3.5 stars, rounded up. My husband and I both had positive interactions here. On the trip east, we wanted to use the dump station at 3 am but the manager who knew the lock was on lunch. The lady working offered him free coffee for waiting an hour which was super sweet (and she recognized him a week later and helped him get someone to fill our propane tank). On the return trip, a different employee who was filling deli items greeted me upon entry. It was 7 am and even the hot food was fully stocked! I got a hot dog for breakfast! We got gas both visits for under 3$ a gallon, and refilled the propane tank on the way home. Overall, such a worthy stop we hit it twice! Love's is my usual oasis on the interstate though I've been leaning towards Flying J lately as they have free wifi. Love's wifi is paid. Today's bathroom break was a major disappointment. Toilets were not clean. There were shreds of paper on the floor. The trash bins by the sink were full. There were stains on the ground in the convenience store. Even the "rank this restroom" buttons were torn off the wall or I would have hit the "red" button. Lots of options for roller grill hot dogs and fixings. Fresh looking food in the cooler. But after visiting that bathroom, I wasn't going to support this station with my wallet. It takes 3 cashiers to run one register!!! Not one of them can leave the counter to clean the showers and there's 5 people in line waiting. I guess loves only hires people with 1/3 of a brain and that's why it takes 3 people to run the cash register. read more

Hesitant to stop in with the reviews. Slept in the overnight parking lot with our van. Felt safe and had a great night of sleep. In morning went inside Loves. The staff very friendly. The area around the fuel pumps (trucks, autos -- didn't go to the big rig area) is almost a parking lot so full of us people needing to refill our autos. Traffic there could get a bit awkward. Walking into the "store" there's lots of people there too, all were trying to maintain 'x' (some but not 6') distance between each other while in line. Place was orderly, people moving about doing their business. Went to the ladies room and it was pretty clean, but don't look up at the air vents -- as I did while waiting in line for a stall. There was so much lint, stuff on the air vents that a wooly mammoth would be a bit envious. Otherwise the ladies restroom area was very clean and orderly. read more

A Ok with me! I stopped for a quick road trip bathroom break and a snack. Checked out the Chester's and the Subway. Both looked good but just chose the cheaper taquito roll under the heat lamps. Bathroom was clean and classic country music played throughout the entire Loves. Food was fairly priced. Credit card not work at pump, had to go into store and guess what amount of gas I would use, unbelievable! Told I would be reimbursed difference. Used less than what I guessed and instead of crediting my card charged me for new amount. Called credit card company immediately. Advised to wait five days for them to charge me correctly and they didn't understand either. Ok why does a large gas company like Loves work so inefficiently, each time I went in the lines were super long. Why isn't one cashier designated to process people with gas charges? Only reason we had to stop here is because we were in the middle of no where. 2012 my cc number was stolen at a Loves gas station,I would rather run out of gas in the future than stop at a loves again. I will vouch for the helper who mentioned he incessant flies. Can't believe I'm starting the review this way. Lol! I stood in line for Chester's chicken. As I was about the order, the guy in front of me interrupted me and told the worker he forgot his chicken wings. The employee says "oh yeah" and proceeds to pack his wings up. I ordered a three piece snack which includes one biscuit, side and three pieces of chicken. I added a small order of gizzards and liver. There were two choices on the menu, small and large. He rung me up for a medium. When I corrected him, he said the medium is the smallest we can give you because you want both livers and gizzards. I said "fine" and he said it would take 5 minutes. 15 minutes later, I inquired about them because I hadn't received them yet. Another employee said it would take another 10-15 minutes! I said "but that guy said it would take 5 minutes." He added "yeah, I don't know why he said that because it takes 20-25 minutes." Good lord! So I wait. The first employee tells me it'll be another 51 seconds. Another 5 minutes later, he hands them to me without an apology. This place is a joke. If it weren't in the middle of nowhere I'd never have chosen this dump. Go elsewhere! read more

We generally love Love's Travel stops, but this one just fails! Pumps were pumping so slowly that we had to shut off our side of the pump so the person across from us could get gas. Pumping .19 gallons a minute is just not doable at this busy station. The guy inside was totally unconcerned--said he was sure things were working the way they were supposed to be. There was absolutely no sense of urgency. It was pretty clear that they were almost out of gas, although the guy inside wasn't about to admit it. Why is it that customers have to tell other people waiting in line so they don't waste their time. Several people we told decided they had enough gas to move on down the road. Love's missed out on a lot of gas sales by not being prepared. If you can't supply gas to all the pumps, you should just shut them all down but one, and let people choose whether or not they're fuel critical enough to wait. Just don't bother here if you don't have to. Move on down the road and get your gas elsewhere. read more

