I stopped in today and, as always, ended up finding way more than I planned. First, you absolutely cannot leave without trying the bakery. I picked up their pecan salted caramel brownies, and these things are KILLER ( thus their name Killer Brownies) They have one of the best bakery selections I've come across, and everything looked so fresh and tempting. I also grabbed some sourdough bread and a salted soft pretzel. Their meat selection is fantastic too. We picked up some specialty brats, including Hawaiian brats with pineapple and brown sugar and Bourbon Peach brats. I also couldn't resist their gourmet blended burgers. For my wife, I grabbed the Steakhouse Burger, which is infused with provolone, A.1. sauce, garlic, salt, and pepper. For myself, I went with the Philly Burger, loaded with peppers, onions, and cheese sauce. Talk about taking burgers to another level! Yes, Dorothy Lane Market is more expensive than your average grocery store, but you can really see and taste the difference in the quality. From the bakery to the specialty meats and prepared foods, this is definitely a place where you're paying for quality. If you're a foodie--or just like discovering great specialty grocery stores--Dorothy Lane Market is worth the trip. I walked in for a few things and walked out with enough food to plan several meals. They have lots of sweet treats such as cookies and other delicious delectables. I went with a Kremer's Cordon Bleu Sandwich which came with melted Lorraine Swiss, roasted chicken, ham, and dijon mustard on a croissant. It was absolutely delicious with the meats especially standing out as being awesome. Unfortunately there isn't anywhere to sit and eat on site at Kremer's but there's a beautiful park across the street to sit and eat which is what we did. They have tons of other things I want to try from their store and we will definitely be back.

It really is tremendously lazy but if you have the extra money to pay so you don't have to get out of your car well then so be it. We drive thru to get food from fast food places so why not convenience marts. I didn't pay close attention to pricing but I would imagine you have to pay a little more for a service like this. So by the end we had white rice with various veggies (which seemed to come from just a random bag of frozen vegetables, there were lima beans, broccoli, cauliflower, corn) and spanish rice, Black and pinto beans, two giant chunks of each type of meat, two halves of a potato, and 6 corn tortillas each dinner.... As you can tell these were GIANT take out containers. I think they would have broken in half if I didn't support them on the bottom, these things were LOADED. I'll be honest... I combined all the sides together, mixed them up, and we ended up getting two meals a piece out of all this food. I wish I had thought to snap a picture of all of it before we started digging in, but I managed to set aside the meat, take a look at that if you want to get hungry. So then how was it? Absolutely delicious! The chicken and potatoes had so much seasoning on them that I honestly thought the potatoes were sweet potatoes because they were so orange. Fortunately the seasoning was INCREDIBLE, there was spice, there was flavor, and it was all harmonious. The meat was cooked about perfectly (I think the steak was a little fatty so it could have been cooked longer to try and drip some of that off), and the tortillas tasted like they might have actually been home-made, not the uniform shapes and thickness of a factory press. I LOVE Mexican food, I could eat it every single day. But it's hard for me to be truly impressed, I mean even bad Mexican is still pretty good, like have you ever had an awful taco? I don't think they exist. This place though, this place reminds you that Mexican food can go beyond "not bad." Don't believe me? Swing by with a $20 and get 4 meals, a ton of starches, and a new addiction.
