These reviews are spot on! My balayage was completely wrecked at a previous salon -- so much so that I didn't even want to go back and ask for a free correction. I decided to book an appointment with Ron and I'm SO glad I did! He corrected my orange streaky hair (with ease, might I add) and gave me a fabulous blow out. Let me start by saying he is a MASTER colorist. I have lived here 3 years and have tried out 5 salons and never returned. I came tonight with an impossible task. I have natural copper red hair and made the mistake months back of doing a full color platinum bleach...followed my my bright idea to cover the grow out (because of the horrible job done by another "five star" stylist...decided to cover with black box dye Bc I was too scared to go to another salon and waste money. I had about a millimeter of copper red grow out. His mastery came into play when he had to concoct his own solution because the standard color correction did nothing first round. He cancelled his appointment after me just to make sure I was happy. He was able to take my hair from black to EXACT color red all over and it is shined and beautiful!!! He tries to do things so quickly that he messes up. I think he can do a good job but needs to slow down. His salon is a mess. Sink is filled with hair, I was grossed out to have my hair washed in there. Better stylist around the city that take the time to do your hair properly. read more

I am SO happy that I found Ron. He absolutely transformed my hair while making it look natural. He has such a great eye and technique. I was nervous to try another hairstylist in Atlanta as since I've moved here I haven't had any luck and end up just getting my hair done when I go back home to visit family. BUT, Ron did an AMAZING job. I'm so please with his work of converting my highlights which were becoming a lot of maintenance into balayage so I don't have to keep getting it done as often! Ron took his time, made me feel comfortable, asked questions, looked at pictures I wanted to show him and really did a great job! 3 hours of work was well worth the price and I'm so pleased with his customer service over all. read more

Ron Massey is the BEST. I went in to get balayage after not coloring my hair for years, and after seeing all of his amazing reviews on yelp, made an appointment with Ron. I had a phone consultation with his assistant Mikey about my current hair and what I wanted it to look like after my appointment and making me already felt very cared about. I had the most wonderful experience at the salon and the time and care he spent on doing my hair was like watching an artist work. However, when he was finished, my hair was much blonder than I had expected it to be. For some reason, I didn't say anything before I left the salon hoping that maybe as the day went on I would start to like it more. Unfortunately, I didn't, and was faced with the uncomfortable choice of emailing him to tell him I wasn't in love with my hair like I had said or not saying anything and potentially being unhappy with what it looked like. I got the courage to send it and I'm so glad I did. I emailed him fully expecting for him to be too busy to fix it for a while but just told him that it was a little too blonde for me and also mentioned that I had a wedding to attend the next day just in case he'd be able to fit me in anytime really soon. He responded as soon as he got it to tell me that he would definitely make time to squeeze me in so that I would love my hair before I went to the wedding. Wow! I went in the next morning and not only did he make time for me, but he also didn't make me feel bad for one single second about not loving my hair from the previous day. He and his amazing assistant Mikey (plus even another colorist from a neighboring salon) took time out of their days to transform my hair into exactly what I wanted and made it the most wonderful experience. Mikey even took the time to curl my hair afterwards so it'd look nice for later that evening. Their willingness to fit me in during a busy day, listen to what I didn't like, and change my hair accordingly in time for my wedding made a Ron Massey client out of me and now I won't go to anyone else. I had been coloring my own hair for more than a decade. At the beginning of the year, I decided it was time to get it professionally done (dark, gray and white roots were wearing me down). I knew of Ron because we used to live in the same building. But, I did my research. He had nothing but wonderful reviews. In March he started the process of taming my roots and doing balyage. I've been back twice since and each time I am over the moon about the results. I now have blonde hair with natural looking highlights and roots that grow in in a way that looks more natural. Ron's prices are super reasonable, especially given the amount of time that it takes each time. Plus, he's a super nice guy who can carry on a conversation without prying. I've gone from dyeing my hair every three weeks to only needing maintenance every 7 - 8 weeks. I can't say enough good things about Ron and his skills as a colorist. Ron listened to what I wanted and uses Olaplex which is a huge A+ in my book since my hair has gotten damaged from dying it. Price is reasonable for balayage as balayage is a technique a lot of people claim they can do when they actually can't. Ron is skilled in this technique and I'll definitely be going back. read more
