Jennifer and team were INCREDIBLE for my wedding in January. We had a huge group of girls needing to get their makeup done and everyone on the Formal Faces team was professional, friendly and went out of their way to give exceptional service. One thing that stood out to me the most was that two of my bridesmaids didn't speak English and both of the team members assigned to do their makeup were patient, kind and took the extra time to confirm what they wanted and whether or not they liked their hair and makeup. That to me is 5-star service! Jennifer's hair and makeup trial session also went incredibly well. She really listened to what I wanted and adjusted things to suit my tastes and desires. She's incredibly talented so any bride should feel relaxed knowing that she's in good hands. One final thing I want to mention was that despite us getting started at 9:30 am, EVERYONE's hair and makeup stayed crisp and clean as if it was just finished until the end of the reception (and until way later for some of us that went out to bars after the formal event was over ;) ). They provided hair and make-up for myself (bride), 3 bridesmaids, mother of the bride and mother of the groom. Make up for all of us turned out good, the huge loss was on the hair. I told my stylist at the trial run and the day of the wedding my hair does not hold curls well and requested she pin the curls so they set. She said they would be fine, they wouldn't fall. Come day of the wedding, I requested again she pin the curls and she reassured me again it would hold and sure after she did everything it looked good. However, not even an hour and half later hair look miserable. My hair looked like a rats nest for the ceremony and reception. I'm just happy I had a few good photos that hid the majority of my hair. My mom's hair holds curls VERY well and it was flat before we even left for the venue. The bridesmaids' hair all went limp as well by the time the ceremony started. The make-up looked fine, but honestly I wouldn't recommend just for make-up. I was very disappointed - money spent and she didn't take my word and request for my hair. I decided to do an onsite hair/make up because I got married on a Friday in Atlanta (traffic is a nightmare) and after reading glowing reviews felt very confident in booking. I was disappointed with my over all experience. Cons: - My trail was located an hour away from my home & venue and they only do trials during the week - My consultant forgot about my trail apt. making her late and flustered - this really put a big ding in my day. The trail location was so far I took a day off of work and scheduled my trail plus my dress fitting for after (get the full look) - well because she was late, we sat in 2.5 hours worth of traffic making me late and very flustered for my dress fitting. It was a nightmare. - 3/5 bridesmaid hair did not come out great. Had to fix it a few times, and didn't look close to the photo they brought with them (we did a braided up-do for all bridesmaid and I asked during my trail if that would be okay or should I change it, my consultant said it would be fine. Then on the wedding day a different consultant said oh most braided up-dos require extensions... okay well I would have changed my look if I knew that) - I had two consultants there because we had so many people getting ready, they came separately which meant they came at different times and I had to pay for both of them to park, it was not too expensive, but I personally find that unprofessional. - I am not sure if this is a thing, but they never went over how to put in my veil to make it stay. My BM put my veil on right before I walked down the aisle and it kept falling off. Pros: - My hair and make-up stayed all day and through a lot of happy tears - BM hair / make-up stayed all day - They were very sweet while getting ready - On time for my wedding day / stayed on schedule - SO flexible with scheduling who got ready at what time slot Overall, everything worked out, but I would not suggested them to a friend. *On 10/10/17 the owner requested I change my review on another website. She said that a 3.5 "destroyed" their average. She also kindly stated that she would take my review into consideration to improve, but never addressed anything specific. read more

I am reading all the comments below and WISH I could have at least experienced the services that Formal Faces provides, but they wouldn't let me get that far! I inquired about my wedding in October. After talking to several hair/make-up people I decided Formal Faces was the one for me and I was completely ready to give them my business (bride, 6 bridesmaids, flower girl, 2 moms) I just had a couple questions before making the commitment. I have sensitive skin and asked if they could apply my own personal make-up. They never answered that question, but most make-up professionals I talked to said that was fine. I live out of town (TX) and asked if they could work with me on trial dates. I come to Atlanta often but sometimes it is last minute and usually on a weekend. I mentioned that fact but never said I HAD to have a trial on a weekend. I asked if they would be available on a certain Friday in May when I knew I would be in town. The response I got was "I don't think we are a fit for you. This is not the way we do business. We can't do trials on a weekend." I though it was extremely rude to turn my business away without any question. I even gave a weekday for us to work around. If that didn't work, they could have said something. But instead, they acted like they don't care. Maybe they don't. But I hope this review speaks for itself. If you are wondering if Formal Faces will "work with you" if you have an issue, the answer is NO!!! I gave 2 stars only because they responded to my emails. read more

Heidi did my hair and makeup for my wedding and split the hair and makeup for six of my bridesmaids and my mom with a second stylist, Courtney. After months of stressing over whether to have an up-do or loose curls for my wedding, Jennifer Adams put my worries at ease. I would say I am a very particular person since makeup is a hobby of mine, and Jennifer listened carefully and executed every minor detail I requested. We had a large wedding party as well as both the mother of the groom and bride with some having just one service and several having both. Jennifer provided a schedule and amazingly accomplished the goal of finishing on time. She was so sensitive to the bride knowing a bride can have a case of nerves and told her they could talk or be quiet according to the bride's need. Stephanie and Abby were in a separate room where more of the action was taking place and they were friendly without trying to become the center of attention and so calm with so many people in and out. It created such a great atmosphere of fun in our home. But the bottom line is that their work is superb!! We wanted each bridesmaid to wear her hair the way she wanted so the styles were different and each one was as pretty as the next! Don't waste your money. This is like having your cousin Suzy come over to do your makeup and hair for prom. They are not that good and certainly not worth the money. Go to a real salon where they will actually wash and style your hair. While they were nice, I felt I could have done a much better job on my hair and makeup. They are good with up-dos, but can't truly style hair beyond that. I initially went for the trial and had them put my hair up and it was fine - but then decided I wanted something half-up/down - and my hair was TERRIBLE for my wedding day. The mascara they used was a new product for them and even before the ceremony I had to re-do it as it was smudging onto my eyelids and this was a January wedding, so it wasn't from the heat - it was just a poor product. The foundation was for oily skin and I have drier skin, so I had to reapply moisturizer and basically redo the makeup prior to the ceremony. Only one of my bridesmaids was truly happy with her hair and makeup - and it was an up-do. They don't wash your hair - they just spray it up with water and "aquanet". Their curling and straightening irons are cheap - like Conair that you buy at Walmart. One of the girls doing makeup and hair showed up about 40 min. late and to speed things along I suggested she use my expensive Chi straightener because it was taking FOREVER for her to straighten my friend's hair with her cheapy iron and she acted a bit snotty - and she was the one that showed up late!!! Biggest waste of my money and what really bothers me is that my wedding photos will forever remind me. read more

I had never had professional makeup or an updo done, but I knew I wanted to look my best for this most special day. My daughter and I went to Heidi's home for a trial run, and she made us feel completely welcome, comfortable and beautiful. On the wedding day, Heidi and Stephanie were on site for several hours working with my daughter (the Bride), me (MoB), the MoG, and 6 bridesmaids to make us all look our most beautiful best.
