. One can't just wander into the street with Krogers' private shopping carts, so the headache continued with a slog to the car with heavy grocery bags. Downtown Cincinnati Krogers has a parking garage upstairs from their grocery store. They are supposed to stay open until 10:00. They did jot allow people to use the elevator to get to their garage at 9:58 pm stating that they close the doors at 9:55. Shame on you, Kroger! Do better! read more

Superb customer service, they noticed my table was out of napkins I didn't even have to ask. Everything taste amazing. Kroger over seas customer service are the dumbest morons on earth, they lack any customer service skills, problem solving skills, etc. I finally called their corporate office and got an American employee and solved the problem regarding their coupons they mail out. Most over seas customer service representatives if with this company or other companies need a lot of work. They don't get that the customer pays their wages. This new and bright urban concept Kroger is very different from any other Kroger you have ever visited. First off, its aesthetically appealing. Beware, it is not a full Kroger. There is no deli nor bakery... but there are self service versions of both. There are many options at the front of the store for take and make meals, as well as sushi. The produce section along with all other stock is adequate, but smaller than a full size Kroger... thus the urban concept. Everything is clean and well organized. Of course there is a Starbucks for your coffee needs. Upstairs you can find the OTR eatery if youd like to dine in or grab some take out from various restaurants. This store definitely fills a void for all those living downtown. Check the hours, as they are shorter and not 24/7. There is an attached parking garage, with elevators to fit your cart, but beware the specifics of it. Only certain floors are for Kroger. If you park on those floors, you can receive validation for a purchase over $15 at the store or eatery. This is good for up to 2hrs of parking. If you stay longer, the 3CDC garage will charge you double the listed rates, and your validation is void. A lot of the employees here don't seem to know that and had mentioned a different scenario, so be careful. read more

Super convenient grocery store in down town. The store has a very distinctive urban , industrial look. I was very happy I found Kombucha available there and the staff was able to help me with a price adjustment without any problem. Love the walkup Starbucks, the wine store, restaurants upstairs. I used the metered parking across the street without a problem. They don't have a deli or bakery but you can find these items and self serve. read more

Anyone notice that Cinti stores like Clifton, Norwood, Kendall (i.e., more 'working class 'areas) almost never have hand baskets available? A problem you won't find at Hyde Park, Montgomery, etc. This is on-going. I've communicated a few times with corporate; get some boilerplate response, "We'll look inti it, sorry for your experience." Nothing happens. Has to be deliberate, though don't know why. read more

Location, location, location. A centrally located Kroger in downtown Cincinnati was much overdue. I like that it acts a bit more like a marketplace than your average Kroger. There are a lot of great places to grab some food on the second level. Street and garage parking are also available if you need it. Pretty easy to get in and out. read more

This Kroger is one of the nicest I've been to. It looks, clean, bright, well-stocked and organized. Certainly, it has a better inventory of items than the Kroger nearest our home. Cute little signs around the bakery section. It speaks to people who don't have the time or inclination to cook more so than most. Near the produce department you'll find already prepared sushi, pizza, salad blends, dinner kits, etc. When we went to the cheese department, there were so many varieties to choose from and some items there were less than you'd find at Jungle Jim's. It's a bit of a trek for me since I don't live nearby, but when I go downtown for other reasons, I will definitely stop here. You can use your receipt to scan in the garage, so that you aren't charged anything as long as you don't stay for more than 2 or 3 hours! read more

--this store is a nice addition to downtown but not stocked well enough to do a lot of regular grocery shopping- as it seems the inventory is much much less than most of the other stores in the area. They have a pretty decent produce section though and the salad bar/grab-n-go items are on point. Their is also a Starbucks, an upstairs food court and a liquor/beer department. read more

Talk about providing something the city has been missing! Downtown Cincinnati has different mini stores residents can pick up items from and also the fabulous Findlay Market, but we did not have a full service grocery story- until now! This was such a great addition and something we really needed. I love that it's not too big, but still has everything you need from a food and toiletries standpoint. If you're looking for a store that has all of the home and shopping items, this isn't for you. Every employee has been so helpful too. I even lost my car keys in there and they helped me find them. Now the 2nd floor food hall. O.M.G! In love! This is perfect for groups that eat together but can't decide on one cohesive place to fit everyone's palette. There is such a variety and something for everyone. And it also has a bar and patio. I've been multiple times and have tried almost all of the food options. They're all so so good! Kroger really upped the grocery game with this store, what a great addition for those who live, work and are visiting the downtown area. There are two levels. The first level housing typical grocery items and also a Starbucks . The grocery area features a nice selection of ready-made food and also traditional grocery items. Was excited to find that they carry 16 bricks bread and a selection of Marx bagels!!! The upstairs has an urban-inspired food court with both indoor and outdoor seating. There are several local restaurants and also a full service bar. The store is very Cincy inspired with local flavors and images. read more

