We're snug in our bed right now in this old-fashioned but clean, warm and cozy motel. Mary is delightful; she welcomed us late at night, even though we got her out of bed! We had driven through very bad weather tonight and intended to go much further, but after miles of blowing snow, icy roads and seeing vehicles off the road, we had to call it a night. Had no idea what hotels/motels were available in Rawlins, but as soon as I got on Yelp and saw the other positive reviews for La Bella, we came straight here. Very happy with this decision, especially to be able to patronize a locally owned, non-chain motel. Looking forward to having coffee with Mary in the morning! read more

This is an older motel, its not fancy, the towels are not fluffy, but it was economical and pet price is $3.00 per pet. There were no extra bugs, I walked barefoot on the carpet, the rooms are older but clean and smell nice. Quiet area and in a lower socio-economic area but safe. Mary is the manager and her dog charlie could not have been friendlier. Only downside is no real green space, but will pick up poo where ever they leave it right! Sheets were nice as well. This motel may not be modern but it's clean, quiet and has nice hot shower and comfortable bed with a very reasonable price. We want to thank Mary for the awesome hospitality, so nice mom and pop places like this still exist. We had mail we wanted to send out on a Sunday morning and didn't have a stamp,so we checked at the office. Mary hooked us up and wouldn't take any money for the stamp. Mary is the sweetest little lady, and her dog Charlie is lovely. We'd been driving all day, and had planned to stop in Rawlins to stay the night. We were both looking forward to a hot shower and some shut eye. I called the Holiday Inn and was shocked at the rates. We've been staying at the like, but I guess Rawlins is busy with summer travelers. I called La Bella, Mary offered her last non-smoking room to us for 1/3 the price of Holiday Inn. Sold. It's a little motel in Rawlins. Decor circa 1972. We call that retro now. Are there some things that could be updated in keeping with the vintage vibe? Sure. In terms of our needs does that really matter? Nope. Everything is neat and tidy, towels and sheets are clean. It's a perfect place to do what we wanted: hot showers and shut eye with a wonderful hostess. read more

This place saved our BUTTS last night!! Just two city folks traveling through one of the windiest and iciest corridors in Wyoming at night, there was no way we would've made it all the way through to Denver last night. So we had to stop somewhere. Found this place on Yelp "in the middle of nowhere", had pretty good reviews! So I called them up, they held a room for us with nothing more than my name. By the time we arrived, the sweet woman at the front desk had a room key with my name ready for us. Cost $54 TOTAL for the night which was amazing, considering it was pretty basic, but very clean! Very cozy. Had everything we needed for the night. The room was warm and even smelled good! (It was freezing outside). There was free coffee and even pastries in the morning available to take. The sink and shower water gets hot immediately!! Which was SO nice because I desperately needed a nice hot shower as soon as we got in, & that's exactly what I got! So that was a treat. If you are passing through and just need somewhere clean, comfortable and safe to stay for the night, you should definitely stop here!! Forget about the "name brand" hotels. I don't think they'll give you the same care and service as here. Things to note: despite the concrete blocks that the walls are made of (painted over white so it's still tasteful), the room was a little "creaky" I think from all the heavy winds outside. So if you're a very light sleeper you might need ear plugs. But the room was actually very large from what we were expecting. Looks tiny from the outside but room is extremely spacious and looks almost like a little mountain cabin. Had two good sized beds, fridge, microwave, TV, phone & plenty of lights. read more

This motel is great. The rooms are clean and quiet. With the low cost and personal service that you receive l would recommend staying here to anybody. It is pet friendly and the owner and her little dog delivered our dogs a little bag for treats. We have stayed here several times now and we always feel welcomed. This is a wonderful experience, really! Mary T. has been running this wonderful Motel for over 30 years, and it has this very quaint, old, Hitchcockian feel to it once you are inside the room. It is very clean, the ceilings are slanted with wooden beams, nice Queen Double beds in the rooms, and very good Internet connection if you are looking to do any surfing or work in your room on your computer, etc... I also like the way the owner has bolted everything in the room...like the TV, the lamps, etc...because I am sure she has had guests who walk away with stuff...she will even provide the ice if you need it, but in a plastic bag...there is room for hanging your clothes, but no hangers since jerk guests think they can walk away with them...there are plenty of clean towels, but don't be using them to clean your car or your bike...that's right !!! I applaud this La Bella and Mary T...easy parking, walking distance to bars and restaurants, ...this is truly an amazing Motel for a great price...no frills breakfast and stuff, but you do get coffee in the morning...if you are looking for good value, La Bella is as good as it gets !!! read more

