There were many other cars and trucks stuck here overnight as well. The rest stop manager, Ethan, was a life saver. He made sure that everyone had food and warmth and continuously salted and shoveled the walkways. He kept us updated on the storm and the conditions of the road and kept spirits high!! The bathrooms were always clean and in great shape. Thank you Ethan for making a bad situation into one we will remember for a while (positively)! :)

A few people leave what is considered a somewhat bad review, one of which was creatively written and hysterically funny, and she decides to say that these people gave bad reviews "probably because they're racist" like is known in that area. Wtheck is wrong with people? That review was a couple years ago before all of the madness that is taking place today, and by the way, this is a nightmare we are in now. It is perpetuated by these Karen's of the world who want to make EVERYTHING somehow about identity politics and racism. Just stop it already. Every opinion is NOT directly related to racism. It is this mentality which is dividing this country terribly. For the review, as I said, I've never been there and I probably never will get the opportunity, but I did get to see the expose of this place on CBS News and the food looks wonderful and the ownership seems very kind and welcoming. The staff was very friendly, welcoming, and professional. We initially had booked a suite and it was fantastic to have all that extra space. After we checked out, we tried heading home east on I80, but the road was closed indefinitely, so after lunch, we reluctantly decided to return to the hotel for a room. The front desk staff was great, let us check back in well before regular checking hours, and even apologized that our original room wasn't available anymore. Which was fine by us. The road finally reopened later that evening, so we headed back out around 9pm, and again, staff was very friendly and let us know, we'd still have access to the room until midnight if we needed to come back. Thankfully that wasn't necessary. I do wish they had extended breakfast hours on Sundays but otherwise we had a great stay.

The hotel is on the bank of the Medicine Bow River, not too far from the base of Elk Mountain.