This Kroger needs to be graded with a curve. This is in a huge multi-story building in downtown Cincinnati less than 1/8th mile from the corporate headquarters. But don't let the location fool you. This isn't one of their massive Super Stores. Realistically speaking, it caters to those living downtown or working downtown and want to bring something quick home. The store itself isn't very big, but does contain all of the main Kroger items with a special focus on ready meals. There's also a deal where when you pay for parking, you get a refund with a purchase of $20 as long as you're there less than 2 hrs. The first floor has all of the groceries and perishable items. The second floor is the "food court". This is where you'll find the bar with 8 beers on tap as well as the deli and BBQ. If I lived in downtown Cinci, this would be my main store. read more

We visited this a Kroger for a Yelp event. This store is amazing! The first floor is your regular Kroger with all the normal food items. The second level has several places to eat. The food was delicious, tons of seating in very trendy fashion. The topper was a bar on the second floor. What, enjoy a cocktail and shop, yes please! If you are worried about parking, they have a garage and offer the first 30 minutes if you are just coming in to grab a bite. Definitely recommend this store. read more

Horrible. Prices seem higher at this particular store. Many customers are rude, blocking aisles and the entrance. A remarkable amount of foul-mouthed people roaming around. Seems to be a pick-up joint for some men. The store has several security guards, more than I have ever seen anywhere else. Love the new Kroger On The Rhine! We've been waiting for it to open for many months now and we're not disappointed. You can tell that they've put a lot of thought the layout and their offerings. We stopped briefly on the second floor -- home to the beer and wine section and five restaurants. As you can imagine, it was super-crowded on the second day of its opening during a workday lunch rush. We will be back. First floor has a big Starbucks, salad bar, takeout/prepped foods cases. It's clean and nice. We're betting that on the weekends -- downtown is typically pretty devoid of people on weekends unless there's a special event -- it will be a very pleasurable shopping experience. No gas; no pharmacy; but we are cool with that. So grateful to be able to leave the Newport Kroger Marketplace behind us! read more

"Cincinnati needs a grocery store downtown." I've stated or thought the above phrase multiple times during the last [gulp] 26 years that I've worked in downtown Cincinnati. I did not lie; aside from the 2020 COVID-lockdown months, I've shopped at the mini-Kroger on Court Street weekly since its grand opening. Can I find the perfect leg of lamb there? No. It's not Findlay Market nor Is it THE BIG SHOP store. However, it is perfect for picking up coffee, milk, seltzer, and salad supplies for the office, and filling in the gaps in the home cubbard. Impressive produce department, cheese selection , and baked goods. Solid selection of dry goods. Limited meat department, whose pre-portioned and seasoned offerings may appeal to millennials. (Got lamb? See above.) Convenient grab-n-go lunch assortment of deli meat and cheese, pre-made meals in the form of salads, sandwiches, and sushi. read more

All those security officers at the downtown Cincinnati Kroger (at least five) need to do more, like keeping order. A lot of people go through the store without social etiquette -- blocking the entrance, blocking aisles, leaving carts in the middle of aisles and the entrances, men trying to pick up women, and panhandlers at the entrance. Uniformed officers don't seem to be paying attention at all. A guy in a Kroger uniform -- seems to be undercover security -- knows what he is doing, but that's it. Seems to have at least 5 security people in a small store and it's still a mess. read more

This Kroger is awesome!! Very different from traditional Krogers. The whole concept is centered in great take-out options + local produce + grocery essentials. At the center of the store you will have several option of prepared meals like: salad bar, asian food, max & cheese, sandwiches, Eli's, Home Chef kits, etc. They also offer ready to go options from Murrays and deli meats. I love that they carry local products like produce from 80 acres and bread from 16 bricks. That's not something you find on your traditional Kroger. Throughout the store they have local items flagged. Upstairs they have a food court with local food! We tried bites from all the restaurants during a Yelp event and they were great! This location is awesome! Stopped in just to check it out and I love the layout, the selection. I was especially intrigued by the pre made meal options and even a selection of Mac n cheese. It would be a bit of a hike for me to carry my groceries back to where I park after work here, but it might be worth it. This is a great store with many amenities. I frequently stop in for Starbucks on my walk to work which has very quick service compared to other downtown locations. On the 2nd floor there is a great wine and beer shop with extensive choices which I almost want to keep a secret for myself. The 2nd floor also has a food court with some excellent choices. Free validated parking with purchase for 3 hours in the connected garage AND electric car chargers on every floor takes this over the top as a place to shop in OTR. read more

I met a group of friends for drinks on the balcony and we had a good time. I was distracted by the grandeur of the place and all of the folks who were there leisurely sipping their beverages and ordering food. It felt like more of a restaurant than a grocery. Its a shame they waited until the neighborhood was completely gentrified to invest in so much retail space. My friends and I jokingly call it the "Gentrifiers Kroger" as opposed to the "Kroghetto" that use to be on vine street. Both have unflattering names and cater to a different audience but one just doesn't sit well with me. In an attempt to look past my personal views, I went to the salad bar for lunch on a different day and discovered I had to pay for parking.
