The front desk was polite and very helpful. If I was rating this hotel on customer service alone, it would be 5 stars.
Now for the part beyond their control:
$170 a night? In Rawlins, WY.? I know it is an old practice to capitalize on distance between stops...but the price was a bit much considering the volume of the room and lack of privacy.
There is a freight train that rumbles by all night.
The curtains are stapled to the ceiling and cannot be drawn closed. A bright parking lot light lit up our room to nearly unbearable light levels when one just wants to sleep. Then, the couple cars that pulled up and shined headlights into the room...we could clearly see the drivers from bed, which leads me to believe they could clearly see us in bed.
The AC unit. Off. Just turn off! Even with all the settings off, this loud machine turned on and off by itself through the night.
The bed was comfortable, but not enough to induce good slumber with all the light and noise.
Breakfast. $170 a night, and you use powdered eggs and thawed frozen fruit?
Next time we will bring a tent...or sleep in the car. read more