Quick shout out for the manager at Love's. We made a quick pit stop to use the bathrooms. However, the line for the women's was sooo long. Fortunately, the manager had several of us follow him to other bathrooms, which appeared to be for the truckers. They had a shower in addition to the toilet. The bathrooms were immaculate! I was flabbergasted, as I've never had an employee at any establishment notice the line for the bathrooms, & then immediately do something about it. Pretty cool! read more

We ate at Chester's and ordered the family meal. The chicken was cold and dried out from sitting under the heat lamp too long. The gentleman that waited on us acted like we were bothering him to take our order. Wait.....that's not the worse the women filling the condiments and straws and lids dropped a whole roll of lids onto the dirty floor. She then proceeded to put the lids back Into the holder instead of throwing them out. I know there is the five second rule but it was wet and snowing outside and the floor was a massive mud pit. Glad I filled my drink before I witnessed the lid fiasco. I hope others traveling in the area pick another place that doesn't have such bad food, poor service and muddy floors. read more

Amazing that with the signs on the doors and the announcement on the loud speaker saying masks were required, the employees in the subway were not all wearing a mask properly (mouth and nose exposed). Winding down on the first leg of our overnight journey from Oregon to Texas, my boyfriend and I reeked. I-80 is long -- so very long -- and is decorated with many truck stops. None of these compare to Love's, so we pressed on, on and on... for around 200 miles. At one point, we didn't know if we were going to make it. My boyfriend always keeps a garden hose in the back of his car, so we had a backup plan. Then, suddenly, Love's emerged over the rocky Wamsutter horizon. $12 a shower seemed pretty steep. I basically guffawed when the man told me the price. But my boyfriend offered to treat, so I was granted the opportunity to take a shower. Love's offers individual bathrooms, tile-lined showers, and hot water. Even their grout is clean. Splendid! I don't plan to ever return to Wyoming, but I can't recommend this place enough. Go, go, go! A true hidden gem in the universe's least populous state! read more

I asked her to please change her gloves and she looked at me like I was disgusting. Excuse me, no!!! We have a nation of sick people and you're trying to spare subway the cost of extra gloves? Ugh. I dread fueling at this Loves. My company only uses Love's, & I pretty much have to fuel here to be sure I ma k e it to denver or salt lske. Each fuel lane will have a line 4 trucks long, many times I've seen the driver at the pump or pulled ahead of it dosappear. One problem is the pump computer will cap out & they have to go inside & wait in line to ask for pump to be turned on. The worst problem though is the suvway. I've seen this many times. The people trapped behind a truck get fed up & go in to find the driver & he's at Subway pulling his hair out while an apathetic slug makes his sandwich one painful olive at a time. Take out those worthless Subways & the truck drivers might not lose their minds. read more

Either they designed the gas pumps to exclude vehicles with trailers or they are idi_ots. It's not like they were tight on space in Wamsutter, yet they oriented the pumps so that there is not enough room to approach or exit if you are pulling a trailer. And don't think you can drive around the diesel pumps to get better access. Do not try to get gasoline here if you are towing. read more

Excellent Love's! Friendly people, updated showers with 2 bath towels :) Only strange thing - I walked into women's restroom and there was a old man combing his hair in the mirror! The staff at this place apparently need a tad more training on how to use a truck scale, which should be a layup for a truck stop. I went inside and clearly explained I need front axle, full rig and real axle measurements on their Cat Scale. Okay don't get me wrong, Wyoming is beautiful, but this LOVE'S is not! This was one of the dirtiest Love's we have been to. The whole place smelled like rotten eggs and the restrooms were filthy! My husband and I were going to take a shower here but after we saw the restrooms we immediately changed our minds! (I've been in cleaner out houses.) Also, don't ever go to the Chester's or Subway when the (not being racist) Asian tour bus is there!!! If I didn't get elbowed 5 times it wasn't crap! The staff was cool at least but the place was a complete disaster! Most Loves' aren't very clean which is why we usually go to the Pilot/Flying Js.... Which aren't much cleaner, but we have better experiences there. I'm not much for complaining, but this place was gross. As truck drivers, we look forward to showering after a long day, NOT HERE! Like I said before, at least the staff was nice even if they didn't give a flying F about their establishment. read more

Loves was great, Subway was fine, but as for Chesters, that was another story. All we wanted was a side of green beans and a side of mashed potatoes. First, they said we never seem to sell our green beans very well, so we won't be making any. That is ridiculous; it was on their menu! When you have an item on your menu, you have to be prepared to make it; otherwise, if you are out, cross it out; or if you don't sell it anymore, take it off the menu! Then, when we got our mashed potatoes, finally, after 25 minutes of waiting, they tell us they don't have butter! Who offers mashed potatoes and doesn't have butter to cook or to serve them with?!?! Also, the mashed potatoes were liquidier than milk!... Disgusting!!! There was not one iota of a solid in there; definitely no thick and creamy goodness! And on top of it, the restaurant was super unsanitary! The workers just messily slapped their bare hands (no gloves) on and in the food to serve it up!