I am grateful the previous reviewers took the time to write about this inexpensive, small motel. We wouldn't have found it if not for the Yelp reviews. All we wanted was a cheap motel, comfortable beds and a shower. We got this room for about $50 (includes seniors discount and tax). The room is pretty large, clean, with two full beds, and has a microwave, small refrigerator, wifi and a big TV. We stopped in Rawlins because it started snowing and was about 8 pm. As other reviewers have noted in reviews of other motels, Rawlins is expensive. The America's Best Value motel we stopped at first was $90. We felt we were lucky to find a nice, warm place to stay which was not over-priced. (And yes, the owner lady, Mary, and her cute little Shih Tsu, are nice, too.) read more

My wife was stuck on I-80 between Larimie, WY and Rawlins, WY for over 7 hours and unexpectedly needed a hotel/motel room for the night. After calling several chains and either being told my wife would have to go on a waiting list or they were charging ridiculously high rates I stumbled across La Bella Motel. Mary was so helpful and friendly immediately. She told me she had one room left and would hold it for my wife and didn't even take a credit card. A few hours later I called her back to let her know my wife was still sitting in the same spot and we have no idea when she would arrive. Thankfully, Mary made arrangements for my wife to get in even though she arrived around 1:00 A.M. Mary did all this without ever collecting payment or having a credit card. She was so understanding and helpful during a challenging time. According to my wife the room was nice and cozy. She confirmed the furniture was old and the bed was squeaky. But it was clean and the bed was comfortable. It also had free WiFi which she didn't need for long but was invaluable to address a few critical items. BTW... the price couldn't be beaten! It was easily 3/4's the price of what others were charging. I'm sure most of them weren't giving their standard rate but a marked up one because of the high demand for rooms. Mary is such an honorable person she not only held the room, made arrangements so my wife could get into the room after she had gone to bed, but also kept the rate at her normal price (which is already very inexpensive). If either my wife and/or I are in Rawlins again, we will stay at La Bella Motel! read more

The woman at the front desk is as genuine and kind as it comes- she held the room for me for 3 hours until I arrived with no credit card, just my word that I would be there. That kind of hospitality doesn't exist much anymore. How refreshing to be trusted in a world where everyone is watching their backs. The rooms are quiet, clean, with flat screen TVs, a desk area, a microwave, and a fridge. It has it all- she even accepts pets for a THREE DOLLAR fee. It was a fine inexpensive motel (most of the chains I called seemed overpriced). The decor is retro but did include a flat screen TV, microwave, and mini-fridge. They allowed pets for a fee ($3). I stopped in on the way to Sturgis, SD. I've been avoiding the big chain hotels and this place is the reason why. I was weary from riding all day and needed to flop for the night. I was warmly greeted by Charlie, who does very nice sit up tricks for the price of a belly rub. Mary then emerged and made me feel as welcome as ever. For a respectable rate of 1/2 of what the chain hotels do, I have a big room with a flat screen, a shower, and two beds. If I'm ever through again, I'm stopping to say hi. read more

The lady who runs the place is super sweet and held her last available room for us without collateral. Her dog is super sweet and came to our room to visit while we unpacked the car. Only $3 for the pet fee, which is amazingly great! The rooms are older but very spacious and most importantly, clean. Microwave, mini fridge, double queen beds. A/C worked well and was pretty quiet. You can pull right up outside and unload everything, which is a great plus-no schlepping bags up stairs or down hallways. Yes, the rooms decor is older, but think vintage and you'll be fine. That's where the positive review takes a turn... the the sink faucet came off in my hand and I had to re-program the remote before watching TV. After a nice dinner at Mike's (next door) I crawled into sheets that were so old that they had "pilling" on the entire sheet. My friend chose to sleep on top of the covers with her own blanket and pillow. It felt safe and was quiet but I doubt that I'd stay there again. Also, just be warned - the speed limit on that street is 30 miles per hour and the local cops will cite you for speeding. I got a warning, but I think it's only because we were staying locally. read more

This motel is the BEST. We were driving home from California to Missouri and stopped here half way . It was the cheapest with only 55 dollars the night we stayed there. Beds were nice and soft with VERY nice sheets . Had a mini fridge and a microwave with no extra price .
